  • .......this video must have been produced on a PC.

  • bad made video. cant hear a think

  • MAC LIES THEY CAN get viruses

  • Couldn't hear a thing, btw ... Linux FTW

  • Man, you guys don't know anything... Windows = Games, Mac = Media and Linux = Web Hosting(most web hosting sites have servers running linux or unix type OSes)

  • This sucks every type of ball

  • SUX

  • sounds like talking inside a toilet

  • CAUSE ITS SHIT!

  • I can't understand a word

  • pi-i-i-s-i-s-is-s

    p-p-oo-oo-r-oo-r-r-r

    ec-c-ch-o-ch-ho-o-o-o

    e-e-f-e-ff-f-fe-ec-t-t-t

    can't hear a damn thing

and then there's the "danger geek" muzak to blot out anything intelligible. If there was any

    gee-ee-ee-ek-k-k

    fai-ai-ai-l-l-l.......!-!-!

  • maybe you should inform yourself about linux and other os-s (?) more before posting stuff like that...

emulating fo games is slow, yes. installing drivers isn't that hard, though.

and as ubuntu was brought to the humans, linux has become more user-friendly and intuitive than windows. managing hardware and programs even easier (in my opinion).

yes, s.o. w/ no computer experience won't be able to update drivers, but neither in winows

  • slow depending on your system

  • WINE isn't an emulator.

  • @chert95 Wine:wine is not an emulator

  • lol, nice

  • i always thought liunx is for very advanced users

not like i hated it i just didnt think i could run linux easily ,thought its hard and complicated

    now i got ubuntu9.10 ;)

best thing is thats all out of charge and i havent got any problems yet

it runs far faster than my win xp and i CAN watch movies and listen to music though i can play games for windows

everything is just simpler and faster than win

i just regret i cant play my games

well i couldnt play games for win on mac os could i?

  • Yeah you can play games for Windows. Get Wine and mount your games. I play DOWII on Ubuntu 8.

  • cool i god dow 2 too

so u say i get wine and it will work just as on windows??

    what about that steam crap??

    or games for windows shit??

  • wich games you can't play? Yes, you can play windows games in linux (most of them), just look out for wine. I think you'll like it.

  • Everybody's hate's Linux until they try it.

  • I've tried it for about 3 months, was enjoying working out everything and how it worked..

untill i realised.. everytime i'm on the thing i'm installing this that and the other!

why not just stick with the Majority.. way more userfriendly/compatible

makes life alot easier so you can just get on with other things

  • Even tough i'm on the Mac side, i still hate every single comment all you computer users make!

  • Comment removed

  • @1998anirudh

windows has a 32 bits virus that kills their machine... and Mac has a lethal virus too.... all OS will have a lethal virus...

  • @1998anirudh it's not a virus., it's a tool that can be used as malware or not, and it's not exclusively for linux. BMG Sony uses rootkit to prevent illegal copies of it's CDs.

as long as you Keep your system and yourself updated, it's not really a threat.

But yes, without caution, it can be deadly to your system (any system.)

  • Linux Ubuntu --> Absolutely wonderful. Fast, smooth, no crashing, no unexpected closing windows, and best of all: FREE SOFTWARE DOWNLOADS! Wine is definitely a must have so you can run all your WIndow applications on Linux at Linux pace. Only problem I've had is with Adobe Flash Plugins package not letting me update anything. Other than that, I have no complaints. Great OS!

  • Finally someone who has some sense in the software industry. I just got Ubuntu, and it's the best. Good comment.

  • In my opinion:

PC --> Too many viruses, crashing, and freezing altogether. Only really good unless you know how to maintain your computer VERY VERY well. Also, security updating is kinda annoying after a while. However, Command Prompt ftw.

Mac --> Kernel panics suck. Don't ever hit the power button while youre updating software. Operates smoother and more user friendly. Don't have to worry about viruses which is nice. Clarity, fast-paced, and more media-oriented.

  • @Unews2009 Lol, Macs are the worst. Absolute Worst compatibility in my opinion. Lots of extra money, for a lot of extra crap.

  • hey you should focus on what in front off you and them three dude are dooshbags.

way too nerdy. they make the whole comercial shit.

  • pc is a nerd

  • audio quality sucks, where were u shooting this? in a plastic studio.? Echo+ Bad sound= Unbearable.

  • @MikeMessiah /agree

  • shhh, linux is the best kept secret around, but in all honesty, i do really feel bad for things like windows and viruses and adware, must suck to have to deal with those kinda things

  • I have windows, and have for years. never had one virus! (Not being assy) linux is alright. I'd have a mac, but none of my software works with it.

