I have to say Albus is a beautiful dog, i know exactly what you been about the tigger jumo when the mood takes them, we have an akita called missy, she is 11 now and still does it every now and then lol
Please post more videos of Albus. Very active, cute puppy. I thought I saw another dog in the video- does Albus get along well with other animals? Very smart- we want an Akita.
We had one, it was a VERY smart dog, took to training faster than any other dog I've seen. But it was a nightmare with strangers, he bit 3 people, including my older brother who got his bottom lip torn in half from him, had to put him to sleep after, it was awful.
I also had an akita which attacked me and my sister, she put her fang through my arm and attacked my sister's face pretty badly, she also had to be put to sleep, we got her from a breeder, and only after the attacks did she tell us that the dog had been returned twice before we got her for attacking her owners, she is quite a well known breeder 2, im sure u would have heard of Amadar akita's.
I plan on getting a male Akita when I purchase a house but has anyone ever noticed how clumsy they seem as puppies (around 6-9 months). How long before they grow out that stage?
Yeah, some breeds are different than others. Dogs of the same breed can even be unique to their own in growing, just like people. You might notice it more in Akitas because they are very big boned large dogs. Lol think about yourself, if you could start out at 12 lbs. & grow to over 100 lbs. in only 1 1/2 years, you'd be pretty uncoordinated too.
I have an Akita/Husky mix about 7 Months old. She's built like and has the energy of a Husky, but the face and attitude of an Akita (minus her Howl). She's about 40 lbs. and 21 Inches Tall at the Whithers. She can run like a horse, but you can still see her awkward puppy coordination at times. Unlike my 5 Yr. Old JRT who can dart & maneuver on a dime.
if your getting an akita remember their period as pups is quite short, and will be a large powerful dog the rest of its life, make sure you can handle that
It was a sock in his mouth. He used to be our sock thief and drag them outside to play with them. Thank goodness he mostly grew out of that. But he still does the "tigger" bounce when he is playing.
omg!!!!he is so cute!!!!how did you come up of naming your akita elvis?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
this is so not pure breed!!! It is an American Akita. It is not pure at all. I have a Japanese pure Akita

ALL puppies are clumsy, Period. They usually get out of the stage around 1 Year Old.

Okay, maybe its just so pronounced in Akitas because of their size and how majestic the adults seem.
I must say that I owned puppies of other breeds and except when they were a few months I didn't notice
