  • at 2:22 can you tell me what you did please do get that sound just like that?

  • hi mate i have an emx is it possible to play your own samples through it using the keyboard section.cheers

i know the esx does it.

  • the song at 2:07 is a demo song that comes with the emx

  • @jonasty42 actually its not. that was my own recording of it before i realised there was a preset version of it. the last two bars of the preset need the notes changing though.

  • @jonasty42 2:07 is Anything can happen in the next half hour

  • @MrLemmonCake well if you have an emx go to B. 31 and play the sample song.

  • I want this so much ! But it's £400 :/ I'll just take it out my life saving XD :D

  • with the EMX u can do all the synt effects the same as with the microkorg? right? thx

  • @narchx yea and fuck loads more

  • Awesome:)

  • korg*

  • you make the song on the kog itself

  • do you..programme the songs into it or..did you make the songs on the elctribe itsself? like did you play it on a keyboard and the electribe is just a way of storing them and playing when you want or is it all the electribe?

  • can u plz post a tutorial for the feast and interlude 3 i hopefully getting mine for christmas and ii need a good tut so i can understand it how to use it better

  • you know on the emx can you just press play and itll play whatever you want it to?;)

  • i did this over two years ago, it seems so bad haha. this was when i just got my electirbe. but if you do think this is any good. look at a few other electribe covers i have on my youtube account. return to energiser, insomnia and blood sugar :)

  • how much does it cost mate

  • @mikael545 $449 - $499

  • what was the song at 0:42 sounded sickkkk

    cheers

  • feast

  • its the feast :)

  • that was my fave

  • The Feast!

  • Anything can happen was the best,

Holy Shit, you have real talent.

  • The Jonny Sniper Part was by far the Best, it was Awesome, keep up the good work mate:)

  • the feast is one of the best beats enter shikari has ever come up with!

also one of there best live songs :P

  • really nice, johnny sniper sounded pretty awesome, so did ok time for plan B

  • only fans will kow wot each and every part is! lol

  • So do you put pre recorded sounds onto this and then hit play while throwing a few effects on top or is everything done through this?

  • do you just plug it in to a keyboard and record it onto this and it save it?

  • no you programme it all through this, alough this can be used like a keyboard to record notes into it

  • no, silly. its programmed.

  • increase the bpm on some of the songs and it will sound muh better:)

  • song at 1:43 ?

    sounds so nice

  • whats the sontg at 1:56?

  • plan b.

  • ok, time for plan b.

  • i know william told mee

  • how many patterns at one time can they store?

  • endless. they compose whole songs consisting of multiple patterns, and it has card reader :)

  • how much r they to buy?

  • sick. doesn't sound EXACTLY like it, but will pretty much do.

  • hey can someone help me out here. Roland MC-808 or Korg EMX-1?

  • emx

  • how long did it take to learn how to use it?

  • pretty good william, those emxs look pretty complicated though, suppose like you said its difficult at first but comes with practise

    5 stars

  • i really want one but are they hard to use??

  • not particularly. if you play about with them loads and try and work on a few covers your skills get better over time and eventually you get used to working on patterns and creating the sounds your lookin for. so at first, quite hard to do complex things, but easy to program but once you get used to it, its all fairly easy.

  • Thanks :D

  • Sweet!! How much did u ay for that? Do u work the songs out by ear or is there a website or something?

  • average.

  • this was long over a year ago. watch some other video covers i've done.

  • i want one so bad.

  • yeah.. get one. I got mine last friday. It is so much fun :-)

  • nothing special

  • how do you use thee stuff?

first connect to cpu to make music than? dunno

  • connect to cpu? what?

The EMX-1 can be used as a stand-alone synth. Minimum requirements you need to use this is some headphones. That's all :-)

  • JONNY SNIPER DA BEST

  • wut electronics does Rou use>?

if u could tell me or point my in the right direction then that would be tops XD

  • From an interview last year:

Rou: Weve got a microKORG, the EMX and ES1 Electribes, KAOSS Pads 2 and 3, and the Radias

but for the second album he's changed the microKORG for the KORG R3

  • cheers m8....that really helps o.0

  • i think for live shows he still uses his original set up of the EMX, KP2, and microkorg, although sometimes he brings out the RADIAS

  • hey where's the interlude of sorry you're not a winner man? haha nice work mate!

  • hey!

how do these things work? i dont get it!

  • i when my dad went to america he got one for me

    lol only $250 LOL

there act £750 in england or like cheaper on ebay

    Im shite on it anyway.x

  • They are £439 in the UK, not £750 or anything even remotely like that! If you shop around you can buy one for £400 new. You won't get a new one in USA for $250 unless it is stolen.

  • Sounds pretty cool. One question is this Korg thing all you need to produce such sounds? If yes is it very expensive?

Keep it up man good work^^

  • yes, in this video nothing is used except everything that you can see. just this electribe, no microkorgs or laptops or anything. and yes, it is expensive. around £400 new, but they go for cheaper on ebay.