  • LOL i like the round shadow all around them, looks like they put alot of time and energy in making this, good audio, good acting, good rating : )

  • Your acting and your video are as good as your audio and your rating...

  • your audio sucks

  • The sure thing is that if you used right any of these three OS's (especially a mac in this case), you would have done a much better job. So if you don't know how to use them correctly, how can you express your opinion about them and contrast them.??

  • the sound is terrable nerds

  • bad audio

  • I can't hear very well this video

  • Bad audio

  • "Hi, I'm a Mac. You need to sell everything to buy me."

  • HAHA, I'll buy anything shiny and new from apple.

  • They are so much faster tho... And hardly need taking care of.

  • @mendozairis kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • @mendozairis Mac doesn't even have HDMI port, and doesn't support many PC games :( dat's what they are losing, a tremendous LOSS!!

  • does everyone hafta do one of these? The ones on TV are funny but.... ugh... these are getting lame

  • Windows XP = 5-10 min. WMP update, wow, that's so hard to do.

  • UbuntuLee: I'm gonna call you out on that one, Windows Media Player comes pre-installed on Windows and plays all DVD's right-out-of-the-box.

  • No it doesn't unless you have a codec installed.

A codec may come preinstalled by your hardware vendor, but is not present in a regular install.

  • Riiiiiight....

So you don't need an MPEG2 video codec...

So you don't need an AC3 codec...

So you don't need a DTS codec...

And you certainly don't need something that can decrypt CSS content...

None of the above are present on a fresh XP install

  • No, you don't

You only need an DVD Drive.

XP doesn't play DVD's with Media Player

  • Comment removed

  • If You Download & install VLC which is what most PC people use anyway. It plays everything & it also updates all the codecs for mediaplayer without you having to do anything during install including movies that don't play on Mac.. Also Windows makes updates continuously & include codecs in amongst them..

also Toaster Screws up a much larger pecentage of Dvds the nero does that normally comes free when you buy a DVD writter

  • VLC runs on mac os x also

  • GOM player has video codecs built-in

VLC is another good player that I use on both Windows XP and Ubuntu installations.

Windows 7 has 3-4 built-in universal codecs so it's ready to play 90% of videos (avi, mkv, mov, mpg) just out of box.

  • I just wanted to reply cause a lot of other people replied to one comment too!

  • they are on mine

  • @wheelmanZ28 ubunt plays DVDs as well. simply install 'ubuntu-restricted-extras' and it has the flashplayer and Iced-Tea-Java as well.

  • Not in windows XP. Default install windows xp and it will not play DVDs.

    watch?v=c4aS3ibpMgM&feature=channel_page

There is a way to hack XP to get it to play DVDs.

  • i use all three, beat my computer. linux is main and on partition 1 with 250 gb, windows since it needs more is on partition 2 with 300 gb, and since i hardly see the need for mac osx it gets partition 3 with 100 gb. then 350 gb shared partition 4. hooray 1 tb powerhouse computer. people need to learn how to use computers, just subject yourself to old versions of linux and then look at a new one. the new ones are easier to use than mac, but not everybody gives linux a shot, just because it's new

  • Lol. So dumb. OS X can run any Linux application thanks to xquartz, or you know, we can just dual boot Linux on a mac....

  • if your going to use linux why run mac at all? xquartz is just for people that are scared of changing the desktop and appearence of the computer. i'd say experiment with computers software especially since most people have the install cd of their os, and linux is free. just get a backup for ur mac or pc and then just back everything up and try linux. even their websites are way more friendly. along with the linux community. peace out you all. and cada loco con su taimo

  • I use SOME Linux applications. And what are you talking about with the xquartz? Do you even know what it does? Afraid of changing the desktop appearance? Xquartz has nothing to do with theming... it is Xorg for OS X basically. That way I am compat with all linux apps and OS X apps and can run them side by side.

  • i mean people don't want to change to osx i know it doesn't change appearence. and why would i use osx when i can get all the programs i want to run natively on linux, like the functionality is way better with linux it just takes time to learn. i was saying why use mac when you can get everything the same or better or just a little harder to use with a free os. if you like osx stay with it, but i can't stand how much behind the scenes stuff it hides. like i said cada loco con su taimo

  • i stated that badly, i know xquartz doesn't change desktop appearance but changing os's does. it's a new desktop. i'm not yelling at you or anything rather agreeing and pointing out that just using it is better, like you said dual boot linux and mac. thats what i do, but with win, linux, mac. i hardly use osx because windows and linux cover all the things i need to do. cada loco con su taimo (every crazy man has his pleasure, to each his own, whatever floats your boat)

  • First of all, choosing an OS for cosmetics is terrible.

