I believe I love animals enough and I feel I have enough ambition that nothing like this would ever happen in any creation of mine. So should I consider working for something like this that could go SO wrong, or do I not bother trying first?
AGAGGGAHHUUHUGGH!!! I have this weird... (i don't know if "dream" is the appropriate word to use after watching this... : / ) thought of creating a zoo... and unless I consider my incapable or not willing enough, should I completely abandon the thought of this being something worth working towards? I love animals with all my life, and although I don't know everything there is to know about animal care, I still have time in my life to decide if I want to study this.
And when you think it can't get worse, poor Lucky is being bullied by Queenie and do you think McCusker will even admit it....what a poor excuse for a human....I hope that the day will come in his life he will have to answer for his stupidity and arrogance..I wish both Queenie and Lucky could go to a sanctuary to live the life they both should be living....

To Snik1953 - the hold up to freedom is the zoos very stubborn and heartless zoo director who is a spokesman for the AZA American, Zoo Asso. He would be considered derelect if he admitted his failings in keeping her a healthy and happy elephant. Elephants are the biggest money makers for the zoo and he is not going to let that go.
I never knew this about elephants. I love going to the SA Zoo to see animals from places I'll never be able to visit, but having this brought to my attention saddens me. No, she should not be kept in this manner, and should be allowed to spend her remaining years at the sanctuary. Animals, like people, need to be around their own kind.
It really doesn't matter who "owns" the zoo, or the property for that matter. What matter's is an elephant is & has been denied a good healthy life. The Elephant Sanctuary is offering her a place to do elephant stuff, and enjoy the remaining years of her sad life. Even in Texas it's illegal to neglect or mistreat animals domestic or "wild". The Animal Rescue of San Antonio should step in & get involved.
Unfortunately, the zoo is privately owned. All the city has over them is the lease of the land the zoo is on, and the zoo has been far from willing to send Lucky off.
omg what a kind of selfesh person would do that to an animal. when you know what it needs and have the resorces to do it with no cost. he is just a selfesh person i hope he is miserable....
Everyone says zoos are terrible places for animals and that they should all be boycotted or discontinued... I want to change that... I really do.
