  • This is why my, faith, testimony and dedication to our savior keeps going on. Am a firm to it.

  • they sang this song for all saints mass on sunday, twas amazing

  • That was so heart-warming. ♥ Our pioneers have sacrificed a lot. Great video and song!

  • The flight from Illinois was a hellish ordeal. Little is said of the constant raids by gangs from Illinois and Missouri almost all the way to Utah.

  • I went on Trek this summer with my stake and we sang this hymn as we were moving along. I have so much love and respect for the pioneers who sacrificed so much so I could have the Gospel. My testimony has grown so much from that experience and this song represents so much of what I learned.

  • The is one of the most beautiful, heart felt videos I have seen.... Times where so much harder but there was geninue care for one another !!! Now times are easier with a general lack of care for one another.... Not everything gets better with time...

  • I am eternally grateful for the examples they set of obedient Saints willing to do whatever the Lord commanded them. The many sacrifices and hardships the pioneers endured, they are a great inspiration for me personally as a youth in these latter days. The great amount of faith and love they had for the Lord and Gospel strengthens my testimony of what we can achieve with the Lords guidance. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

  • I want to thank you for posting this at this moment I am rather scared of satans power and this has very well comforted me :) two days ago I just got back from Trek and I have to say it was hard but it was so much fun!

  • This really captures the emotions and hardships the pioneers went through, awesome video!

  • Best rendition of this song.

  • great

  • My Great Grandfather arrived in SLC via a handcart journey. In his journal he records the event thus, "Arrived in the Valley after a plesant journey." I cannot imagine a journey such as that as plesant. I wonder how many of us could do that today if needed?

  • Inspiring no matter what your faith may be...thanks!

  • very good movie clip..

  • Honor to the Church (I was raised, but I'm separate). Use this medium here to describe the Meadow Mountain Massacre. I'm a Felon. Even the Church can be wrong, at times. I'm thinking that Lord of Hosts has laid it all flat and plain. Honor to Y'alll, Honor to the Lord. Honor to the Mennonites and the Amish.

  • I was raised Mormon, and I'll always Love you folk

  • I come here to listen to the music I grew up with. My family came across pretty much the same routes as others, hand cart or wagon, train and by horseback or on foot. Amidst the tears I shed at the thought of my ancestors endurance at such an arduous journey, I see the comments. I smile and go on. Nothing will change some, and a word might change a few. Perhaps they will realize when they pass through the next decade what hardships people must go through. I silently go on.

  • Nice video! And thanks for posting that link in the description.

  • This is from that movie Legacy, isn't it?

  • May we never forget the trials and tribulations of our people in their struggle to the New Zion. They are us and we are them. As they fought tooth and nail to establish the Preparatory Kingdom of God on this earth, may we fight to protect her and further her cause.

  • What a beautiful video and story.....almost as good as Star Trek

  • I'm a descendant of William Clayton, who wrote the words to "Come Come Ye Saints" and this is by far the best rendtion of the song by the Choir I have ever listened and the video element really adds to it. Great job!!!!

  • @b7271951 - I'm a descendant of Luke S. Johnson, who pulled a tooth that was bothering Brother Clayton along the trail. Not to compare that with writing Come, Come Ye Saints, but it's the closest connection my family has with this great hymn. :-)

  • @slksfca - That sounds like a very good family connection and of great value and relief to him. :-)

  • Page 30 of the hymnbook. Yet, it was lowered on half step down to "G" for easier singing for the men when they hit the high notes. Yet, I do miss the earlier key of "Ab"

  • Although I am Catholic, and not a Latter Day Saint, I tip my hat to this, the most American of religions. What a beautiful video!

  • @jaykrasne Most of my friends have either been LDS or Catholic, lol.

  • I didn't know until a few years ago that my LDS ancestors were pioneers who made this trek, some of whom didn't make it.

  • This is my favorite version. I can imagine the tribulations and the hope the early Saints experienced on the trek. Thank you for posting this.

  • i love this movie

  • They had more carts than wagons.

  • I cant stop crying when I see this video. Those poor people that were forced to leave by force - thier homes in Illinois. I to have been teased all my life. The people that fell into water when wagon slid off mud rain soaked trail - They are in deep trouble. Wet clothes, no time to dry out, exposure, poor food. There were not hotels, restaurants to stop and warm up.

Does anyone know what they ate while on the trail? Roots, grubs? dry goods? Salted meats? ripsaw4360@verizon.net

  • @pambeth92 My ancestors was one of the many that came from Nauvoo during this time. True, it was grueling in what they had to do, but they knew that the future for them was where they were to settle down at. Now, my family name has some decent size there in the Wasatch Valley which some of them migrated up into E. Idaho.

  • I cannot express how much this song means to me. This was one of my favorite records when I was a kid. So glad to find a video of it. Thank you.

  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints operates the many sites and attractions known as Historic Nauvoo. historic nauvoo*net; 217-453-2237

  • Best Version of this beautiful song.

