  • TRUE BAPTISM IS IN THE NAME OF FATHER SON HOLY SPIRIT WHERE SOUL BECOME ALIVE IN LORD JESUS CHRIST all different baptisms are wrong and heresy/blasphemy

  • baptism in the name of dead OO BLIND decived mormons hell await all who using rituals to connect self with familliar/demonic spirits who pretending to be dead souls GOD HOLY WORD IN HOLY BIBLE TEACH in moment of death soul end up in HEAVEN TO BE WITH LORD JESUS CHRIST & FATHER GOD or soul is eternaly damnned in place SHEOL/HELL that is prison no prayer or baptism for dead can help eternaly damned soul that will end up in LAKE OF FIRE BY JESUS CHRIST JUDGMENT REV21,8

  • nice TOMBS full of damned people who follow false masonic book of mormons

  • The US government made it possible to not mix church and state. So money would not come from taxes to the churches, and money would not go from churches to the government. The US constitution was inteded for this and other purposes. If the federal government gives to the church, and the church accepts, then the church is subject the government. Christian organizations that decided to do so are now subject to US federal laws. The YMCA (Young men's christian association) accepts fed money.

  • Can anyone come into a service in any temple? Politely of course.

Why do you speak in english of a few hundred years ago? Why not latin or hebrew or arimaic, or some other language? Did Joseph Smith speak this way and expected people to do so for generations afterword?...It sounds contrived and overbearing and ... distant.

  • @sherriffnoldie No you can go to a service in church but only members with temple recommends may enter the temple. Even members cannot enter unless they have a recommend.

  • @sherriffnoldie Its because he wasn't the most educated child in Palamyra thats why.

  • HOLY Jesus! Your Temple is HUGE and pretty! I'm Catholic and I have been inside some nice places but I think this is in the top! WOW!!!!

  • @ldsguy182 AMEN! the bible says those who believe in Jesus are set free and saved. so lets persue God instead of tearing one another down.

  • the bible and the book of mormon contradict oneanother! the book of mormon is false!

  • @dis00612 I love how your automatic answer for which one is wrong is the Book Of Mormon.

  • maravilhosoooooo

  • Very beautiful. Looks like a castle.

  • a good church of Christ is a good TAX PAYER.

  • that's why Mormons marvel they Have nice church, why? because theyre Not Paying Tax. it is against the Teachings of the Lord. All churches has to be subjected to the Government. when it comes to the Law. All churches must pay TAX! no excuse.

  • @AngelofLoveOne

you're ignorant, do your research and you will find most legitimate churches are, in fact tax exempt.

  • @bradybro1423 > You Dont want the whole Youtube to know the Truth that even Jesus and Simon pay TAX to the Government in their time. 3000 yrs. ago. that is the great ruling of the Churches that Truly listens and follow Christ. has to be Pure and Honest no stain.

  • @AngelofLoveOne

Yeah, because back then the government had tax deductions, dependent deductions you had to file for capital gains, right? You're NOT comparing apples to apples here.

ALL churches are non-profit organizations. All members pay taxes to the government, and the church obeys ALL laws of the land. This is the stupidest attempt at anti-mormon attacks that Ive ever heard.

  • @AngelofLoveOne I believe you are not reading scripture correctly.

Simon and Jesus paid the Temple tax, a tax to help fund the

building of the Jerusalem temple. Jesus also advocated citizens

paying taxes. He never said the church should pay a tax on the

tithes or offerings they received. Im not a Mormon, but I believe

what is taken up for God's work should be tax exempt.

  • @AngelofLoveOne

Yeah we should TAX charities too so no one goes un taxed. Your so smart, what a great idea! Lets start a campaign to have us donate more of our personal money to the Government too!

  • @bluePearlMike > its written in the Bible Jesus order one of His disciples to pick a silver coin in the mouth of the Fish in the shore. and Jesus said give ceazar unto ceazar, give God unto God. who is Ceazar on that time? is the ruler Governor , He,s face was in a coin. So even Jesus told His disciple the Chirch to pay TAX!

  • @bluePearlMike > it is written. Matthew 17:24-27 About Temple Tax and Preacher. and Jesus Himself pay Tax and Simon. He ordered His Simon to pick the silver coin in the mouth of the Fish! in the shore, and used it to pay the Tax Collector. that means even Jesus teaches that a Church should pay TAX too'' no Exempt! more Preachers became a Fat Ass Today and so much Businesses. Whenever a Church and Preachers collect Money from members, They are subject to TAX.

