I'm really over acted in this movie. Like I'm a kid crying, shouting no in every sad scenes. Movie like this, i wish the producers and directors of disney & pixar studios to make more wonderful movies that children will appreciate & enjoy. I love Ellie & Carl so much. I love all the previous Pixar films. Up failed me, by being too conventional in the end, specially after a promising start. My dissappointment was that they had to use a villain for easy thrills. That cheapened the movie for me. I was also sad that the movie makers decided to kill a mentally ill old man in the end, when they could have used atonement as a story element insteand. That would have been a real surprice. Disney's kill the bad guy formula is getting old.

I always read people saying UP is about chasing your dreams, but I feel differently. Muntz went insane in pursuit of his dream, and Fredrickson didn't find happiness by making it to Paradise Falls.

Don't the Carl/Ellie scenes imply greatness isn't the point? It's summed up in a story Russell tells, which ends: "I think it's the boring stuff I remember most." To me, UP says every moment is a treasure. It's less the destination, and more the journey of life that counts.

Just watched it right now and I must say a very brilliant movie. I was hoping for a different ending lol. I was imagining that the old guy will meet a old lady in the wilderness that resemble his wife. The old lady was in the wilderness helping animals but bad guys are trying to capture them. So the old guy save her. And so on. Thats was my imagination lol. But yea very good movie.
