  • Mediocre.Que musica mas pesada.

  • okay that is fuck this genereation bring back 1970 when people where nicer... kids could ride there bikes in the early summer evening and privacy was just a little more respected... fuck 2010 its 1970

  • @4162661670 ahahha right on!

  • @4162661670 that's why I'm the only one in our big family to not have children for the rest of his lifetime. it's sad but the shit music (no dynamics, everything electronically "mastered" to death), the shit world together with their shit 24-hour surveillance of each and everyone - as you say, privacy - would make me feel like an ignorant asshole if I put children into THIS world. For we were so infinitely lucky with our "poor" technology...

  • @4162661670 Agreed, I was a kid in the 1970's had a good time, with good music such as the grass roots, hate this rap crap generation or this pop bull shit, music todays it about the money and the spot light, back in days it was about the talent, with real instruments..wonder why im still stuck in the past. 50's through the 80's is the best era...

  • Thats it i have had it.... fuck this generation of music.. bring back the early seventies when people where nicer... kids could ride there bikes in the early evenings and there was no internet perverts.... fuck 2010 its 1970 again...

  • Oh, man! This sweet number reminds me of all my puppy love childhood crushes! Was 7 years old when it came out. What an era!

  • @tazlynn1965 Some kids do.

  • This is my favorite Grass Roots song! It's got a great beat & and it's a blast to listen to. I was just 7 when this was popular. How many here remember these guys on American Bandstand? I loved their music. Too bad today's kids don't have groups like this anymore.

  • this is just one of the great tunes from the Grass Roots...I saw them live 3 times and always a great show. I was at a sea park in Dallas (1972/73) and had lunch with them in a obscure part of the park. Wow was that a thrill...I've also since met Rob twice...such a great guy and fan friendly after the show!!

  • This was probably my FAVORITE Grass Roots song!!! And they were one of the first groups I really liked and I think their LP was the record I ever bought back in 1969 or '70.

  • This song is the king of songs. Every time I hear it , I either go wild, or I shit a brick. I can't believe how catchy it is!

  • SOONER OR LATER..I HAVE TO WIN AT WINNING OVER THE LOVE OF MY LIFE, RENEE....IT MIGHT TAKE A LONG TIME, A TON OF WORK, PERSEVERANCE, TENACITY AND ALL THAT CRAP...BUT I HAVE REALLY NO OTHER CHOICE AT THIS STAGE...CANT LOOK BACK ANYMORE AND MUST MOVE ON IN LIFE ANEROBICALLY....LOVE YA HONEY.....p......BE MINE......

  • A very nice song about a man waiting for the love of his life to marry him.

The lines, "sooner or later, love is gonna get ya,"' and "sooner or later, love is gonna win" along with many other lines in the song apply outside the boundaries of romantic love and to everything we do in life.

  • YOURE DEFINATELY RIGHT ABOUT THE THESIS OF APPLYING TO ALL IN LIFE..NO DOUBT ABOUT IT..THANX...BUT LOVE IS THE ONE THRESHOLD THAT IS SOMETIMES THAT EVADES MOST OF US....pete...BUT I STILL WANT HER, AT ALL COST..WHAT DO I DO?

  • timeless!

  • I SURE HOPE THAT THIS THESIS WORKS...RENEE, I WANT TO MAKE YOU MINE FOR LIFE, AT ALL COST...I'D DO ANYTHING IN THE WORLD TO MAKE YOU MINE FOREVER..ITS AN UPHILL STRUGGLE RIGHT NOW, BUT THAT HAS TO CHANGE...TELL ME WHAT TO DO AND I'LL DO IT...I JUST WANT TO SPEND ETERNITY WITH YOU, AGAIN, AT ANY AND ALL COST...I LOVE YOU HONEY...pete.x0

  • God Bless Renee it's all A OK What the hell do I know But this sounds good I'm 52 and I have been on the wrong side of things. My fault I think this sounds good

  • thanx...i could use the luck in winning her over..its an uphill struggle like anything else in life we really want..thanx a ton...pete....

  • to rexrockandroll---i sure hope it works and renee contacts you!! i am thinking about it right now---lets hope it works!

  • That's nice, Rex, but I had to spam on you, if she want's you, she'll let you know. Luck? I don't believe in that. Be a realist.