  • Comment removed

  • thats actuially nb b fair gwon matee !! how much it cost you nd how long did it take 2 do them ??

  • Everyone is all pissed at each other on this comment thread.... did anyone notice this dude's video? Nice work man....

  • haha cheers. i may upload another vid, coz this is really old now. and as too all the argumentative comments, i think i'll just delete them.

i only skipped over them, but i read something about not programming other bands synth lines and i thought; why not? whats to say rou didn;t buy his electribe all those years ago and program the prodigy tunes into it? if its the way people like to get to grips with it, then why stop them. i have tons of my own material now, this was just a was to start.

  • you do realise there's a preset on the EMX for anything can happen?

  • this video was taken over a year ago, after me having had the electribe about a week. on around page 7 of the comments on this video i replied to someone saying 'the pattern i have for anything can happen on this vid is one i did before i found the B.31 preset.'

  • Hmmm...

    Reminds Me Of Midnight Carnival

Check Them Out On Myspace I Think You'd Like Them If You Like Enter Shikari

  • Hmm... Nice One, My Point Is You're Insulting RouLIke For Promoting My Band, But You're Acussing Him Of Promoting His Own, So I'm Saying You Was Wrong That's All, Nothing To Big Aye?

Yeah I Don't Care Either, Yeah I Know I Just Can't Keep These Comments To Myself Seeing As This Is The First Comment Even Remotly About Proting Myself"

    Tom

  • whats the second song litle bit thats played

  • the feast

  • how do you programme them in? using what exactly lol? :P

  • there are 139 comments, im certain that has been covered before. im sure if you check through the pages you'll find it.

  • wow hes helpfull aint he

  • just don't want to waste my time replying to something that im sure i've replied to before, or that you could easily find out through other emx demo's and tutorials on youtube.

  • Sniper Sounded Awsome :D

  • Hi , i have one sinte korg triton, what ist the best option mx or sx?

  • hey

i have a really important question

whats better for beginners the em1 or the micrókorg?

  • well, do you want to begin playing the keyboard/synth kinda stuff, or begin learning how to use sequencers/drum machines. the Em-1 has two synth parts where u you input two synthlines to play back, as far as i know the synth sounds are fairly limited. and also it has around 8 drum parts i believe where you can learn the basics of drum machines.

the microkorg, however, has 37 mini keys, is full off pretty brilliant sounding pre programmed patches, and everything is there to learn how to play keys

  • what if you were to buy both? Im thinking of getting one, or both. From what I've learnt, do you play the tune on the microkorg, and record it or something into the emx? and then does the emx just play it back? or add stuff?

iv really confused myself lol. can anyone help?

  • well you've learnt wrong. i really cannot see, myself, why everyone is under the impression that a microkorg is needed for an electribe. all the sounds you need, really, are capable of being created by the EMX alone. It is full of synth and drum sounds as well as many other sounds, that you can pre-programme and sequence to simply press one button for playback. an electribe can be hooked up to a microkorg via midi, so that you can play one synth part on the emx through the microkorg,

  • People are well annoying when they comment asking whether you need a microkorg.

Can you even see a fucking microkorg in most emx videos?!

The emx is a groovebox it makes all its own sounds. Jesus.

  • I just bought an esx, spent ALL of my money but it seems like it was worth it, can somebody please tell me how to make/uplad samples and possibly tell me the settings i need for the enter shikari stuff? It'd be a massive help.

    Peace....

  • go on the enter shikari forum m8 (Y)

  • i'm on it.

  • i dont understand, can you just make these sounds and the drum beats n shit with just he emx 1? or do you need the microkorg?

    write back plz

    cheers.

  • I found out that the bottom numbers are the keys

  • i dont know how they work but it looks like a hardware version of fruity loops :P

plz correct me if im wrong tough

    nice tunes btw

  • kind of, but not really!

  • i wanna get one of these but im still curious how they work :S

  • r all these sounds on the emx really gud though

  • not in this video, this was when i first got the emx. these all sound shit here honestly.

  • sounds more like the fuckin venga boys lol

  • yeah!!

  • Whats the EMX1 and the ESX1?

  • EMX is the blue one here, its the synth version

ESX is the red one, no synth but it can sample

  • ESX has two synth parts i think actually. not as good though, no synth oscilator.

  • yeah i always wondered how they made their synths. Sounds bad compared to the emx though! haha

  • does it require any musical knowledge at all to program these things for enter shikari covers

  • It requires more than you might think.

  • you just need to know how to play the synth parts. and then you can program them using step edit

  • How do u program this in ?

Im considering getting one of these things for my band and wandering if its easy to do ?

  • its not that hard.. but it takes a little time to programme it.. u should defo get this!

  • do you need only the emx1

or do you need any other things any software or something like this

  • no, just the emx

  • okay thanks

  • :O awesome

  • talent pure talent

  • FUCKING COOLNESS!

