  • god how does he strum like that......:c

  • @JustBetter10 believe me the strum pattern is not the difficult part in this song haha

  • @TaliaTxT actually it is..at least the way John does it. (:

  • @Fnkyfck i can play the song and the strum pattern is pretty easy. the hard part is pressing the chords right especially during the solo

  • @TaliaTxT me wants to see you cover it. (: but whatever, nobody can play it like John does. :D

  • I wish he would come to Manchester to play the song. It's a shame he won't be there with the peppers this November.

  • amazing!!!

  • Yes I just learned how to play this cover it sounds fucking awesome!!!

  • This cover is great. Nothing more to say.

  • It doesen't make you a better musician by commenting that his gutiar is out of tune. Grow up and enjoy the music.

  • @dysfunctiongod dude you're fucking retarded he didn't waste his time with the chili peppers are you fucking retarded if it wasn't for them he wouldn't be the guitarist he is so stfu

  • John's right hand moves so fast ! :D

  • Awesome accustic version by Pumpkins troubled guitarist....and fantastic musician all by his lonesome without that bald guy from Chicago anyway.

  • @noveltyme He was NOT in Smashing Pumpkins, at any point in time.

  • I saw that about maybe 8 years ago when it actually aired in german television...the time i started playinf myself

From this moment i saw it i was addicted to his music. i taped the rerun trying to get chords hes using (wich are easyier than they look)....this man will always be a major influence in my music, whatever genre im playing....

    He was dead and reborn.....

  • is this a hole cover?

  • @scribblertheband joy division, dude

  • i rember seein this on zwei tv its an ace version of a classic song

  • I miss VIVA2.

  • Wauw beautiful cover !

  • Wow, John did a great job with this one! And I'm not even a fan of covers! :)

  • I'm in love with this cover, I did a cover of this song ^^ But not nearly as good as this ofcourse:-P

  • I like, and I love RHCP. Though for some reason I always prefer the moby version, even if I don't like the rest of his music that much.

  • good version

  • i like it!!

  • UncleChickenMan you are a loser

  • Hmmm...i THANKED Lubey for posting this, said it was a GREAT song ...and said his guitar is slightly out of tune....WHICH IT IS!!

You might help yourself by moving your bed against a wall, susiq, so that there's only one side to get out of in the afternoons...

But thanks for the comment anyway, I won't be putting a fiver on the 3.30 at Chepstow after all, now that you've called me a loser!

  • a beautiful original, a beautiful cover done by an amazing musician, i love his work with RHCP but its so good to hear his solo and covers too he really is an amazing guy

  • freakin' awesome

  • Flea said "Sometimes, when I look at John, I just want to cry because there is so much love coming from is heart" <3

  • What a super cover. played from the heart.

  • jepp, that´s it!!! pure passion. Thanks for sharing this great stuff.

  • Love the cover, much better than mobys version. O gush he play sooo emotionelly with the guitar. He plays both the main guitar and summer's line. Emotions...just feel it...

  • Moby's version is atrocious. This one is pretty good.

  • John Frusciante is plain awesome. Is he playing both the melody and the chords all by himself here? Or just the chords?

  • probably both, its a really simple song to play, ive been covering it with just my voice and bass as an encore with my band for the past 5 years. beuatiful arrangement tho. all credit to bernard sumner.

  • his style...very cool.

  • I'm really digging this Frusciante stuff from Europe. Never got to see it until now. His covers of this and Big Takeover (believe it's from Amsterdam) are amazing.

  • Jaja, das john frusciante 2Rock special, eigene clips, live clips und musikvideo wünsche seinerseits + interview, das warn noch zeiten...

  • Great cover, John really plays with passion....John is the best

  • he did this in amsterdam.. it's somewhere on youtube. sounds way better.

  • Proper

  • Great cover acctually.

  • GOOD

  • john frusciante=god

  • proper real melancholy

  • moby's cover is awsome

  • too bad a great musician like this was wasted in the goddamn red hot chili peppers

  • to quote the ever so eloquent david chapelle

"yes [you] deserve to die! and i hope [you] burn in hell!!!"

well, i had to edit it slightly, but the purpose has been fulfilled. good day!

  • I love Joy Division and this version is great. Well done, John!

  • I'm a big fan of Joy Division and I think this is a great cover. He puts his soul in it!

He's playing with a pick isn't he? What kind of guitar is that?

  • martin 0-15

  • I like the Moby cover of this song for the "Heat" soundtrack, too.

  • thats amazingly good

  • best guitarrist ever

  • Since now pal- my view is that i dont think much of a copied song unless its played in a way that is uniquely different, with a lot of your own style and interpretation put in- not just copied.

I give credit to someone that does someone elses song but does something really different with it.

Why- are you from 'stars in there eyes'

  • yeah lets get it straight- cannot compare to ian curtis's song, but awesome guitar no doubt.Original version on 'Still' is the one and only- you cant copy someone elses great song and get shitloads of praise unless you do something completely amazing with it.

  • since when?

  • i do believe the original was in fact on Joy Division's debut album "Unknown Pleasures"

  • I wish I could play like that

  • amazing. john is god.

  • yeah he can't... he is not Joy Division,

but OMG!! this guitar sounds GREAT...

  • BRILL!! cant beat the original though.

  • Not a big fan of the Chilis, but JD are my favourite band and he does the cover awesomely.

  • great cover!! he do this all the time, just with an acoustic guitar,he is unbelievable

  • I never thought I would see anyone justifyably emulate the intensity and stage presence of Ian Curtis...until now. He does Joy Division's best track justice by making it his own, not ripping it off. All the guitar parts done by the one man? I'm beside myself. Well Done John

  • Great cover!! & great song, i love it!!, chao ! ^_^

  • hmm im not a fan of this cover probz cause i love the original so damn much

  • this is a fucking excellent cover, if i've ever heard any. he totally breathed life into it. now i know why some people call him God.

  • good lord
