  • ok. why are they comparing cebu and cdo? na kung buot huna hunaon, pareha ra mga bisaya gapuyo oi. Cebu of course is the Philippines' oldest city. so expected jud na na mas nauna sila ug progress and i think it is larger than cdo. ang cdo naman, it's an active city. buildings are rising everywhere. new hotels, malls, etc. international airport is about to open.which means international people are coming in.

• I really think there's no need to pit cities between each other. There's no competition between cities in the first place. Cebu, CDO and Davao have their own niceties. They're not perfect, but they are unique in their own right. They started differently, they have different cultural backgrounds, they grow independently of each other. They have different ways of approaching certain urban issues.

And people who are pitting these cities against each other are causing more harm than good.

  • Why is it that Filipinos keep pulling each other down? A city is booming fast. It's obvious. Why the need to compare it with other cities? Why not congratulate the city instead of making comments like "we were there first!" "Layo pa mo kaayo". Who's competing? You're pitting cities belonging to the same country.

Mao walay asenso ang nasod tungod sa mga TALANGKA MENTALITY. Grow up!

Still a long way to go Cagayan de Oro however, keep it up. You're on the right track. Congratulations!

  • Nice Video for visitors, businessmen and investors.

  • ..yehey go

  • da cdo recently rmo ngkaSM. Here in cebu on the way n ang SM mall of the pacific..and it will be one of the largest in the world......layo p kaayo mo.

  • @TheFatboysamurai But pas2 ang CDO mag generate og income becoz of agricultural activities that produces crops and vegetables w/c is from Bukidnon bound to cdo till rest of the world. accrding from the economic study, cdo is one of the fastest growing city in the philippines. imagine , in a few years, cdo became one of the major cities in the philippines... ^^

  • Geographically, CDO is the gateway to the food basket of Philippines(Mindanao) and it's booming, ma-apsan rana ang Cebu.:)

  • louiechico: ayaw pug dauta ang cagayan part. palangga kau na nato tanan. then i dont think cities in visayas and mindanao can par with cagayan de oro except cebu and davao. were definitely the 3rd progressive city in the visayas-mindanao region. ug karun nia ko dari sa "istates", altho tsada jud dari daghan kau maadtuan pero at the end of the day, wajuy makalupig sa cdeo. • nicely done, i hope to visit in the near future.thanks for posting.

  • By the way, before I leave, may I ask, whatever happened to the big mall project of Landco that's suppose to rise at the back of San Agustin Cathedral? The mall project of Ayala's (definitely not the Alegria Hills!)? I remember all of these when former Mayor Emano, in his regular Saturday Sandy101(is this station already reformatted?just asking..) gig, proudly announces the several projects that suppose to raise the bar of CDO's cityscape...I'd love to hear from u guys..

  • I haven't heard of this project but if it was shelved then good. I wouldn't want to see a mall beside the river or a church. I still prefer the slightly laid-back environment of Cagayan. It doesn't matter if Cagayan is not like Dumaguete or Bacolod. Cagayan is Cagayan and Cagayan is not just Divisoria btw. As for IT companies, this video shows you that IT is improving or starting in the city. Have you been to Iligan, Gingoog and Butuan?

  • These are also part of Misamis Oriental so it's also good if these cities improve. The new bridges are a big improvement and there are new roads that are not visible if the usual route one takes is always through Divisoria. I've never used the altis as a way to promote or introduce Cagayan and I wouldn't have noticed it until my friend told me because I rarely take taxis.

  • The one thing I missed from my childhood is seeing the bamboos from the hill near Camp Alagar which has been leveled to give way to residential areas, so you see, that is the price of progress and I hope Cagayan doesn't succumed to too much "progress".

  • > because I rarely take taxis

I mean I take jeepneys or use a private vehicle. Although the transportation is another matter which I think is a problem in our country.

  • Ayaw lang jud mo kalain nako ha?I love the city so much that I can't allow other cities to go past it.Sayang jud kaayo mga potentials sa syudad..Benchmarking strengths from other cities doesn't hurt;it could even help!Let's face the reality:CDO has a lot of catching up to do.Infra, direct investments, transpo(the altis-pride is so worn-out!),tourism, IT-these must be worked on closely, and FAST!Let's not wait for Iligan, Gingoog or Butuan to overtake us..that'll be scary!

  • I repeat. UGLY CITY HALL! Hahahaha! Why don;t you just take a lead among Philippine cities by constructing a city hall something like London's? Hehehe...far-fetched, but as the cliche goes IF THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY!Or perhaps, a minimalist building harnessing natural lighting and airconditioning? Next, CDO has been sidetracked by the likes of Dumaguete and Bacolod in attracting big CSR companies such as Teletech and Teleperformance. what's wrong? Think harder! or better yet, WORK HARDER!

  • It's a pity if you got used to living in Cebu because the term FAST RISING,which is commonly tagged to CDO by many proud Cagay-anons like me,doesn't usually hold water. When I go home,it feels like nothing signficant has changed-chaotic traffic, dirty sidewalks(if there are sidewalks anyway!),ugly ciy hall.We can do better than brandish the latest Altis cabs and whitewater rafting! This is a bay city that's suppose to rock! I love to see CDo being at par with Cebu. Work harder!

  • aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh...

    there's no place, like HOME!!!!

  • i love you anithaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • I miss CDO!!!!

  • Good! I just wonder though when it said that it's one of the safest cities in the world (?)

  • I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Comparable to CDO in population. One of the more decent cities in the US. Much richer than CDO but has much more robbery and homicide.

  • Well, all I can tell you is ,its really one of the safest cities.I was born there,I spent most of my life there, and that never did I experienced feeling unsafe even during those times when the country was in turmoil.I live in CA. now.

  • go go go cagayan de oro!!! aangat tayo cdo!!! lupig sila!!!

  • huhuhu! now im missing CDO!

  • be good cdo!