  • @AngelofLoveOne

Jesus taught to obey the laws of the land, that's the principle being taught.

  • @bluePearlMike > Jesus is Fair and Honest Teacher and Lord. He Taught about these to His Disciples to be Honest and Fair as Possible so they may not Offend the Government. and Pay Tax rightfully that's a ruling of the Almighty to All Churches and Preachers of Christ. All must be Obedient for the Good. Because the Government need all that Tax not only to Businesses and other Citizens but also Church & Preachers. Gov. Duty is to care for All people. How many Today Church & Preacher Pay Tax?

  • @AngelofLoveOne

The duty of the government is NOT to take care of all people, the founding fathers never never wanted the government to be as large as it is. It is up to all of Christ's children to care for one another. Mark 12:30,31

  • that's gorgeous'

  • LOL. Awww.... religion. You never cease to make me laugh. Ridiculous stuff.

  • @MrFreddy1686

complete and utter garbage! I love how they ask everyone but LDS authority. especially the light house ministry's that place is so bias it's not even funny.

  • Native New Yorker and site founder Neylan McBaine credits her background and experiences as the catalyst for the launching of the Mormon Women Project.

  • YAY I LOVE THE TEMPLE!

  • Geez every room looks like a clean hotel lobby.

LDS architecture is not inspiring from a spiritual aspect and is usually non contextual to it's surroundings, case in point a Gothic styled Temple in Spanish flavored La Jolla California

  • @77vwbusman I think it's probably hard to be inspired spiritually by a video of pictures? I know that when I've been inside the temple on the tours they've offered it's a much greater experience than looking at a video clip. Yes it's clean and "looks like a hotel lobby" but if you were to imagine a building that God created for us on earth (whether you believe in God or not) don't you think it would be clean and welcoming?

  • @cwhite7630

I can see a few gathered under a tree in a meadow in Jesus' name being more inspiring than this type of architecture. Different strokes for different folks. I am not Catholic, but I would be more inspired if I was in a building in something like Sagrada Familia. That is an inspiring building.

  • When I saw the mirrors in the Sealing Room, I instantly thought of how they're there so that they can represent the union of the couple for all eternity :D And the hymn is beautiful, good choice. So peaceful and reverent. The Father has blessed us so much, His Gospel is truly the most beautiful blessing to receive. I am close to turning seventeen, and have just received my Patriarchal Recommendation last week, and I cannot tell you how happy this makes me. May all the glory go to the Father <3

  • talk about humbal

  • This is my favourite hymn. I love to sing it. It gives me goose bumps when i do :)

  • Comment removed

  • dont see how this can qualify to be Christian ...sorry..yall goen get it for real

  • The name of the hymn is: "If You Could Hie To Kolob."

  • @bradybro1423

Is this video your own work? Because the photography is beautiful. I feel that the level of the quality in this video alone, shows reverence and respect to the House of the Lord.

  • To ye of little faith, watch this video with an open heart, and an open mind. Do you feel that warmth? Thats the spirit telling you, this is the true gospel. Do not deny it my fellow brethren. Embrace it =)

  • It is called, "If You Could Hie to Kolob"

  • Song is called If You Could Hie to Kolob.

  • Modren day Pharisees...and I thought catholics were bad...

  • @Ashthewookilar If you're not dead, why are you questioning me with what you believe to be true, which apparently is nothing, as you think we all know nothing for sure.

  • @TimeDivider

Fair enough....I've actually made up my own mind on the matter, without "indoctrination". Did your opinion form 100% on your own, or did you actually sit down and do some research and read and learn. If you did the latter, then you and I performed the same task and simply arrived at differing opinions. That's fine by me and I wish you health and happiness.

  • @djwright44 Well I reached my conclusions by talking to several mormons from many walks of life, it was actually something I was interested in learning about for quite some time out of sheer curiosity. But that doesn't mean we can't all live together. Mormons stop by my apt all the time, I always treat them with kindness and respect, even offer them a soda! I just don't agree with any form of supernatural belief, but it doesn't mean i condemn anyone for it.

  • @TimeDivider

That's cool Time...thanks for that, and again, all the best to you.

  • @TimeDivider

I find it interesting that the Christian world is so divided and has such diverse teachings, yet when it comes to Mormonism they all state jointly what a fraud Mormonism is. Why all the anger and fear directed toward Mormonism? We believe in a life after death, that Jesus visited the American continent and in living, modern prophets. I don't see anything all that shocking or messed up with that.

