Not all running bamboos take over the yard. It's hard to get some types to run at all especially being way up north, but I plant all my running bamboos in the ground.
Well I know that if roots get damage they regenerate pretty quickly but yes imo that was brutal. I learned from my mother to wet the soil before seperating the plants and roots if they are like that. That way they come off easily and less damage to roots. You have to wash the bamboo anyways. It can life on just water so.
Just bought black bamboo plants. I was told to soak the roots in water 4 couple of weeks before planting. Is it true? Don't want to kill d plants.