  • ACTUALLY I REALLY DONT BELIEVE IN LUCK EITHER..BUT THERE ALWAYS TO BE HOPE IN AN UPHILL SITUATION...THANX FOR THE COMMENT AND I AM A REALIST...I HAVE A PHILOSOPHY IN LIFE....HOPE FOR THE BEST, PREPARE FOR THE WORST...AGAIN, THANX A TON...WISH ME LUCK, TONS OF IT..THATS WHAT IT MIGHT TAKE OR A STRIKE OF LIGHTNING..THAT WOULD BE FINE WITH ME TOO....AGAIN, THANX..HAVE A GREAT DAY...pete.....

  • Well-you keep on persisting and something's bound to turn up.

  • This is truly the kind of lyrics we need to hear as people. Its that message of hope that's absent from all modern music. Maybe that's whats wrong with the world. This music just makes me feel great.

  • 1) the chances of finding love are big and 2) not finding someone is sometimes the best thing.

  • kidstryke

    good words.. thnx

  • woah...

  • everytime I hear this I have to refrain from Dancing lol

  • Love Grass Roots more people should listen to them!! The Younger people now adays dont know what good music is! Grass Roots are a good example of what kinda of music they should be listening too!!!

  • true--I am a fifteen year old kid who refuses to listen to any pop, rap or electronic. I am strictly a fan of rock, heavy metal, and classics like this

  • creed bratton bottom right hahah hes awesome

  • i love the grass roots hell yeah

  • this song is a lie... love will never happen for me :-(

  • don't say that!

  • thnx :)

  • I had such a crush on Rob Grill when I was a teenager. This brings back some great memories.

  • Creed!!!!

  • Great song!!!!!

  • maybe the smart comments arent so smart - too young

  • Arguably one of the first blue-eyed soul hits to imitate the Philadelphia Sound (as opposed to white acts like the Soul Survivors that actually worked with Gamble and Huff, etc.).

  • This has been one of my favorite songs by the Grass Roots for almost forty years now.

  • I still have the original 45 record after all these years.

  • I did know sang this song before. This is the first song I heard from them probably. I next heard some songs on their best hits album "Golden Grass"which I one of my freiends told me it was.

  • sounds like Jackson Brownes running on empty?!

  • Another favorite!!!!!!!!

  • rob grill and the grass roots at their best wonderful lush harmonies, blue-eyed soul nice and tight, thanks guys great memories of the 60s and early 70s..

  • This song is almost too catchy. I don't want to hear it while I'm driving because I'm afraid I'll start singing along instead of paying attention to the road :)

  • glad to hear they are still around. They (the band) bought my family's house in Portland Or. around 1973. We left a dinghy behind the garage and I went with my dad to pick it up a few weeks l8r - they had trashed the place and hot chicks were naked in the pool WHOO HOO!!

  • This is a great bumber song

  • LMFAO YEAH

  • I saw them in March! AMAZING! Welcome back Rob!! You are a fantastic performer!!

  • This band still performs. Same lead singer. They still sound great! Saw them at an Oldies Show in Detroit a couple of years ago. If you get a chance to see them...do it.

  • I saw them some years ago and they still sound great. They are worth seeing still. A great show.

  • Who cares! The words came right back! Wow blast from the past! Brings back summer days riding bikes and going to the beach! Thanks Angel!

  • The good old 70 's !!!!!

  • 1971.. but I believe this song was made in the mid 60's..

  • No kidding! Is this the bomb or what? Where are you from? Your last name is very famailar to me.

  • The initial chord progression reminds me a ot of "Build Me Up Buttercup" by the Foundations

  • Anytime this song comes on I can sing right along with it!! I've heard it so many times the lyrics just flow out of my mouth!! High School! & I still love it!!! (wink!)

  • Now this is music, not the crap we have today.

  • I was babysitting n this was all they had for music. N the baby went to sleep!

  • Right on!!! (wink!)

  • Kids they just don't make them like this anymore..... lyrics, lyrics, lyrics...Now go tell your garage band buddies to see these and other videos when music had true meaning, rythmn, melody, and beat with words that made sense......a thing called LOVE. Can it be replicated today? The torch must be passed on and someone must not let the flame die out.