  • I can always count on finding an abundance of faithless individuals roaming pro-Mormon videos on YouTube. Their aim to weaken the faith of humble followers of Christ will only lead them to unhappiness and a lack of truth. They speak of using their God-given brain, yet fail to admit the mere existence of God and miss out on all the miracles that God shows to those who believe.

I wonder when they pass onto the next life and stand before Christ, if they will still say - "There is no Christ!"

  • @DefendingMormonism I wonder the same thing. I wonder what they will say about the Restoration, and about the Prophet. It will be amazing to see them attempt to lie to God.

  • @DefendingMormonism Count me in as one of the faithless, or maybe the most faithless, or the faithlessest.

  • @DefendingMormonism

To believe in the "Great Apostasy" is to make Jesus Christ a liar.

  • @Velokid93 Could you please provide an explanation for your statement and preferably supporting scripture?

  • @DefendingMormonism You have not read the journal of discourses right?. Inferiority of Blacks, Jesus inferior to JS, etc. . . .

  • @QuantumProphet And you have never heard the black hebrew issraellites condemnation of whites! So piss off.

  • @DefendingMormonism

I've never heard a mormon say "There is no Christ!" ever. They are more sharing to others about Him. Christianity must be true because Satan has caused all us Christians to quarrel when there are Billions who have never even learned, felt or heard the message of Christ.

  • I'll have to get back to you guys. I'm sure it'll get played at Mass again. It's usually for the professional (fellow Catholics, help me out here)...

  • I don't remember the title but the tune is very familiar. It's in our Catholic missal.

Even if you're against Mormonism, the song is a lovely arrangement.

  • @lajmh It's a hymn--I can play it on organ if I have the music---the tune was written by a current British composer--but I've forgotten his name and also the name of the tune. But it's one page 482 of the hymn book...(I have no problem remembering numbers). "How shall I sing that Majesty", by George Herbert, is the text commonly set to the tune. Mormons have nothing to do with it nor it's inspiration--but they may have put together the arrangement of tune that cannot be forgotten easily....

  • @Lalapunzi

Sorry I'm not sure ether, perhaps someone else will know.

  • @bradybro1423 oh no! please don't tell me that! ohhhhh, i was so looking forward to know the name of the song... :( i been trying to find it ever since you posted this video.... :( maybe someone can help me with that....

  • Baptism on behalf of the dead was used by Paul as evidence of a literal resurrection. This act of love and honor toward our ancestors only provides the baptism by proxy. The person for whom this is performed , has the choice to accept or reject it. Other christians may say prayers or light candles on behalf of their deceased loved ones, the Mormons are just a bit more hands on.

  • Anyone know the name of the artist that redid the song that is playing on this video?

  • @rharrisondebtfree yeah just look for it as "Lex de Azevedo, if you could hie to kolob" and you'll get more videos with this aragement :)

  • "In recognition and appreciation to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for its help and cooperation in donating medical equipment and making improvements to the hospital."

The plaque is dated October 2009. The genesis of the Church and its friendship with the clinic go back about a year earlier.

  • Church employee Enrique Cabezas shares an animated story with children gathered outside the Los Andes Clinic in El Alto, Bolivia.

  • Heavenly Father, please continue to guide me towards your will. You have blessed me and my family in abundance and I love you with all my being. I find peace and comfort in your words and the words of your people and know that my soul is nourished in your presence. Forgive me for my shortcomings and help me to overcome my temptations while on earth. I say and ask of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

  • The normally reticent Wilson hasn't consented to do a news story for 15 years, sometimes finding it hard to believe that "Lingo" still matters to so many people.

"You can tell by looking in their eyes," Wilson said. "They start heading toward you and they want to recite the entire script, verbatim. It's amazing."

  • Wilson is a classical pianist who works with advanced students intending to major or minor in music.

For the past 20 years, she has helped prepare students to face college juries that will determine whether the students will be accepted into music programs or receive prestigious scholarships.

  • Besides baptism by water there is also baptism by blood and the thiefs dying after accepting Jesus Christ could have provided that opportunity or another possibility could be proxy baptism.

