@tenrazo215 Yes, you need two flags from two of the three referees (shinpans) to get a point. First to get two points wins unless its overtime, then it's a sudden death one point match.
@tenrazo215 yup, well thats the basic use.. if they cross them it means it was shallow or many other things.. well the main thing is yes it does mean that someone scored when their flag is raised
In my oppinion this is a great warrior, this is how a swordsman should fight, mind body and spirit!Thank you for posting this video and thanks to Masahiro Miyazaki for his genius! He is an inspiration to any kendo practitioner, i wanna start my training again and mabe someday reach his level if that is possible and i have the tallent and dedication for it:)
you should see how he looked in the world kendo championships in 2006. He wasn't playing, I believe was either coach or manager of the Japanese team, but his hair was straight up white, haha.
Who dislikes this vid? It better be an accident...

@tenrazo215 it symbolises the fighters... notice how each one has a colored knot on their backs??

@bustillomoreno yes, I see. So when the referee raises a flag, does it mean that man scored?

actually, he's fast not only because of his arms but because of his hara and the strength of coming from his feet

This is PURE art. When instinct, full technique control and explosive energy act simultaneously, ths just happens: ART.
Thanks a lot Mr. Miyazaki.
