Agreed Evil Twin. Carroll did have a intrest in young girls but it was all out of innocence. He was inspired by the innocence and purily of young girls. Alice Liddell was just his inspiration. He also had relationships with grown women so I don't know why people make him out to be such a monster.

Whether he was or not is beside the point. The point was did he act on it. Even if he did like Alice in that way, as far as we know he never abused her or did anything wrong to her, so it doesn't really matter.

True enough! It's very much worth mentioning that Alice and Charles remained friends until his death. And she was very much into adulthood by then. It surely doesn't sound like she had any animosity toward him.

Also, how many pedophiles are out there? I don't mean in prison, I mean out here in the real world? You could assume a great majority of pedophiles don't act on their interests; so it makes no difference whether they're attracted to children, dogs, trees, or their own mother.

Theres tons of theories that suspect he was a pedophile, but thats all they are, theories, theres no facts. If he really was don't you think there would be more evidence than a section of his diary torn out? Lets say he did abuse her during that period, why was he able to meet with her after that period? Simple, he was just her friend. Only those who tore the pages knew.

I don't remember if the number was stated. All I remember is a "section" was torn out, that could be anywhere from a few pages to a month worth of entries. Try looking on some sites, it may not say how many days, but they may list the date range that was torn out, so you could count the number of days that are missing.

No one knows for sure if Lewis and Alice were romantically involved with each. The pages from his diaries that would explain that period in both their lives mysteriously went missing.

The the two were more than platonic friends (as much research would indicate they were) it was not forced through the arranged relationships and it would have been a relationship shared.

Baring any untold harmful physical or sexual abuse, the story would be an interesting story for the silver screen, I think.

Actually, someone already wrote a fiction novel about it. Katie Roiphe's Still She Haunts Me... But the torn pages of his diary have been found, I think, and they were about how the Liddells asked Carroll to keep in the shadows for a while, because rumors about him and Lorina (Alice's eldest sister) or the Liddell sisters' governess were spreading a bit. I'm not sure how reliable my source was. I only found it online.