  • Father in Heaven, thank you for such love and kindness, to provide for all your children. May your love sink deep into the cold hard hearts of the children of men. Giver of all light, knowledge and truth, may all glory be to thee. Keeper of promises and covenants, always ready to bless, may thy sons and daughters find their peace in thee. Joy beyond description for those that attend thee. Grateful am I, here am I, send me and I will speak thy truth as freely as thou hast given me. Let It be so.

  • @amrite

Oh, such language! Very Christ like.

No one is hopeless. That is another gross wresting of the gospel of Christ. Because of Him all may have hope and there is no sin that He has not covered except that of denying the witness of the Holy Ghost.

Blessed are the meek and humble for they shall inherit the earth.

Deny not the power of God.

Soon we will see Him as He is.

  • Q...why do then other religions have their babies Christened?

so they will get to heaven - that is their belief...Children are without sin until the age of accountability (8 years old), so have no need for baptism.

SO is ours that the dead must have their work be done for them..for we are not saved without our dead.......LDS

  • please, what is this song called/ who is it by? It's beautiful. Just like the images. Suits them so well. Thanks in advance.

  • "If you could hie to Kolob", to hear the words sung as they are in the hymn put it in the search of youtube.

  • @bradybro1423 what about the verry last song, i'been tring to find it but don't have a clue of it's name... plz help!

  • @bradybro1423 If you could hie to Kholob,

in the blinking of an eye....LOL. those demigod wannabees, haha

  • @mellibelly88 Catholic hymn for Lent called "Led by the Spirit" and there's an Advent version as well. =)

  • @mellibelly88 you can get this song on a cd called Variantions on a sacred theme by Lex de Azevedo I cant remember if its on 1 or 2 but both are excellent

  • What is the name of this tune?

  • This belief of baptism for the dead, to give them an opportunity they did not get in life, seems to be evidence of a truly loving and fair God.

I always wondered why something mentioned in the Bible wasn't performed by today's Christians.

What else is mentioned about Christ's church is not included in today's churches?

  • I couldn't agree more encoresurterre.

  • Doesn't say ANYWHERE in the Bible that the dead were baptized. I'll pray for your mind.

  • Corinthians 15:29

  • "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?" refers to Jesus. Jesus is the individual referred to as "the dead", because the Corinth church did not believe in Jesus' resurrection. Paul was chastising them for believing in baptizing people in the name of Jesus, yet not believing IN Jesus' bodily resurrection. Thus, he questions them for baptizing people for Jesus, who they believe is dead, not living.

  • 1 Cor. 15: 29

**Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?**

Speaking of one ordinance they performed at that time for the dead.

I pray that you receive the Holy Ghost while you read the Bible, who enlightens the mind, brings all things to rememberance and bears witness of the divinity of Christ...

    Matt. 16: 17

**flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.**

  • Unfortunately, your interpretation of Corinthians is wrong. That is because you assume the ordinance first, then you read the verse. By reading the verse first, no one would imagine that it was a "baptism of the dead." It is baptizing people who are ALIVE, for someone who had DIED, Jesus Christ. Paul here is obviously questioning Corinth's behaviour.

And I thank you for your prayers, but I believe my interpretation most correctly reflects God's will. One cannot be baptized a Christian once dead

  • Christian theologians have long wrestled with the question, what is the destiny of the countless billions who have lived and died with no knowledge of Jesus? What are your ideas on the subject?

  • why are they then baptized for the dead

  • Also, amrite, at that time Christ was no longer DEAD he was resurrected and ALIVE. So the only DEAD *they* could be baptized for were the DEAD, not Christ who IS from 3 days after His crucifixion and forever, as the Bible states clearly.

Again, it shows the LOVE the MERCY and the JUSTICE of God to provide equal opportunity for even those who never had it in life. I prefer to conform my life to His will than justify what I want for to do otherwise is death 1 and 2.

  • Christ WAS alive. But the people of Corinth BELIEVED that Jesus was dead. And they still practiced baptisms. Which was why Paul was questioning them.

  • Who was Paul writing to in his letters mate? and why? get the full picture before you go on your power trip mate..no offense. good luck

  • He was writing to the church of Corinth, who believed in baptism, yet not the resurrection of Christ.

  • Exactly, Christ was alive. *They* were not baptizing for Christ but for the dead. Paul was not condeming them for the practice of baptism for the dead but used it to reason with them that the Lord was resurrected and that the baptisms were still valid. He demonstrated that the dead do rise, hence he reasoned with them "Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all." Here he is indicating that all the dead shall rise (because of Christ of course).

