  • @thehoff1982 as you might know the LT1 has 10.5 to 1 comp ratio. on the stock comp ratio you can't run much more then 10 psi or so... which is good for about 390 to 420 hp. i have heard of lowering compression and running over 20 psi with studded heads and thicker head gaskets with the stock bottom... but the turbo/supercharger cost around $4000. i would cam it with some long tubes,gears,stall. you would spend alot less and still be around 400 to 500hp depending on cam and any port or polish

  • Actually bro., this is the way I bought the car. Nothing really special about it. It had nitrous but I took that off. But I would say it's pushing close to 350hp considering I still have stock heads. I wanted to get some AFR heads but it's not looking to good right now. It has a bunch of aftermarket parts though.

  • the ws6 is just the Ram air, suspension, some other add ons so you can make your own ws6 so you Sr. are wrong...

    The ws6 was first introduced in 97 but now you can make your own Ws6

  • 1996 with OBDII, but yeah. His is not a WS6. He needs to quit calling it one. It probably just has a hood...not all the suspension goodies or Ram air for that reason.

  • Yeah, you guys are right. It probably isn't a stock WS6 but I can assure you that it has everything a WS6 has, including the suspension. But to my understanding... the WS6 was from '96 and up but I've also heard that they've been made before too. (Back in the 80s or 70s, I think.)

  • Yeah, maybe bro. I don't really know. I need to run a compression test and see what's going on. The car is stroked but it doesn't really help when I still have stalk heads. I know I've seen some really bad LT1s though.

  • It's really not that much, it has a crank from a 400ci engine and it may be bored out. I bought the car like this. But a lot of people hear 383 stoker and they think that the car is fast as hell. In reality, mine is a mild 383, it only gave it about 50-60 more hp. I'm guessing it only has 350 hp.

  • depends on the stroker. a GOOD LT1 383 can do 450+ with ported heads and headers and maybe bigger TB. You got a crappy 383 if its only doing 350 no offense. Try to find out whats in it. If its cast then get rid of it or your engine is gonna bust. Get a Forged 383 kit and clean up the heads and youll make tons of power.

  • ya i have a 1993 t/a .30 over 53 cc heads rv cam moroso intake it dyno'd 390 and my moms 1996 ws6 has a 383 with 420 hp so yours should be in between those

  • Yup. 350 engine bored 0.03 over with a small block 400 crank in it. Longer stroke, higher torque. Mine is about squared 470hp 470torque. Really depend on many other parts, cam, heads, intake, exhaust, rear end. Don't have any videos of mine yet, still working on making video of it.

  • My friend had a v6 and put an LS1 in. he bought the whole car for $3K (it was wrecked from the back) but he did take a long time putting it all in. He said the wires were a pain. I think you should put an LS1 over the LT1. There's a kit you can buy for about $2,500 and it should give you about 550hp on the LS1. Also in my opinion, my Eagle Alloy's aren't bad. They look good when I shine them up. The vidio makes them look bad because of the frame rate.

  • Cool !!!! That's what rev limiters are for. Check out my - corvair drag race montage - video if you wanna hear an over worked rev limiter . Most were at 6600 but a few at 6800. Also have a 78 vette with a ZZ 383. Look for - corvette burnout - by 1unsafe1

  • Nothing that great on the engine. Also what kind of headers would you guys recommend for my car? Also, if you can tell me where to get an LT4 block plate so I could eliminate the o2 sensors, that would be great.

  • Yeah I figured it was pretty much a mild 383 combo. The good thing about that is it has the potential to be a monster with the right parts. As far as headers go I will recommend Kooks. I have the 1-7/8" long-tubes on my '93, but I doubt you'll need that big of primary for you application. Go with the Kooks 1-3/4's, or if your on a budget i'd suggest Pacesetter LT's.

  • Stainless Works make some of the best headers but kinda pricy. Kooks are what I have on my vette and love them. I would try Texas Speed and Performance for the headers and whatever else. They took good care of me.

  • What is your rev limiter set at? Im lookin at going with 383 and balancing it and all just want to know what will they hold up to?

  • Right now it's set to 6k rpm. I'm acually going to check the engine out this Friday to see if I still have good compresion on each cylinder. I have never checked it before.

I heard something about making it an AWD, how American is that? Also have you seen how much a Saleen and a Roush cost? The horsepower on those 2 don't differ that much from the GT, so my suggestion to you is, "Don't over pay, it's a Ford."

  • honestly...i knida like the look of the 99-05 mustangs, especially the cobras...but it seems that EVERYONE has a mustang, camaros and firebirds are much more rare..and the performance for the money is hands down GM. still the ricers are the ones who i will pick on...and sometimes the mustangs if they think they are faster. and ur right awd is good...but not at all american muscle.

  • Hey, thanks for the compliment on my car. I have also had my doubts about it being a ws6 but everything on the car indicates that it is. Not just the apearance but the sway bars underneith and my suspention aswell.

  • Pues tengo un arbol de levas de un motor 400ci, un siguenal de nitro, flowmaster catback, filtros de aire SLP, Hypertech que devide el aire cuando entra, MSD ingnition 6AL, Hotchkis kit que bajo el carro un poco, cables Accel 8.8mm, y otras cositas mas que no me puedo acordar orita. Este verano que paso le quite el nitro. Mire tu carro, esta bonito.

  • Perdon, tengo un sigueñal de un motor 400ci y el arbol de levas es de nitro. El sigueñal convierte el 350 a un 383. Pero, sube mas videos de tu carro a YouTube. Admito que mi carro no es rapido, pero los comentarios que pone la gente parece que SI les dije que mi carro le puede ganar a qual quier otro carro. Y hay muchas personas que no les gusta mi carro. Pero uno de Mexico pues nos vale madre, que no?