Second, you cannot get better programs than I on linux. That is just the way it is.. Get Microsoft Word, iWork, the whole iLife suite, photoshop, Painter X, iTunes to support your iPod.

Linux just cannot ever keep up with these things. I know they have alternatives but the alternatives are not accepted at my school and usually are not as compatible in the long run.

  • I disagree with Linux not ever being able to keep up. Linux is supported by 1% of the world (it has climbed over this recently) but the fact is... you are seeing it at only a small fraction of it's potential.

With only that fraction it is still superior to XP. I have supported mac for years and would say that Ubuntu is easier to use in general (assuming no hw issues). The lack of compatibility you speak of is often a conformance to standards... silly them I know. This is why many hate IE.

  • Ubuntu is easier than OS X? Don't think so. That wont happen for a long time, and Linux (THE KERNEL) has potential. Xorg needs fucking trashed.

  • For first time computer users OS X can be confusing and for people coming from Windows, Mac is often totally bizarre.

I have supported Mac for two years (40h week) with OS X... after all that time I still find Ubuntu easier.

I set up my gf's computer. She had no difficulty figuring out most normal things... Lots of people have issues with Mac's Dock at first.

While ubuntu's initial interface is pretty obvious. Look at the initial screen for each... I wonder where the applications are?

  • Thats why you read this little thing called a handbook. Comes with every mac.

  • When it comes to the OS ease of use = intuitive. When someone is learning to use a new type of system what do they look up? How do they know what things are called? Mac does not take the path of least resistance in this respect.

It is simply history that they were easier to use... I used Macs all though grade school, they were far easier to use... but now? They are not easier to use. Windows XP is even more straight forward.

  • Oh please. Go play a DVD on Windows. Oh wait, you can't because XP is incapable of that without 3rd party software. Macs have everything available right out of the box.

  • That support I did was for a major printer manufacture... and the windows drivers were superior by far. It is the fault of the manufacture but mac suffers the same way linux does when it comes to HW not directly under the control of windows.

Mac only distributes a very small amount of hardware but it distributes both system software AND the system. Windows is not a computer it's System Software.

With this lesson in hand... Can you guess why you need to load the drivers into windows?

  • Use what works. I don't care. I use OS X because I find it to be better than windows or linux. Use whatever you want.

btw I know what drivers do.

  • It's called WinDVD and Windows Media Player. If you have HP, you can get it for free off their site. Windows media player usually does it too.

  • I will repeat myself yet again, You cannot do it without third party software.

  • Windows Media Player is not third party...

  • Would that be cuz of Gnome and KDE ripping windows?

    YES

  • Being a Windows person my whole life I have to kindly disagree. The Mac is not bizarre. The PC is more disoriented than a Mac. A Mac have the menu bar at the same place all the time, easy to find. Plus it has so much better built in help, better quality programs, etc.

Sure, Windows and Linux are great, I do prefer Linux over Mac, but, it all needs redesign, the Mac is ingenious.

  • Very true.

But I still prefer mac over linux XD

  • Linux is a great alternative though. Bur I have to say that I too do prefer my Mac. It has tools Linux lacks.

  • Yeah.

Once I'm sick of mac I might consider going "full-linux" =D

Haha but maybe by tht time there will be a new operating system lol...

I can't seem to use linux much now I'm too hooked on my Final cut pro ^^

  • iWork and iLife is to die for. And Safari, and, just, WOW!

  • I have 2 videos on how to get iMovie '09 and Gargeband '09 for free!

lol I might be uploading the iWork '08 soon (srry I didn't get the '09 version I need '08 for work =(

So anyways you won't have to die for it then hehe =P

  • I have iWork and iLife 09, I bought them the day they came out. I love it. And it is still to die for :P

  • 5 % now

  • Which program you can't run native on OSX / BSD? All programs I have here on OSX and OpenBSD are native.

  • Because xorg *is* Linux? Makes perfect sense.

  • the music is from soundbooth (adobe)

  • Linux Pwnd!.....

  • mac sucks...linux sucks....microsoft sucks...lois...ummm lois...where are you? (family guy)

  • i wish mac pc linux fuse togther

so that we can have the ultimate os

  • Or you could just kill windows and linux and achieve that same goal.

  • muahahaha lol

  • linux is a wigger.

  • Most people would use Linux for hosting their online games or their WebServers cause it's very fast...

  • Windows is for gamers and general uses. Good but there's no security, works well when you have careful with the security problems.

Mac is for designers, music studios, is easy, fast and security, the stuff's works good, but it's expensive.

