this song lifted me out of my bad depresion last night.it just slapped me in the face- good blues, soul loves ya back to life...Stunning piano player-what spirit...Too cool for school indeed!
I saq this clip last nite on the famous martin scorcese produced doco on the blues.this doco is called "red white and blue" it talks abt g.onions huge influence on clapton, beck etc. im guna buy a guitair now-frm inspired.
remember, the Blues Brothers originated on Saturday Night Live - where Paul Shaffer was the keyboardist and unofficial band leader (there was a formal band director). Shaffer was involved with other projects when they assembled the band for the movie, but he has played with them since.
You have to understand this, Steve "The Colonel" Cropper and Donald "Duck" Dunn were 2/3 of the group know as Booker T & The MG's (Memphis Group). They did "Green Onions". They were also the studio band for Stax Records. They played behind Sam & Dave. During "Soul Man" (Sam & Dave OR The Blues Brothers) you hear "Play it Steve", that's Steve Cropper.
Paul Schaffer did a great "Don Kirschner" when he had hair..He's very talented for a Canadian! It's rainy men catchy. However he gets a little finger frozen on some bars, maybe it's the CANADIAN SNOW that stiffens the fingers..
I guess paul shaffer was always bald lol their are just some songs that make you wish you played an instrument! For alot of people it was wipe out for me it was this and the horse- thanks for posting always brings a smile to my face!

Found you LOL! :P
Yip, I got Donalds autograph under the pickup cover of my Jazz Bass.
He bent over to grab a Blues Brothers Pamphlet, but when I handed him over my bass part he immediately went for that one first.

Hard to believe that Paul Shaffer was ever cool? Or was he?
Did they ever do Time is Tight?

compienz,
He was the original keyboard player on the Blues Brothers, but I think because he was signed with CBS, he was not allowed in the movie.
