  • know whats funny about this lol wee lads got all hi tec guns etc and so on look at end credits in his case they even left his set of coulor pencils

  • Harry Palmer's son?

  • this takes "grooming" to a whole new level !!

  • Does anyone know if this is available as cell phone ring tone?

  • I ordered this from Amazon, received a video called "Joe-69" which funnily enough also included shiny spinning mind altering orbs, disgusting... :)

  • @pcvideogamer lmao

  • I thought I would never hear this music again, reminds me when I was 5 and watched Joe 90 on the tv, 34 years ago!

  • They sure loved their Microgramma Extended back in those days ... typeface of the "future"!

  • amazing theme...great old sixties...:)

  • Barry Grey themes are quiet memorable!

  • C'était le futur

  • The machine was named 'The Big Rat' in honour of a doner kebab he ate in West Ealing one evening after drinking 24 pints of Double Diamond lager.

  • Ha got this on original vynal..... but my record deck got busted years ago damn it.

  • YOU CAN DO FREAKY 60S DANCEING TO THIS.

  • wow what a tune i love barry grays songs

  • They should do a live actionremake of this. Or at least a series of new adventures in cgi like the new adventures of Captain Scarlet.

  • I don't think I'll ever get bored with watching this - I loved it as a kid (back in the 70s) & it still fascinates me now, it's such a fantastic combination of music & visuals... x

  • this is a huge northern soul dance tune!!!!

  • Too bad about the leisure suit; this was the mid/late '60s. Obviously his folks were tight-arsed C. of E., or he could've had some kick-arse threads.

Too bad Supermarionation technology evolved so slowly: Supercar's Jimmy Gibson looked like such a fucking goblin next to Joe...

  • Whenever I see Joe 90 I can't help but think, brain cancer... you know what I mean?

  • i cant help but think of TEAM AMERICA now! when i watch this!! the whole dicks and pussies joke! i cant help it! those dam canadians have royally fucked up my childhood memories!

  • Best I've heard. Brilliant job!

  • Man, these were the days when the brits produced epic programmes and epic films!

  • Call the CPA, this guy's brainwashing his kid!

  • LOve this version rather than the recorded commercialy released version. The Drummer was very hot : )

  • Wonderful groovy, funky 60's music!

Listening to this you are instantly transported into a magical world where *anything* is possible! And brain modification techniques that we can scarcely imagine are carried out via magnetic tape, fantastic stuff!

  • It was always 'Thunderbirds' as the awesome theme when I was a nipper but one day, hearing these again I realized I was wrong! My fave Barry Gray theme (Sorry, don't like the 'No Strings Attached' Version though!)

  • Now it seems very childish, but when I saw 34 years ago I found wonderful add congratulations...!

  • Great theme, especially enjoyed the orchestral version.Only in the 60's could you get away with brain-washing a 9 year old to deal with Security threats to the nation, nowadays his old man would be jailed for this, and Social Services would have learned from their mistakes and it would'nt happen again.

  • Love how the woodwinds and the brass music melts in after the electric band at the start.

  • Good Video of the intro & the end titles & i especially like the pause were you Joe close up ,after all the show is about him

  • Fantástico isso.................Parabéns!!!!!

  • I remember having the Joe 90 kit when I was a kid. It had the case, the guns, id and the glasses.

Thanks for posting this, good memories!

  • IS THE FIRST TIME IN 35 YEARS THAT I GET TO HEAR THIS !!!!!

Many thanks ! This was part of my chilhood, !!

    I'm almost cring...

    Thanks a lot

  • All that gear he had back then would probably fit inside a phone nowdays but would be much less impressive

  • I loved this show as a kid. And I'm only 21; I had three VHS tapes of thepisodes which I watched over and over and over again- I don't rememeber it ever being broadcast on TV back then.

  • in my 40s now but this is still GREAT.

  • now thats a computer

  • Image the british secret service had a machine like that!

  • @SR71ABCD: We do. But keep that to yourself!

  • It looked like the kid was going to spue his lunch. It remind me of this ride called the gravatron

  • 2:34 Sculpter - "Plugg Shutt"

    Great name!!

  • GO JOE! YOU'RE THE BEST! Apart from Captain Scarlet.

  • @ 3.23 Sculpter "Plugg Shutt Great name! :D

  • 3:23 Sculpter "Plugg Shutt" Great name! :D

  • You've made a nice job...Well done!!!

Loved this as a kid...My favourite of all the Anderson shows!!!

Made the same year as me :)

  • briliant.,.i am fuckin crying.... where did all them yrs go.. thanks for the tune... lush xxxx

  • Barry Gray = Music Genius bar none !

  • Nice part of my child and miens friends, every friday evening with JOE90, thanks for this.

  • Joe 90 looks like a less battered version of Daniel Craig lol :)

  • Yes this is the groovy future we never had and probably never will. This my friends is 1960's optimism at it's best, so lets all rejoice in the past, because Britain's got bugger all to shout about now.

  • @taffy1967 You said it buddy.

  • Northern soul

  • lush...spirit of the sixties .