  • They WERE baptizing for Christ. Otherwise Paul would have written that they were baptizing the dead, not FOR the dead.

  • Okay, this is getting rather scattered.

    Let's just talk facts.

The Corinthians were baptising people by proxy for the dead so the dead could receive the same blessings and requirements of salvation but believed Christ was dead and gone.

Paul wrote them to teach them about the resurrection and that Christ had resurrected. Their stance on resurrection was a contradiction to BFTD. This is what provoked Pauls statement in 15:29. He then goes on to describe the resurrection and the various levels.

  • How can the dead baptise themselves?

Maybe you should think about Malachi 4:5-6....talks about how Elijah will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and visa versa....look and see all the people doing Family History work.....why? those people need their ordinances carried out for them..open your eyes and forget your own opinion...then you will be enlightened...good luck...

  • Not an opinion. God's truth.

  • @amrite

I have a test for anything pertaining to God's gospel.

Does it cause me to obey the greatest or second greatest commandment?

So where BTFD is concerned, which causes me to love God more, the dead not baptised Christian are lost forever or they have the opportunity, if they so choose, to accept a proxy baptism performed for them?

I love God more for giving my Viking anscestors the possibility of becoming Christians as Malachi's promise is fulfilled. My heart is turned to my fathers.

  • The dead are judged and lost forever.

  • @amrite Yep, that kills the first commandment and the second as well.

God created all mankind and you say he is capricious and partial to those that were around to hear the gospel and be baptized by proper authority. That doesnt conform to the Good News at all.

What about the Jews that died before Christ that would have surely joined him? I believe Gods wisdom is greater than that.

I imagine you believe Adam to be lost as well. There is a much bigger picture here than you're seeing.

  • Adam wasn't lost. Baptism is not required for salvation. Belief is. However, baptism of the dead is a pointless, sinful, and wrong thing to do.

  • @amrite Ah, no wonder, you don't believe Baptism is required.

Can that which is filthy enter into the Kingdom of God?

  • If you're not baptized, it doesn't make you filthy. Baptism is a symbol of your belief, not the source of it.

  • @amrite

Where do these beliefs come from?

Baptism per the Bible is a requirement!

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

Acts 22:16 be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

1 Cor. 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body

Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Mark - BELIEF. Doesn't say if ur not baptized, you are damned.

Acts - obviously not LITERAL, you can't WASH sins literally. ALL symbolic. spiritual baptism.

1 Cor. - Again symbolic, not everyone is joined together into one being through baptism.

Acts - This verse does not speak about the need for salvation, which is by faith only. It only discusses repentance and baptism. meaning that people should repent and then get baptized, as a SYMBOL of repentance.

  • @amrite

Mark - AND is baptized. Very litteral.

Acts - Baptism is an "action" symbolizing the acceptance of Christ's name. - I didn't say it they did.

1 Cor - The "body" being the body of the church, therefore a requirement for membership in His church.

Acts again - be baptized for the remission of sins.

Acts 10:47-48 he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. - a commandment!

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.

Those are the words of the Bible.

  • Know what else are the words of the Bible? Jesus talking to the prisoner crucified next to him: "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." TODAY. IN PARADISE. That guy wasn't baptized, by the way.

  • @amrite Oh, yes, PARADISE.

Did Christ say he would be "SAVED" in paradise? No. That is a common missconception of paradise.

Paradise is the nice place one goes to while awaiting the resurrection and judgement as opposed to hell. It is after the resurrection that one goes to their final destination. Those that do not choose to follow Christ will then be cast into outer darkness with Satan and his.

1Pet3:18-22 he went and preached unto the spirits in prison - read 18-22.

  • I seriously doubt it. Paradise, where Jesus said HE would be as well, a waiting room?

  • @amrite A room is too finite and limited in scope.

And yes, that is where Jesus went for 3 days before He as the first fruit of the first resurrection was indeed resurrected.

See John 5:25 dead shall hear . . . the Son.

    also

1 Pet 3:19 preached unto the spirits in prison.

    and

1 Pet 4:6 gospel preached also to them that are dead.

    and the clincher:

John 20:17 I am not yet ascended to my Father - Paradise is not heaven where the Father is and Christ didn't go there until the 3rd day.

  • @amrite also, how do you "know" the thief was never baptized?

  • Because the Bible doesn't state that fact, which would have been very important.

