This video is misleading. There are some styles of Decker's UGGs Australia that are still made in New Zealand like the Nightfalls and the Ultras for instance and they say so on the label. There has got to be a better video or tutorial about detecting fake UGGs.

the differences are minor.. so the fur isn't quite as thick...the label on the INSIDE says a different origin... buttons are diff material..souls are SLIGHTLY narrower...they are both extremely comfy and the BIGGEST difference is the price!! the reason i buy the genuine uggs is simply because i have enough money and support the designers. if it was out of my budget i would prob buy fake pairs... just sayinggg lol

An American company bought a small ugg company in aus about 10 to 15 years ago.. then bought the rights to the name so it couldn't be copyrighted it was a huge scandal back then... they tried to sue every company/farmer who used the word ugg but lost the battle.. There is a sure way to find out!! Inside the boots, there is a label, where the sun logot changes color, from black to withe when you turn it 90 degrees. If you buy you,re shoes from a ugg store, there is a note inside, telling you how to ind out if they are real or not. But i LOVE all my Emu boots so much more!! (the ones with merrino wool is the best) But Emu beats Ugg any day..

I have a pair of emu, bear paw, and real uggs. Bear paw's are the worst quailty and emu get scrunch up after a few wears. Real uggs are more expensive but trust me it's a better buy.
People are willing to buy UGGS because it says UGG in the back. Truth is, I am willing to pay $50 for something that says, "Bearpaw", or "emu". To me, they're the same, and as a bearpaw owner they are probably a tint warmer than real Uggs. Just saying.

My daughter has Uggs regular and after just a couple months they look so soft and flimsy. Look smushy. I have Bearpaw and they really stand up to the Minnesota Winters. There is something for everyone! I want to buy some Vegan boots made in this style. I just read in the news about Uggs type boots not being enough support and causing some major foot problems. It depends where you get your Uggs most likely if you buy your uggs from a unsecured website they could be fakes and be made in New Zeland or Australia but as a matter of fact I bought my uggs from Nordstrom and they are 100% genuine made in china if your looking to buy real uggs buy them from the SECURE website or from a store that carries them.(: hope this helped

Ugg is a generic name for sheepskin boots in Australia and the name cannot be registered here as it is common language for that type of boot, anyone can call their boots Ugg, but they should be made from Australian sheepskins and be made in Australia also as the they have been for the last 50 years.

US citizens the word Ugg is a common word here in Oz and you cannot register a known common use word, although Virgin is a common use word and they will sue you for its use in a business name?????

@webaroos No, All the Ugg Boots are made in China. Ugg Australia is actually American Company founded by Australian guy. He named his company 'Ugg Australia' so that his brand could be distinguished from the other Ugg boots available. Basically, 'Ugg Australia' is only the brand name. It's not because it's made in Australia or materials coming from Australia.

This day and age, with the real boots Made in China by UGG Australia (how?), and most likely a great deal of fakes coming from there too (don't believe the "Made In" label on items you know are counterfeit!), what is the practical difference between them other than one costs a lot more? (Yes, I know one has actual sheepskin, but it still does not explain how much genuine UGG cost...)

Real uggs say made in china (unless you live in australia because there are two UGG factories one in Australia and one in china if you don't live in Australia your uggs come from china) and have a shiny tag inside with a picture of the logo that changes colours when you move it around. on the back it says UGG but the middle G is bigger than the other two letters. Trust me my friends dad works in the UGG factory.

There is a sure way to find out!! Inside the boots, there is a label, where the sun logot changes color, from black to withe when you turn it 90 degrees. If you buy you,re shoes from a ugg store, there is a note inside, telling you how to ind out if they are real or not. But i LOVE all my Emu boots so much more!! (the ones with merrino wool is the best) But Emu beats Ugg any day..

I have a pair of emu, bear paw, and real uggs. Bear paw's are the worst quailty and emu get scrunch up after a few wears. Real uggs are more expensive but trust me it's a better buy.

People are willing to buy UGGS because it says UGG in the back. Truth is, I am willing to pay $50 for something that says, "Bearpaw", or "emu". To me, they're the same, and as a bearpaw owner they are probably a tint warmer than real Uggs. Just saying.

My daughter has Uggs regular and after just a couple months they look so soft and flimsy. Look smushy. I have Bearpaw and they really stand up to the Minnesota Winters. There is something for everyone! I want to buy some Vegan boots made in this style. I just read in the news about Uggs type boots not being enough support and causing some major foot problems. Best if I only wear mine for short periods. Dont get those stiff as board cheapo ones. Target had some great ones 2 yrs ago I know