  • Made me proud to be a specky kid.

  • with controled brains

  • What a blast from the past. Awesome sound, great job. Thank you!

    Man I feel really old!

  • Never saw Joe90, altho I was (and am) an Andersons fan. Prob. it didn't play in Phila. area growing up. Not sure I wanna see it, either -- this intro totally FAILS to tease the story/background us /draw us in. Looks more like a merchandising piece to me -- I presume you could BUY toy replicas of all the cool stuff Joe used? Worst Anderson intro ever. Main character does nothing but sit google-eyed while some Prisoner-style shiite does stuff around him. Could be a big sound system for all we know

  • @50zcarsman was a big hit in Britain. If you never saw it your comments are mindless.

  • I love the sound of that Farfisa organ. Never saw this show. Don't remember it being on in the 60's with his more popular Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds, Fireball XL5 and Supercar or Stingray. Is this available on video? Any info please?

  • Loved this ]]

  • Barry Gray=LEGEND&GENIUS

  • This makes me feel smug. Young people are raving about the Joss Whedon show DOLLHOUSE, about a top secret spy facility where they implant total personalities into agents and send them out to do missions. I can tell them I saw the concept 40 years ago (except Joe 90 gets to keep his basic personality and only tacks on skills from the brains of experts.)

  • Dollhouse has been canned FYI

  • This makes me feel smug. Young people are raving about the Joss Whedon show DOLLHOUSE, and I can say I saw the same sort of concept 40 years ago as a boy!! Except Joe gets to keep his own personality and only attaches skills from the brains of experts...

  • Just watched this approx. 17 times in a row, many thanks!

  • in response to exoman62.the last part of that comment may be a way forward when dealing with the scum that abound our streets at night.there all pissed, you get nothing but verbal abuse from them and they show no regard for the police.enough said.

  • Classic

  • Looks like they put him in a big rotating functional MRI. Funtional MRIs are now used in conjuction with computers, to accurately READ MINDS in this century 21 we now find ourselves in >Gerry was so prophetic.

  • Im a kid again

  • Shit man everytime i here the tune,I'm like back there with my briefcase,an glasses.

    peace

  • exom62

i got it when i was a kid!

effing ace. if i remember rightly it had two guns in it and all the other gubbings form the show!

One of my favourite toys when i was a kid as well as the tonka dump truck and the tonka crane

  • Timeless xxx

  • 2:56 IPOD?

  • Why did every kid at school in the 70s who wore glasses get called Joe 90???

  • Is that Sir David Lane? The p53 guy?

  • Neck tinglingly brilliant!

  • you could buy that briefcase when I was a kid, but sadly I never had one :(. Anyway, the social services would be straight round if a nine year old child was subjected to what Joe was!!

  • Like it . Tha's a good one that .

  • Well I suppose in thisday and age Gerry AAnderson might have been lynched for making a childresn story with puppets depicting a 10 year old being brainwashed by his mad professor father into submitting to do all kinds of spurious deeds on behalf of the government......oh....hang on.....dont we do that anyway?....hehe

  • me trae hermosos recuerdos de mi infancia.

veia los capitulos de lunes a viernes,a las 10:00 hs.

gracias por estos gratos momentos !!!!!!!

  • Excellent, it is nice to be able to show this to My Kids. Thanks.

  • Pitty the system the used on him could not become reality . If it could then mankind could do what no man has done before . Understand the workings of a woman's mind . Work it out .

  • We have this TODAY, in century 21 that Gerry and Sylvia accurately envisioned back in 1969.

  • This takes me back to my childhood i used to watch joe90 ,thunderbirds,stingray,space1999,ufo gerry anderson was a bloody genius i'm glad i was born at the right time.

  • Just GREAT! Thanks

  • Great Tune, KEEP THE FAITH!

  • One of Barry Gray's finest ? ...He wrote so many great theme tunes... I'm spoilt for choice. Love it !

  • So damn funky man!!! I wanna dance!!!!

  • Go ahead and dance - I do. It is a great 60s tune

  • Loved Joe 90...as a kid wanted to date him!!!!

  • thanks for posting

  • Today, Joe 90 would be fighting terrorism around the world and they would have harder time trying to get him because they don't suspect that western intelligence community would use kids like Joe to infiltrate their cell organizations. If they hear those rumors would drive them batty, not knowing if the kids they recruiting into their suicide bomber squads are regular types or spy plants trying seek and destroy their leaders.

  • @Mythteller It was only a kids TV programme. Get a life!!

  • Such a funky tune. Never really understand what joe 90s was about. Perhaps it's about time I should.

  • I was never keen on Joe 90, but the theme tune is out of this world.

  • The impassive expression on the face of the Joe 90 puppet reminds me of that of my nephew's face when he was a boy.... I think that he was slightly autistic. Some years ago as a young man he attempted suicide...

  • how cool is this takes me back

  • The stereo effect added by the Windows software is amazing.

I thought it was gonna be the usual ' hole in the middle ' sound that was the norm of all earlier attempts to create stereo from mono.