  • @amrite Why would it be important. Much was taught and knowledge assumed. Christ spoke of other scriptures which are not had in the Bible yet referred to the knowledge contained in them. Would it not be important to have them as well if He referred to them?

  • @amrite It is known that early Christians did baptize for the dead, but I've heard it said that they were actually trying to baptize corpses! Whatever your belief, you don't know what was meant in the original Koine Greek anymore than a Mormon, and the Mormons base their practice on modern revelation, not that scripture.

  • I'm diggin' dis footage of our Lord's Temples!!! :)

  • I'm glad for this peaceful video and music . . . in contrast to all these posts.

READ NO FURTHER GENTLE INTERNET SURFER! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

    :)

  • pretty.

  • Yes, but pretty will not get you into Heaven.Neither will the things this video showed you.For instance, the baptismal portion, it is not up to us to get our ancestors into heaven by being baptised for them. They had their chance while here on earth to do their own accepting of Christ, if they did not, then they lost out. your personal relationship w/Christ is yours not based on others doing it for you, & not by being baptised. Baptism is an admitssion b/4 the church of your acceptance of christ

  • I totally agree. Your salvation is YOUR responsibility. Jesus wants a personal relationship with US, not through a third party.

  • what sing is this anyone know?

  • if you could hie to colob

  • does the teachings of a poor carpenter make you feel like to have to be the opposite of that and pull all the money to build something totally opposite of what Christ taught?

  • Does the teachings of our lord and Savior Jesus Christ justify pulling all our money together to build HIS house on this earth?

  • umm I think that if your savior came back and witnessed the amassed wealth that is this building, and all these multi-million dollar castles in honor of him he would be appalled not humbled by the site of this. In my thoughts Christ did not teach this, didnt he get pissed when at the temple they were robbing from the church goers? Leave it to Man Made organized religion to brainwash and dilute the words of your prophets. It bs that these are not taxed, how do churches get special rights for this?

  • The temple is literally Gods house. The ordinances preformed in them are sacred and holy. The money changers you are talking about were doing so in the temple. If you are referring to tithing as "brainwash and dilute" you need to read the scriptures, that's where the practice comes from.

  • you people make me sick with your 15 wifes and marrying 12 year old girls off to 50 year olds. and this pathetic white 'temples' look really stupid, and let me tell you something, your founder never found no gold tablets lol. Jesus never came to the americas. your all just elitists playing games with ur lower classes, fools. THERE IS NO HONOR OR MIGHT BEHIND YOUR JOKE OF A CHURCH!

  • ummm... we don't have 15 wives or marry 12 year olds... you have the wrong idea bud...

  • Yes but also says to give with a giving nad willing heart and it is to support the church expenses not the churches extravagances such as seen in this video...

  • The Constitution prohibits the taxation of religious buildings. Our country was founded and based on the belief of freedom of religion, so it makes sense. and Christ was angry because they were doing that on Holy ground.

  • im not LDS whatsoever, but i must say being inside these things make you feel good inside. haha

  • i love jesus christ so much!

  • I love the scriptures they truly testify of Christ dont' they. The bible is the word of God and brings us closer to returning to live with him if we will follow the teachings contained.

  • It's an LDS hymn called "if i could't hie to Kolob"

  • I love the backgroung music. What is it?

  • "it was translated by imperfect means"

..so the bom was translated by "perfect means" then?

  • Did God translate the bible?

  • Exactly.

God didnt translate the golden plates, it was Joseph.

So why do you trust the bom more than the bible?

  • The Articles of Faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

    8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.

  • "as far as it is translated correctly"

..what does that mean?, How could you tell what part of the bible has been translated correctly????? (IF it were).

You will find the bible to be a VERY accurate book, which has been backed up by different authors and history. You will be amazed by how accurate it is actually..you need more faith in the bible.

Anyway, I want you to answer the question at the top...

  • "As far as it is translated correctly" means that there are literally thousands of translations of the bible to choose from, and which one is right and how do you know it and how do you know that the passages that you are reading in your chosen translation are accurate?

We make that caveat because even with Joseph's project we have only 1 official translation: KJV.

The Book of Mormon has no such caveat because it has only one translation--with refinements by Smith, after publication.

  • You know, everytime there is a new translation, it is copied from the original manuscripts. Not a copy of a copy. Oh and don't play dumb, the translation means EXACTLY what the origial manuscript means. Only difference is the words are slighty different.