Linux is for business, security, free, but it's cause a headache to make the "things" work. Sometimes is not a good choice, because you waste a lot of time resolving problems before you start to work. But is generally the best for networking.

    It's my opinion.

  • I just got one of those "I'm a PC" stickers and put it on my macBook.

  • mac os x, windows, linux, bsd, ug! every os sucks in its own special way

  • Err....you so stole "Whoa!! Dream Big!!" from the movie Juno.

  • yup, the movie had just come out and I thought that line was hilarious.

  • Linux has had virtual desktops years before OS X

  • I wish there were subtitles. I had a hard time understanding what they were saying.

  • how many times do smart pplz like me

have to say PC isn't from windows any

    computer is a PC

    PC stands for personal computer

  • Every-one knows PC stands for "Personal Computer" but Windows seems to have hijacked the word and (as you see from the tv adverts) everone calls microsoft windows computers - PCs and microsoft call there windows computers - PCs...

Logicaly it makes no sense but, thats how it is and thats how it will be.

    Microsoft Windows = PC.

    Apple Macintosh = Mac?

  • I think that the pc guy should be the mac and the mac should be the pc.

  • linux shut up ur logo is a penguin

  • Haha.

An apple is better as a logo? Haha.

Penguins eat apples for lunch I've been told.

  • "Some people have told me they don't think a fat penguin really embodies the grace of Linux, which just tells me they have never seen an angry penguin charging at them in excess of 100mph. They'd be a lot more careful about what they say if they had."

Torvalds, Linus (1996-06-09). Post to comp.os.linux.announce newsgroup

  • i love that. No matter how many times i read it i love it.

  • The only problem with Linux is that it has a steep learning curve, whereas Apple keeps things really simple for an easy transition from a PC to a Mac.

  • Yeah linux needs an easier way to install programs.

  • Is it possible to create something easier to use than the Add/Remove function in distros like Ubuntu?

  • Yes! Think of in Macs or windows, windows you double click the icon and click run and in Macs you drag the icon to the apps folder-- simple.

  • Think of Ubuntu in GNOME where you double click (I believe it is a single click in KDE by default) an icon (or if you don't have the "icon" (packaged binary) on your computer go to Applications -> Add/Remove, type the program name, check the box next to the program name, and click install.

  • Oh, well that sounds easy. Still Ubuntu devs should make it easier! :-P

  • How easier can it be then to download a package, double click it, click install and enter your password?

  • All I have installed is Compiz and GNOME dock, they took some console commands to work.

  • Yes, that works too. But then, that works on everything that has Linux on it. Packages work on Debian based systems (like Ubuntu).

  • i've never tried the others, but i like my PC, cos i'm a gamer, primarily, and i've always used it and never had trouble. if the tide turns and the other brands become better, i'll probably consider buying one, but for now, i'm gonna stick with what i know.

  • a bit harsh on the mac,but still cool.

  • I have windows xp on 1 computer, windows xp and ubuntu on 1 computer, ubuntu only on 1 computer, and i usae dsl on my older computer that used to have windows 98

  • who ever makes these are nerds but Linux are awesome

  • Audio suck!

    cant`hear a thing...

  • this shood be edited

    fatty=pc

    cool guy=mac

    normal guy=linux

    or cool guy=linux

    normal guy=mac

  • i cant hear a word!!

  • subtitles or sound improvement, please?

  • why does everyone think it's so clever to bring linux into the picture?

  • Because linux is ignored. and alot of people in the US or Canada are braught up to use windows. most people i know have no idea what linux is untill i tell them about it. So it's nice to see the what should be the best OS competing with the others. why do you think game company make games for windows... Because windows will bring more sales because it's more popular. But one day, hopefully linux will be the popular one. It's safer and more reliable.

  • not doubting linux's superiority, just referring to these 'mac pc' commercial remakes

  • companies make more games for windows because microsoft buys the company.

I also agree that one day linux will be the popular one.

  • lawl, windows gets glitches in a snap, it would take a complete dumbass to get a glitch on a mac

As for linux, im not sure, dont have it

  • yeh? have you tried setting up a wireless network with airport? lose ur WEP keys much?

OSX is glitchy. Not as bad as vista, but still pretty glitchy in places.

  • i have set up a wireless network with just airport.easy peasy.

i love mac.but id much rather have linux then windows.iv tried all of them.

  • dude, i cant hear what youre saying

  • The fat guy is the mac ?? dont think so lol...

  • no no no you got it all wrong the fat guy is suposed to be the fat guy and one of the other guys is mac

  • LOL... CALLING ALL NERDS!!!!!