Barry Gray's recordings were top notch, mostly done on a Ampex recorder.

    Glorious mono of course !

  • the stereo track was from the joe 90 cd from silva screen. A very good cd.

  • I don't know if anyone else has ever realized that Gerry Anderson was obviously a Len Deighton fan, as parts of the opening sequence of JOE 90 are mimicked from the commencement of THE BILLION DOLLAR BRAIN, and beginning of CAPTAIN SCARLET is reminiscent to the final scene in THE IPCRESS FILE when Harry Palmer (Michael Caine) shoots Dalby (Nigel Green).

    PR

  • think the tape was state of the art computer technology back then,i remember my sisters first tape recorder about 2foot wide by 3 foot long took two seperate tapes about the size of dinner plates

  • Great theme. But that machine in the title sequence, spooling out the used tape like a broken cassette player ... seems like a design fault really...

  • I think the original purpose of that design was to have an area of tape coils under glass as wide as the tape, to pick up the slack safely in case the reels did not stop at the same time. By making the glass enclosure only as wide as the tape, loops would form ribbons but never snag on itself. It's not a design flaw, just to account for sudden spool stops and variable speeds.

  • yeah man guns and a police scanner all tooled up for a "Robery" in yer school breif case!! anyway the kids today take the piss out people who where glasses calling them joe, they av no idea where it originates from!

  • Such a cool piece of music.

  • nick rodhes will be joe 90 hahahahahhaha

  • I went to school with Joe 90. A right clever little kid who passed 20 'O' levels, his school certificate and his cycling proficiency test all in one afternoon. I sure he cheated and his father helped him out.

  • brilliant thanks for uplifting this clip i loved it brings back so many memories people like you make this site make the web !!!!!!

  • I think Gerry Anderson was into Northern Soul

  • This was the best kids show ever, our british answer to the thunderbirds and a darned site better if you ask me! Joe ninety for ever! ( all forty something british males agree with me!!!)

  • Unsure what you mean by "Our british answer to the Thunderbirds". My understanding is that both were British, being Gerry Anderson productions. Unless you mean the characters! Sorry, just being churlish.

  • Joe 90 is still alive and lives in Sussex. His grandson has taken over from him. All their computer equipment has been up graded by Microsoft. It all fits neatly on a desk top and instead of tape they use USB keys. Danny 120, that's his name, still has to get in the pod though. Oh and no more glasses. It's all done with a peircing.

  • @5656steve

    hahahahahahahaha

  • So, you've a middle aged man who straps his son to a chair, puts him in a cage, brainwashes him and sends him to life-threatening situations? What would the social service make of it - LOL!

  • Joe's adopted....now it makes sense :)

  • I love it ,,very funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!lololol!

  • The Anderson series gripped child's mind also in Japan. I am the kind. A sound at that time is missed and it is fresh now. Thanks!!

  • I So Wanted The Joe 90 Case They Advertised At The End On A Sunday Night I Didn't Get One Did Anybody ?

  • I LOVED GERRY ANDERSONS space 1999 but i am sorry its just me i kinow but these puppet shows like this and thunderbirds just creep me out. I think the puppets are toooooo creepy!

  • pretty good

  • one of the best theme songs of all time.

  • nick rhodes from Duran Duran will be joe 90 hahahaha

  • BRILLIANT!!!!

  • The new TV show Dollhouse kind of sounds like a similar idea.

  • massive at Wigan.

  • Seriously? Did you ever get invited to the sets?

  • Seriously.....nope.

  • I wasn't even talking to you specifically.

  • Excellent. But who in hell was Plugg Shutt (2 min 39 sec)?

  • Fab,Brilliant, excellent, great series and a great theme tune.

  • Wigan casino all nighters wow

  • JUST A SUGGESTION!! Try watching the opening theme to Joe 90 after smoking a joint???? Then you will know how they came up with the ideas.

  • on reflection now (at the - ahem - age of 47) i think the thing i loved about Joe 90 was he was a kid in all respects but when he transformed although he still looked a kid he tripped up all the adults and solved the cases !

  • This show was so very well done! And I always loved the theme! I remember I wanted to have a suitcase like that, too! Memories... Well, that just proves that I'm not getting any younger!!! Thanks for sharing!

BTW: these were a lot better than the crap the poor kids have to deal with today, no?...

  • I have a case like that

  • all i can say very very trippy when yer look back on the whole thing.i dont think my parents knew about ACID

  • man i wish i could be a kid again this was and still is sssssooooo cccoooollll!!!!!!! go Joe Go!!!!

  • Very very nicely done - I take it you added one or two shots to pad out the opening sequence because of the speed change and used still slides for the end credits?

    Excellent :-)

  • thanks....yes,the very last shot of the case at the end of the film.....at a second or two.

  • Very well done tardisdrwho2007. I remember this show from my dim and distant past. :)

  • excellent!

  • Thanks for this :)

  • The british and their awesome graphic style!!

Imagine how cool for a kid to be a full on secret agent -only in marionetteland!

  • AWESOME :D