Keep tearing down God's word and believing JS's lies......please....continue

  • However, God doesn't allow all to discern the truths found in His Bible. It's only by His grace and the working of the Holy Spirit in one's life that allows that to happen. One must truly realize the depravity of their nature. One must realize that sin has crumbled their soul. One must realize who they are before a holy and perfect God. One must realize their need for a Savior. One must realize that without spiritual help, they're hopeless and alone.

  • Wilyam32. When I noticed bradybro1423 and yourself arguing I was curious to see what started it so I went to the first post and read that you said Joseph Smith predicted the end of the world in 1956. I researched it but could not find anything. (my only source being the internet). What is your source? Thanks in advanced!

  • Well, this degenerated from a nice view of a beautiful building into an argument between two people who have lost sight of one critical truth: God loves you both, and you better make friends because in this ever-darkening world of lowering standards the Mormons and the Catholics will eventually be the last standard bearers of True Religion and moral certainty. There are enough people trying to dig pits for both groups without you helping.

  • Well said, Thanks

  • Very Well said

  • What's the name of this piece?

  • I WANNA BE A MORMON how can i be?

  • Find a missionary or visit a local LDS church.

  • Sorry Brady, but wrong again. The power to loose and bind without fail was given to Peter - the Rock of Christ's Church. Christ left Peter in charge to teach infallibly all things with regard to faith and morals, which would eventually also include interpretation of the Bible after Catholics through divine inspiration compiled it. There have been no more apostolic revelations, only clearer interpretations over time as needed to teach heretics once a firmly held belief was opposed.

  • So since Peter was killed for his faith and took that authority with him. We have the apostasy. When exactly was that restored to Catholics. Peter was the last catholic to have any authority to lead.

  • Wrong. Christ didn't intend for his Church to end with Peter. The power passed down unbroken from Pope to Pope, just as it would in any hierarchical structure, as it did From Abraham of the OT down to Jesus of the New, and also as it does in secular society even with companies. There was no apostasy, nor will there ever be one. Christ's Church is too powerful for that. And what would have happened to those poor souls in between? Rediculous.

  • the Great Apostasy, which occurred after Christ established His Church. After the deaths of the Savior and His Apostles, men corrupted the principles of the gospel and made unauthorized changes in Church organization and priesthood ordinances. Because of this widespread apostasy, the Lord withdrew the authority of the priesthood from the earth.

  • Really, right after He said all the things below? Now that's a leap of faith!

  • There's records of many, many heresies in the early Church, but not a mention anywhere in any historical document of Mormonism - anywhere - at all - zip, nada, nowhere. Don't you think someone, somewhere might have debated their doctrines? Things that make you go hmmmmm???

  • Are you kidding me? Yes, the early catholic church had people fighting it, mostly because they where invading everywhere. The blood on the hands of the catholic church is abundant.

The Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints was chased from state to state. No where could our people find freedom from persecution. Infect, If you know anything at all you know Joseph Smith was assassinated a martyr.

  • Does your church teach that Joseph Smith killed some people on his way out? Does Mormonism teach and proclaim one of the last statements made by Joseph Smith? I'd be happy to inform you friend.

  • Where does it say that? 1st question

  • I'd be happy to lead you where you could read up on some of the statements that Joseph Smith uttered shortly before his death. However, I'm more concerned about who you consider Jesus to be. Who is Jesus according to your understanding?

  • Ephesians 3:20-21 "Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.

  • And by the way, Christ was God. John 17:5: and now, Father, glorify thou me in thy own presence with the glory which I had with thee before the world was made.

Jesus Christ wasn't a man who was elevated to the status of God, but He always was God. He wasn't a created being. All created things were made in the creation event described in Genesis, but Christ had God's glory before all created things were made!

  • LOL, he sure talks to himself a lot. Just like what you just quoted "Father, glorify thou me in thy own Presence with thee (so they where together in presence not body) before the world was made. They are one in purpose! Not some blob... Another miss translation made by your no authority popes.

  • You're not Catholic yet! Ignorance is bliss, but willful ignorance is dangerous. I'll be praying for you brother - to Jesus Christ who is God Almighty and who's Holy Catholic Church contains the one and only Truth - not over 33,000 different truths all of you (although you guys aren't even Christian) and the Protestants have come up with with your own interpretations of Scripture - and you all think you have the one truth. Your Bible manuscripts were written by Catholics. Hmmmm...

  • Did you give up all reasonable a