  • I have Ubuntu installed on this macbook as a secondary OS (for windows apps, once I get Ubuntu to recognize the airport). I can say from personal experience that Leopard is much faster (I keep Ubuntu at lowest graphical setting) and more fluid. As far as security, that's why I need to get the internet to work; so I can install Wine :| That's bout as secure as an brick wall, but seems to come as a clumsy tradeoff.

Both OS's are far superior to whatever Microsoft can crap out of course.

  • so little software for the penguin, especially on the high end

  • errr, not really

There is so little useless trialware, malware, vaporware, and useless proprietary freeware.

    Theres a difference

  • so what does linux have that competes with final cut pro? or dreamweaver?

  • Jahshaka and NVU

So where is the package managers with windows and mac? Where is compiz fusion, or a quality partition editor like gparted? Where is the live distro? Where is the flexibility and opensource? Where is the gIFT? Where is the unrivaled security, and nearly unhackable distros? Where is the freedom, and where is the speed? Where is the stability, and where is the humanity driven projects? Where is the kde4, and the gnome 2.2

You know nothing about Linux, just a zealous pawn

  • ht tp://ww w. oreillynet. com/mac/blog/2003/04/mac_os_x_unix_package_manageme. html

    ht tp://developer. apple. com/documentation/Porting/Conceptual/win32porting/Articles/3dgraphics. html

osx is based on freebsd, an open source os

i was trying to =find even 1 major motion picture made with jahshaka, i found zero

nvu is written for all platforms but is nowhere near what dreamweaver is, as a program, lol!

  • true that linux provides a bit more security than osx, but its limitations and need for command line usage (sometimes), makes it pale in comparison. are you saying that osx is slow?

you know nothing about osx, just an ignorant penguin worshipper

  • Lol, mac is based on opensource, but is so proprietary, that I am considered a pirate if I want to change my software on my iphone/ipod, or install mac software on non mac hardware. I honestly like mac, as an operating system, The thing I am not too hot on is the philosophy, the unflexibility, and the community. The fact that the mac forums are harshly censored makes me feel ill...

Jahshaka is a new kid on the block, and dreamweaver works on wine.

anyways, linux and mac are both quality os's

  • it is vista that is a pile of junk, and we should both be able to agree on that.

Like I say, I like mac, dont like its philosophy though.

  • agreed. vista is worse than pile of shit!

  • what 'philosophy' are you not hot on? what flexibility is missing? amd processors? what is bad about the mac community and what makes the linux community better? i'd go to third party, independent forums. i have never been to one, never knew they were censored. only one i've really ever gone to was 'revision3'

yeah, they should just hand over their 80+ million lines of code? nah, don't think so....

  • This was made on a PC but I DO OWN a Mac though. I was forced to buy a mac for school and I hate the damn thing there are so many flaws that just make it more time consuming to use.

  • oh really? why were you 'forced' to buy one for school? are you saying that the osx kernel is unstable? what os was used to produce this?

  • I'm not saying Leopard is unstable, I don't like it. I have MacBook with a duel core core 2 duo and it is somehow slower than my 4yr. old PC Pentium 4.

This video was edited on XP. I will give you the benefit that Vista is a pile of shit though.

Now that I own a PC and a Mac I don't see what all the hype about Macs are, XP is way better than Tiger or Leopard in my opinion.

  • please explain in what ways xp is better than osx.

  • For starters you can CUT and PASTE within the actual OS, there is and UP "folder" button, programs tell you when they crash instead of just disappearing, ...Windows Media Player; iTunes has to be one of the worst media organizers in the world, video codecs; macs barely support anything other than what is developed by apple, oh... and there's a right-click out-of-the-box. Look, the list goes on, I'll just end with SLI and Crossfire.

  • Nothing, but Premiere totally PWNS Final Cut. Final Cut just makes everything that was easily done with one step into two or three. Overlly complex in my opinion. Plus After Effects used with Premiere makes Final Cut a useless program.

Final Cut and After Effects don't work as well together.

  • final cut is the outgrowth from premeire, not the other way around. i have a long list of major motion pictures done with fcp. i have never seen a list for premeire. where is it hiding?

  • then maybe this is needed: ht tp://w ww. virtix. com/fcp/index. asp

  • AVID Owns all video editors

  • hmmm, final cut pro has won academy awards. has avid? (major motion pictures are edited in final cut pro)

  • Look, Adobe After Effects is the industry standard, Final Cut is used to put all the video from After Effects together in a timeline, add some last minuet touches and then put some transitions in.

  • stopped reading at "Premiere totally PWNS Final Cut."

    hahahaahah fucking noob.
