  • siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick!

  • seems fun. where can i get one?

  • please make a few how to s i cant figure out Korg

  • There are plenty of those on youtube. It really helps to read the manual that comes with the game. I of course assume you bought the game.

  • .....maybe i bought the game yes i have it but i washed the manual in the washer (not on intentionality) do you know of a site that might have one?

  • this is a product SOO worth buying just to support the makers of the product. I one day want a Korg DS20

  • I'm certainly going to get a Korg DS-10 plus once it comes out! :)

  • I was responding to lolcat23's comment 4 posts up from mine.

    This threading system is dreadful.

  • are you using one ds for this?

If so I guess I should find a tutorial for this.

  • Yes, just one DS in song mode even!

  • are you using separate speakers to amp your korg session? how!!!?

  • In this video, I indeed did that.

I hooked the DS upto my pc, and used my pc speakers to play it, then record it with my camera. In later movies, you'll hear the raw sound from the cable.

  • You can plug in your standard (only if they have a built-in amplifier, on-off switch, vol, etc... You can even get one of those cables that convert the headphone signal to RCA jacks and plug it into a stereo auxilliary input.

  • if I bought korg ds-10 would I be able to upload my tunes onto my computer and onto myspace?;)

  • I don't know if YOU can, but it certainly is possible. You'll need a male minijack to male minijack audio cable, a soundcard and wave-editing software. Wavosaur is a free wave-editing software that you can use.

  • oh mkay;) thanx for the help;D

    xx

  • how'd yoo get korg ds-10? do yoo know where I can get it?;) please reply, I love electro chiptune and it'd be wik if I could make some of my own:)

    xx

  • I bought it. ;)

  • tight dang it . wish i could get my ds to play some nice melodies

  • Experience is the key here. :) Just play alot with it, and eventually you'll get something nice out of it. :)

  • excellent!!

  • Great! :D

  • Oh my bad! lol you did do that didnt you?!

hah I didnt realise because I just now read the vid info. lol geez..

  • I did indeed do that, I thought you ment even more :D

  • good song man. Hey You should take the 4th drum file and load a synth sound into it, throw on the full legato and do some ligh background harmonies along with the song. It will sound more full that way. :)

    its a nice litle trick.

You can do that to all the drums and get a 6 part hamony but you would have to sacrifice the drums for that for the song unless on some of the patterns you manualy engineer them back to drum sounds.

    ~Tyler

  • Yeah :)

But I really love drums, which makes this a sacrifice I can't really make. But good suggestion indeed. :)

  • Very nice job! This little synth tool seems to actually be pretty complicated. Hopefully I'll get it for Christmas!

  • Thanks. :) Glad you like it.

  • Fresh sound man. I wanted to ask you a couple of things. How do you get your drums to sound so ill and can you tell me the pattern you put down on the drum sequencer to create that breakbeat?

  • Experience, I guess. I can make most of the sounds I want. As for the pattern, just set your speed to 40 and swing to 62. The pattern can be seen somewhere at the end of the video. Also, I added some echo to the sound to get more groove. Experience is the key.

  • The 4 songs you've posted are awesome. Question about this one: How do you get that slow slide in the tone over the first 4 sequences in the song?

  • Thanks :D

Actually, its really easy to do this, but there's a note that you need to keep in mind. First the technique. Use the edit patch button. Set the most left knob to something on the right side of the knob (speed=fast) and connect the /\/ waveform to the resonance. Then turn the filter knob to something else than the top. (the more left or right, the bigger the tonechange will be.) Then go to synth edit. On the right side of the screen, you have the filter controls.

  • These are EG Init, Peak and resonance. Make sure the peak is not all the way left. The more to the right the more you'll notice the effect. Then tune the resonance untill you have a nice sound. You can then finetune the patch edit, and set the speed to the left=slow.

The note here is, that when you change a pattern (either in the sequence or manually) it resets the settings of the sound.

  • I suggest to create a pattern first with one long note set to legato and a 100% at the end, so you can fully hear the results when you tweak.

  • very nice track, I love how it sounds xD. also I have a little question, as I don't have the manual. What does the swing actually do? it seems like it delays the sound to come out a little, but I'm not sure.

  • If you don't have the manual, then you probably didn't bought it, which is a shame really... This game really deserves it. But I'll answer this question nontheless. The swing changes the delay of every even and uneven note. It makes every uneven longer and every even shorter. This creates a groove.

  • thanks for the reply. I understand this deserves it, but my mom is picky and she's like "you can just download it, no need to buy it, bla bla " :3. If i have the money and see it around(since its out in US now), ill probobly buy it. anyways I think I understand what you are saying, thanks. again, nice track xD

  • dude you should, they are "giving" you synths that would cost thousands of dollars for a couple of $, which are portable even!

You know how close it was that it never even came out in the US, if too many ppl pirate it, then maybe, the same company will think next time "naw, it was popular, but everyone dl'd it :S" and WONT make the same thing for the next portable game console.

So, ye, normally i download everything, but this i bought. and so should you!

  • .. dont like youtube threading techniques.. this is a reply to some guy who wanted the manual with the game cause he downloaded it

  • wow, been a while since i commented here xP. nyways, I did buy it, I'm aware of what you said, and I do support games that I really like ;)

  • oh, cool ;)

  • Why do you download everything though? The same logic applies to all software.

  • Wow, that's good :D

I've been wanting to get this.. but I was thinking it might be to hard for me to use xD

  • Thanks :)

Well, everything is hard at first. The key to success in this is to understand what everything does. There aren't that many options, so the learning curve is not that long. Just read the manual. :)

  • o ok, I'll get it :)

  • thats really good!

  • Thanks. :)

  • Full of win. :D

    Very nice, LPChip!

  • Thanks :D

  • Sounds good coming out of speakers so probably sounds a lot better with a line in recording of the song.

  • It does! :) You can download the mp3 file by clicking on more info, and following the link in there. Then you can hear for yourself. :)

  • Oh, I have to get this thing now. $40 seems like a steal. And great music as always, LPChip!

Curious; are you using a normal DS or a DS-Lite? I heard there was a difference in sound quality or some such.

  • Thanks :) Glad you like it.

I'm using the DS-Lite version, although I don't know if the sound is better. I never owned a regular DS.

  • this is an amazing song. who would think a video game system would create this good of stuff.

  • Yeah, I agree. I didn't even thought it would be possible to create music with this kind of quality until I actually got the game myself. :)

  • Haha, awesome.

I am going to get this thing someday.

  • :) Glad you like it. :)