  • dear brian8793 excuse me but I think that your comment is not so spiritual because in every country are million of brothers and sisters really faithfull not just on the united states. so I think you can not say that the USA is the only country remeber 1 thing "WE ARE ALL SON OF GOD"

  • "We'll find the place, which God for us prepared."

    All is well.

    ALL IS WELL!

  • @xoyxi I have to agree with you.

@brian8793 I have felt the spirit and seen the resolve of people all over this world. Our beloved country is not the only place for God to call home...this world is his home as he is the one who created it.

  • Right. When the song says "We'll find a place, that God for US prepared," we're referring to all of God's children. We believe that we are all God's children.

I take non members to Church with me all the time. Everybodies welcome. Also, you can take comfort in knowing that nobody is there to make money......

  • I don't believe people who have not had the opportunity to read The Bible, or be baptized will be held responsible in God's eyes.

    I do believe this though:

"Jesus is the only way of salvation because He is the only One who can pay our sin penalty (Romans 6:23)."

Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).

I know Christ is Son of God,and the only way by which a person can receive eternal life

  • @brian8793 Agreed.

  • huh???

  • I can't believe these people, these amazingly brave and spiritual people. The United States is the only Country that could be home of Jesus Christ's Church.

It's true people. It's real, and it's true:)

  • I thought the pioneers travelled with handcarts... where did the wagons come from?

  • The pioneers first made it to Salt Lake City on July 24, 1847...in wagons. The handcart companies don't come along for years, almost 10 years before they came along. 10 handcart companies traveled to Salt Lake City from 1856 to 1860. And that's where Willie and Martin enter the picture.

  • Oh. I did not know that. Thank you very much for the info!

  • @DandC25v12 Eleven handcart companies, the 11th arrived at This is the Place Heritage Park on July 22, 1997 for the Sesquicentennial Mormon Trail Wagon Train 150 years. We were one of those handcarts.

  • @DandC25v12 Read "The Price They Paid" which is a very good examination of the handcarts and why they were needed; primarily to save money. Brigham Young also thought they could save time since the Saints would not have to spend hours rounding up their animals in the morning.

  • @Doliath when the handcart companies traveled they had supply wagons with them to carry the flour rations and tents etc. The Willie and Martin handcart companies were also accompanied by the Hunt and Hodgett wagon companies that were completely separate but traveling at the same time. Elder Lund has a great historical fiction book on the Willie and Martin companies "Fire of the Covenant" I was rereading it just last night. It's really great!! I'd definitely recommend it!

  • @Doliath Not every company went by handcart.

  • I want to use this in a lesson-can I download to my computer?

  • There are programs on the internet that let you download videos off youtube. This video is 25 megs, and most E-Mail providers don't like attachments that big!

  • Our forefathers endureded long suffering, tears, blood and pain to pave the way to bring about gods true church on earth. I cried when that bull got up after the woman prayed for god to save him. I can't stop crying to our foefathers and thier sacrafices. Even though i am a convert, i feel a part of this fammily. How much more persecution must we face.

  • Let us do what the pioneers did! Let us move foward with faith and endure to the end!

  • This music video brought tears to my eyes. <3

  • Come to Church!

The spirit of The Lord gives you the courage to cry anytime you must. I cry all the time:)

  • There's programs out that that let you download these. The video can't be bought any where. I combined a bunch of clips from the movie Legacy to make this.

  • @DandC25v12 there is a program, esp for Firefox called "Download Helper" . do a search in google for this.

  • I am grateful for the early saints for staying strong thru der trials and establishing the true church of God here on earth

  • My great great great grand mother walked barefooted to Salt Lake City. God bless her.

  • BEAUTIFUL VIDEO!

  • This is my favorite arrangement of Come, Come, Ye Saints.

  • Beautiful video! I love the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's version of the song, too. I especially like the scene at the end where the boys are running to tell the saints in the wagon train the happy news that the soldiers are back. That was such a touching scene with the young soldier greeting his wife and child.

  • That was amazeing!

  • wow

  • **sighs** this is my favorite version of this song!

  • My Comment- Part 3/3

At the end of each verse it says:

"All is well! All is well!"

They knew that everything would be fine in the end, even if they lost loved ones. They knew that they could be together again as a family for time and all eternity. Everything would work out and be well.

Thank you so much for posting this song.

  • My Comment- Part 2

Also in the 2nd verse it says:

"Our God will never us forsake"

Again with the trails/hardships. They KNEW that God would never forsake them. He would never abandon them. With that I know He will never abandon me.

  • My Comment- Part 1

As I watched this video I got chills and I felt the spirit so strong.

In the 2nd verse it says:

"Why should we mourn or think our lot is hard?

Tis not so, all is right."

The pioneers went through so much. When ever I think that my life is hard I think back on the pioneers who walked 1,000 of miles and what hardships they went through and for one of them to write this song and for them to sing it, I really do not think I should complain about my life being hard.