  • s'good like.

How many synth patches does the emx-1 have?

  • what were the synth oscillator settings for Labyrinth?

  • Doe's anyone know roughly how much one of these are ?.

  • 150 upwards

  • brand new - £380

    got mine for 290 though

  • brand new in america, $500

  • SKILLS!

  • haha, did i hear someone sign into msn? seriously though, this is cool. i want one of these

  • nice one, saw em live at big day out, fuckinwe ll good live

  • that is sooo cool enter shikari are my favourite band ever love it!!

  • Tut? Good BTW.

  • for the first synth line, use drum part 041 to get that boom sound on SHIT

  • would u say it is hard to learn how to use the emx?

  • man this is Awesome :| ! , is this what Rou uses or does he use something else , that microkrog/microkontrol look great also

  • yeh altogether im pretty sure he has a microkorg, this electribe, and electribeSmkII,kaoss pads 2&3, and radias.

but live he only uses microkorg, kaoss pad 2 and electribe mx.

  • or you could use your emx to be creative and make your own songs rather than getting it coz that guy in that band has one ...

  • which i do... a lot. you know nothing about me, and what my EMX has on it outside of this video. so no need to assume that i just have enter shikari songs on there. poon

  • wats the difference between the emx and microkorg? do they do the same thing?

  • hey dude cheers for tutorial, helped alot. got it last tuesday n i havnt been off it LMAO.

il get a video response up

  • how do you record the synth lines?

  • how do you make your own beats though?

  • there are nine drum parts, so u can have like bass, snare, hats, crash, toms and loadsa percussion. and u can just record it in while looping 1-8 bar.

  • how much does the emx cost?

  • around 389.

but u could look on ebay for cheaper

  • please comment the notes for anything can happen on my comments in my page

  • how do you learn how ta use them? is it just trail and error or a big ass manual to read or sumink??? du u have ta have like a micro korg ta make the presets or can u do it all on emx-1

  • you can do it al on the emx. ive had an electribe before this one (EA1-mkii) so i was familiar with the way they worked. plus there is a manual too.

  • what setting did you use for the first song?

  • i don't know exactly what u mean. if ur asking if it is a preset it isn't.

soundwise i used unison - saw 6. i think filter was lpf or bpf with cutoff right up and some res. just mess about to get the sound you want.

  • sorry to be a dick, what tempo did you for the first pattern (Enter Shikari)

  • Do you know how Rou edited B.31, i've tried to get it to sound more like Anything Can Happen but its shit hard, i know he transposed a little bit but im not sure about effects

  • the pattern i have for anything can happen on this vid is one i did before i found the B.31 preset. what i now do is use synth part 4 on B.31, put it on LPF and turn the cutoff right up and a bit of resonance, sounds okay. otherwise mess about without to get whatever sounds. i know B.31 isn't exactly right, as the last two bars of the pattern are the wrong notes, so wht i did ( which worked really well,) was went into step edit and changed the notes one by one to the right ones.

  • SOMEONES ON MSN!

  • props man!

    thats dope

  • or ..you could make something original :P

  • i spot a keyboard/sytnh in the background

    what is it?

    x

  • im not used to any of the elctribe series so i'll jst say it. what do you mean by program the synth lines into the emx

  • well, u choose how many bars you want between 1 and 8. then there is a record button and u can just play the notes in and it records them, so then u can play it back and loop it etc.

  • alrite dude!!!

    this is phat!!

could you post me the tabs for these songs please!!!

    much apreciated :D

  • How did u get the timing rite on the feast?

    could u post please.

  • well its a 4 bar pattern.

im not sure what the tempo is. i tihnk i must have just played along to the metronome until it recorded right. notice how the first note isnt played as the play button is hit. i wait like a halfbeat. or something.

  • it starts on the 3r quaver ov the bar

  • half of enter shikaris stuff is all factory samples that have been transposed and slightly edited. the esx-1 one is so much more versitale compared to the emx.

    both good though.

  • the only shikari stuff i can find is B.31 which is anything can happen in the next half hour. there's not that much stuff.

  • I agree B.31 they used but is altered and slowed down unless this idiot does his research dont try to prove stuff. Nothing else is remotely similar!

  • Thinking bout gettin one of these. How would I connect it to a KP2 (Kaoss Pad 2) and an Amp, so i can control the EMX sounds with the KP2 (or maybe a KP3)

  • its got plent of lines out, midi, mono, stereo.

    very good.

i suggest getting the esx-1 though.

    its far better.

  • how, i thought the emx has more synth capabillities and u can sample stuff from amicrokorg onto it.

  • haveing a microkorg and a emx is just essentially having two synths.

and yes it can sample, but not well.

the emx is a powerfull synth, but an esx-1 paired with a workstation or r3 is far more versatile.

but they are both really good, dont get me wrong.

  • nah yoo dnt want an ESX1. if yo
