  • HE IS THE MAN! ABSOLUTELY!!!

I LOOOVE HIM!! ♥ I just have the enormous pleasure to meet him the other day after a Recoil gig in Santiago, last november 3th... that was the BEST NIGHT IN MY LIFE!!!! Thank you ALAN FOR EVERYTHING...!!!! HE IS THE BOSS! ♥

  • Awesome :)

  • There's no question that DM is better with Alan. Ultra was uneven. Exciter sucked. Playing the Angel was a huge improvement over the previous two albums. I liked SOTU, but didn't love it. "Ghost" was a brilliant track, but it was a B-side.

And then you have all the albums with Alan. Black Celebration and Songs of Faith & Devotion are my two favorite albums ever. Don't forget Violator. It would be great if Alan worked on the next DM album, but I won't hold my breath.

    Nice video post BTW

  • Been a serious devotee since 1982.... A SERIOUS one. Alan shaped them into something very special. He is missed. Ben hillier has run his course with DM now. In my view Alan should produce the next album with Daniel and either Flood or Gareth. That could work because it would be a known quantity for alan and a return to ingenuity. I was lucky enough to be sitting about 10 feet to the side of Alan when he went on stage at the royal albert hall with DM after 17 years apart. It just feels right.

  • Thank you Alan, for making my teenage wonderful.

  • Alan, come back!

Devotee´s and Masses, join: Alan Wilder, back to Depeche Mode!! (A Facebook-group)

  • 1:33 what's that song?

  • @ergofobico It's "Black Box" off the album "Liquid".

  • I recently have been interested in Alan Wilder. This is a really good upload. Thanks for sharing this on the web.

P.S. Where did you get the music for this? from an album or other. I love it. thanks again.

  • @italy747 It's different songs from Alan's personal project, Recoil.

  • Alan was God's gift to the world. He is brilliant in every musical way! He was the glue for the DM sound. Thanks for this video!

  • Einfach nur genial der Mensch ;)

  • Exelent!! thanks!!!!!

  • Alan Wilder is without a doubt one of my biggest influences as a musician, besides Johnny Greenwood. I became an instant fan of DM back in 1990 when they released "Violator" and heard the songs on the radio, I was only 11 years old back then and I had to find out who they were. later on when I got a bit older I got myself an old used cheap keyboard and began to learn their songs from 'Violator" and their previous Albums. Alan is the sound of DM and I loved them when he was still in the band.

  • Ahh, listen to Recoil : Bloodline. Excellent work and very non-Depeche in that it was all about the MOOD, not the "pop" song structure. He used the same sounds to make something different. His work on Nitzer Ebb's "Ebbhead" was also extremely innovative for it's time. He offered different approaches, and to me they are very welcome.

  • @MrChrishines78 Gosh, very similar story to mine! :)

  • It is very clear that he will never come back to DM, and obviously the music of DM will never have that magic inut on studio and not even on live performances.

Alan Wilder needs DM too, because his best work was with them...and maybe to maintain his RECOIL solo project for the development of his personal satisfaction, it would give them extra motivation to keep going up together and make their best music the resto of their lives...tecnology is better, they have more experience..so, why not?

  • depechemode is not the same without alan.. after he left their music started going down and have not put out quality cds... in matter of fact the new cd they have really sucks... depechemode needs to get down on their knees and beg alan to come back...

  • @MrDmfan

I don't agree with you that the last DM Cd was crap, but thats a question of taste.

I agree that he shaped the sound and made a lot of DM songs even better.

In the meantime, after 2 Ben Hillier DM albums its time for a new sound, distorted synths are not doing it anymore. :)

Anyway, after the last bluesy recoil album, I really thought Martin would like it, cause he also loves the blues.

They definitely should work together...again. :)

  • I love Alan so much!

  • I like the video and the music but it is kinda sad..

    Greetings!

  • i find this really sad..

certainly their key moments were with him.
