There should have been a tour with Frida and Collins, half-ABBA half-Genesis, that would have been great. Imagine Frida singing the Carpet Crawlers, or Turn It On Again.
Produced by Phil Collins. Can't mistake his poundin' drums in it. Billboard's #20 hit of '83. God bless ya, for postin' it. Thanx! Have a blessed new year!
@DaveWollenberg Thanks Dave, Frida and Phil had a common bond on her first english solo album. Both felt they were the victims in their divorce. Great comment!
@frapistat Thanx for not cussin' me out. I get TOO MANY of those, and, it's great to see somebody not to resort to usin' vile language. Have a blessed '12. God bless you.
I actually heard this song on the radio for the first time a month or so ago, and I thought it sounded like Phil Collins / Genesis, but obviously the voice was too feminine for it to be him. However, it is true Phil produced this and played drums (and I think he may even be singing backup).
I am just speculating.. but it is possible that the success of this song in 1982 contributed to the breakup of ABBA? I know that the members fo the norwegian band a-ha all DESPISE each other, yet they keep getting back together whenever their bank accounts register ZERO. They last retired in Dec 2010. They will be forced back to performing by 2013.
Ahhhhh... the new wave movement of the 80's! Oh how much I loved living in that time! This song is totally awesome in magical proportions! Those of you who lived this time know what I am talking about. I have so many awesome memories of this time. I remember this playing at the local pool every Saturday and how we would all cheer when our favorite songs would come on. So many cool places for us teens to hang out back then. What a time that was. I just love the 80's so much! I sure miss it! :-(
The 1st time I heard this song was on HBO's "Video Jukebox"... I used money I earned babysitting to buy it on 45, then played it repeatedly while crying my eyes out over my cheating lifeguard boyfriend... 30 yrs later, my little sister still thanks God for The Police Synchronicity album, & credits Sting for saving her from the Frida insanity!
Phil Collins has a powerful drum technique. He has his own original sound. Listen to him play drums on "Burning Down One Side" off of Robert Plant's first solo album, "Pictures At Eleven". That song is incredible!
i think frida started to enjoy her solo stuff more than abba i just get the feeling she loves to take centre stage because the majority of the time agnetha always gets the lead one of example of where frida gets more or less nothin is the day before you came as she only has an operatic line and thats it
Thanks Shay. I've decided to try and put every video of ABBA and members up in the best view I can achieve. It does'nt work everytime, but most so far.

Was ABBA one of those bands which secretly recorded their name backwards on their songs?

I remember watching the video when HBO had video jukebox. The 80's will forever be the best decade.
