No, its not a book, its based on the same two books that all Wonderland themes are based upon (Alice's Adventures in Wonderland...and Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice found there) the game is just a darker extension of the story..I bought it at Best Buy a loooooong time ago, its only for the PC...and yes the Tim Burton movie is based upon this game/concept of American McGee's Alice...the film is set to be released 2010
I'm sorry...PC and Mac...but I don't know if you can still get at Best Buy...there is also a rumor that they will re-release the game when the movie comes out...as much as I love this game the graphics aren't that good by today's standards...so hopefully a new game will come out for one of the consoles :)
I've used it on Windows XP which isn't specified in the platforms on the box...so I assume it will work with any version of Windows higher than 98....I've seen some message boards where people have had trouble with it, but most say it works fine on Vista...so it might just be the typical run- ins that Vista has... just make sure you have a decent graphics card and the specs are set properly

This is so bitter. American McGee's version of Alice struggled to be made into a movie and Tim Burton comes up with his own one just like that.

The hatter dosnt actually use the saw saw in the game when you see him you just fight him on a big platform no tea or saw.
