  • Hey Just out of curiosity did you have to pull the block out in order to pull the cylinder? the reason i ask is because last summer the gasket between the block and the cooling head went on my KE 100 and im going to be replacing it within the next week or so and any advice on where to start would be helpful.

  • @Hicklife2112 Actually I didn't remove the engine at all the whole time. The cylinder head should come right off, and if I can remember correctly, it didn't even require the removal of the tank to do so.

Generally it's a VERY easy bike to fix, and a fun bike to learn mechanical skills on.

    Good luck!

  • Thanks for your response mate, I found the general rule is

Generic torque settings for bike engines.

    M10 35Nm

    M8 25-27Nm

    M6 10-12Nm

    M5 8Nm

These are a general rule for bolts into aluminium.

If you cant find any specs for your bike these will get you going.

    Cheers Thro

  • @throweyftw Sweet thanks for the reference mate!

  • Mate can you tell me the torque setting for the head bolts ?? Cheers thro .

  • @throweyftw Sorry mate, but I didn't have the manual when I did it, I just made sure it was tight down and even haha.

  • That problem is in the past, lol I got a 150cc now (: don't plan to keep it long though before I get a 250cc

  • @psylenc Alright! lol. Why go to a 250? They're pretty big and heavy... I think you should buy something like a Derbi, or Aprilia. They are really nice and very fast right out of the box!

  • @apricotsnms516 lol 250cc to big? that's all i can afford right now, otherwise I'd be riding a gsx-r 600! lol Don't forget I learned to ride period on a cbr1000rr.

  • is that a KE 175? I used to have a KD 175

  • @groutaone its actually a Ke100 but its pretty much the same (except less power) i hear the KDs were pretty fun

  • @apricotsnms516 I was never happy with my KD as I thought it needed more power

  • @groutaone yeah when it comes to power it fails. but its a nice thrashing around bike. or in my case an on road bike.

  • hey dude whats up lol I got a new scooters and ive spent roughly 200 on performance parts for it. now im just waiting on the new exhaust, ill make a vid eventually. started a scooter group here in cali lol

  • @psylenc sweet! glad to hear from u! is it a 150cc?

  • @apricotsnms516 I know right, how have you been? and no it's still a 50cc but i take it on missions dude lol recently it started losing critical speed going up hills so im trying to figure out why and why it takes forever to start.

  • @psylenc ive been ok lots of work... you are re-jetting the carb when installing heavy modifications? right?

  • @apricotsnms516 I havent put them on yet except the roller weights and its been acting weird ever since i cleaned the carb

  • @psylenc did you check the height of the float? that might cause it.

  • i'd call a dealer and ask the service dept about that piston ringit's coming along

  • check my first start rebuild engine of my scoot
