WOOOT WOOT! Somebody with similar goals as me. I just bought a running ej22t with 255k miles on it. Now I'm looking for a place to start. I figure the bottom end needs new bearings and rebuild. No clue as to what direction I'm gonna go in. Also are you running stock bottom end and what do you put down power wise?
Awesome dude! I've followed this project since you were running NA... it's a huge improvement!
All in all, what would you say you spent on doing the EJ18T build, as far as initial cost? As a broke high school kid, low-buck turbo builds excite me ;)
By the way, the car sounds awesome too. Can't beat the rumble of a subie flat four...
I'd say a little over $3000. Only because I added extra stuff for insurance purposes. Yeah, you can spend as much for a swap but I wanted to see how much potential this little block has, and believe me I'm impressed. Some guys do it for as low as $400 but reliability goes out the window.
Yup, I went through there one time with the car, I just had to go back with the camera. No cars, minimum traffic lights, no pedestrians. The perfect straight.
just got a 93 ej18 impreza wagon for free, hope to build it like this...

@douger0500 I'm still running the stock EJ18E shortblock, putting down 300hp (255whp at the front wheels) @ 20psi.

Oh alright... I'd probably be the kid who tries to do a turbo set-up for $500 and learn the hard way, haha :)
