They are so out of touch with the people they are suppose to represent - no clue at all because the laws they govern are not the laws they have to follow. If they did, maybe they would get it.
2 years ago, Obama made an analogy in his argument for a "Public Option" and although there were over 1,400 health care plans in the U.S., he felt that we needed a Public Option to "level the playing field" He likened it to the US Postal Service being in place to keep UPS and FedEx "honest"... WTF?! The US Postal Service is HEMORRHAGING MONEY... THAT'S his analogy! (?)
And than posted on the White House blog a student Adrienne Lowe from Alabama is bragging about not even having to look for a job - this is sicko - put the w's before the link: "whitehouse.gov/blog/2010/10/19/adrienne-explains-how-college-students-are-benefiting-affordable-care-act" I really would like more information on that one - like who is supporting her while she volunteers in her community and church. She has no worries. Just the students who do not have this option to not work.
The portion of the Affordable Care Act that is inclusive to the rich is an outrage. I was a Republican who had the smarts to never vote for George W - but Mr. Obama, you fooled me and are a great disappointment. Shame on you for caving into the insurance companies.
-continuted- travel the world, volunteer in their community, get married and have children without even a part-time job, and still be on their parents plan. Who is paying for these adults to not work, get married, go to grad school, have babies, & volunteer? What happens to grads working part-time & struggling to find full-time employment? Not arbitrary? That is a joke. Those who need it the most are excluded. The families who can afford to pay for these (even married) adults get coverage.
-continuted- still be covered by their parents’ coverage if they do not work, or are not offered a health plan on their job. Recent graduates who must live at home dependent on their parents, paying off student loans and working in part-time low paying jobs while looking for full-time employment in this depressed economy are paying a good portion of their meager income to pay for substandard health care, excluded from this provision. This same student can, if their parents pay for everything
This plan is very arbitrary! Until 2014, The Affordable Care Act allows young adults < 26 to be + to parent coverage except if they are eligible for group coverage even through part-time employment. Most employers with less than 50 employees must offer health care. Not quality insurance, not even low cost options. It does not matter if they make minimum wage & pay excessive $ for extremely low quality insurance. A young adult can be married, not live with you, not financially dependent on you &
Also, I am currently in the process of filing a claim with my insurance company. My employer had to switch to a HMO due to rising cost. The company has not sought to help me in any way. Everytime I call I am transferred to several different people who cannot answer my question. I have to fill out page after page of paperwork. I have been doing this for three months and I still have not received my claim. I know many other citizens of this great nation that can tell the same story.
Excellent response. Notice how he supports his argument with sources. Representative Miller uses FACTS from different sources. Unlike the GOP who attempt to mislead and now are questioning the non partisan CBO!!!! I do not want my insurance in the hands of companies who only seek to make a profit. This bill is a start but we need even more reform! Thank your Representative Miller for your service and willingness to speak TRUTH.
I wrote this Rep. George Miller a month ago and asked him the below questions and he never responded. I wonder why?

Funny how all of these assholes don't have to change THEIR gold-plated healthcare plans... for life. They're covered.
Just us peasants who are too stupid to know any better...
