Not one of us slowed down and I'm sure we all glanced over and then back to the direction we were heading. Nobody wanted a part of it and that was the end of it. If you had done something serious youd expect him to keep you there until the proper authorities turned up. However if he was trying to keep you there for a power trip youd tell him to fuck off.

Technically, he should have issued the citation first, terminating the traffic stop, and then ask for consent to search.

Let the cop search the car and you avoid the cost of the ticket for what he pulled you over for in the firstplace because you had to do something to give the cop a reason to pull you over.