  • i think kids, and society in general, is far too cynical and angry to ever fully replicate the pop genius of the early days.

but there are still a few young ones putting out clever stuff, and even some rather sweet songs. might wanna check out: the thrills, glasvegas, oasis, good the bad and the queen. BRMC's 3rd album.

casting the net further into other genres, i don't think there is anything more meaningful today than the songs of somalia's K'naan. and he's got some good tunes.

  • and you might like to check out pete doherty's 'deft left hand' on youtube, to see 'sooner or later' s melody being re-used (stolen) in 2009. ...which brought me back to this video in the first place.

  • Creed Bratton on THE OFFICE!

  • im 14 too and i enjoy almost any music, but i have to admit, this is one brilliant song!

  • Back to 10th grade? D: im in 10th grade.

  • This song takes me back to 10th grade..

  • always liked that song, reminds me of high school

  • Jezz I'm 14 and this is mainly what I hear.

    Its boss dude.

    <3

  • great song

  • What the hell are you talking about?! Leave Jesus out of this. Last I heard, he's all powerful so I highly doubt he needs some fake "spiritual warrior" doing his bidding.

  • love it

  • What you said in you're description about the video is so true. It is about the song and not the special effects of the video. Thanks for posting!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!

Haha I'm 15 and I love all the old songs :P

  • mini im 17 and i listen to all thesae 0old songs too they are soo great. kids in school dont aprreciate it

Well it'll never happen for me :(

maybe they should change the lyrics.

  • I SURE HOPE SO.....

  • It's sometimes nice just to sit back & reminisce the good times while listing to these songs.

  • "No one steals from Creed Bratton and gets away with it. The last person to do this ended up missing. His name? Creed Bratton"

  • Who would have ever thought that Creed was with this band.

  • They were all so adorable! x3

  • OMG, the memories that go with this song. It was one of my absolute favorites. I use to dance to it in my room all the time, lol. It has such a good beat. Wish the music today sounded like this still. Thank you for posting it!

  • I never paid this song much mind, until I got with my lady.

Now to me, this is one of the best love songs ever!

  • According to the Wikipedia, this song came out in June of 1971. But you were close!

  • Could someone tell me the year this was first released?

The earliest I could find on Google music was 1985, but I'm almost positive it dates back further.

  • I remember that this song (Sooner Or Later) was one of 2 or 3 Grass Roots tunes that was featured regularly on the Wonderama childrens' television show of the 1960s. The song would be played during the "Wonderama Go-Go" segment. Kids would get up and dance all the crazy dances of the 60s like 'the froog', the twist, and 'the funky chicken', etc. They'd pick the top 3 dancers as finalists and they would all have to dance to the same song for the win. Often the song would be "Sooner or Later".

  • Creed! :D

  • No matter where your lived, if you are old enough to remember when this song was released, you probably remember hearing a version of this song with a female chorus singing the call letters of your favorite radio station over the trumpet intro. It was a common practice at big stations to cut custom versions like this but this song was such a natural for it that almost every station in the country bought a custom version of this one.

  • In fact (if memory serves) my station (in Allentown, PA, 790 AM) sang: "W--A--E--B... Sooner-or-Later!"

  • in Chicago... 89 W L S one of the Legendary Rock Radio Stations in America.

  • This reminds me of my BEST friend when we were 13yo. We were "so in love" all the time with some boy!!

  • What a great song! Rob has an awesome voice. I love all of The Grass Roots songs. They are all my favorites! This group is what musio should be like! Peace, Love, and The Grass Roots

  • Awesome song !!

  • What a great song! Love it!

  • These guys are playing at an outdoor event near us in a few days. Had to check them out again - now I'm going for sure :)

Thanks for posting this great oldie.

  • this song is amazing. why cant music be like this anymore. The 60s and 70s got such great music and were stuck with crap like rap.lol. it's so unfair.

  • This is an awesome song1 Rob sure can sing. Please get well Rob, so you can be back on tour with your band!

  • my priest is on vacation and one of those dudes in the grass roots became a priest and is the fill in now and hes such a cool priest

  • which one became a priest?

  • love this song! thanks

  • Thank you so much for posting !
