game developper just barely started to program games for being ready for dual processor. next would be to modify the drivers code.

yeah sure ati got their job to do. because the only thing thats good at ati is the lower price and the kick ass performance.. but their drivers in't worth shit.

you might end up paying more for nvidia but its worth it. cause their drivers are rock solid.

if ati dosn't change their policies they will drop from the market.

well im saying that a ps3 will play awesome games for some time to come where computers are obsolete so quick and sooner or later they cant support the games any longer, trust me ive been through so many computers, granted i dont have the money to build a top of the line PC but even then a top of the line computer today probably would play games slowly or not at all in the next 8 years or sooner. with a ps3 you dont have to upgrade. you might need a newer vid card in the next couple years for PC

its not a true 8 core processor like the cell processor thats readily available in the ps3. the i7 is not an "8core cpu" like you said. its a FOUR core cpu that handles two threads per core! its got you fooled thats for sure! LOL!!!

the cell is 9 physicle cores. 8 spe's and 1 ppe. 2 are locked. the first is locked to improve manurfacturing yields. and the other is reserved for the o.s so your left with 6 spe's and 1 ppe. so a 7 core cpu at 3.2 ghz. the cell beat out the i7 is almost every test. and has yet to be matched, the cell is horrbiel for desk top use. but the cell has said to have been around 40x more powerful then the core i7.

umm no most games are capped at around 30 FPS and consoles have huge ass frame drops. when i played consoles almost every time on GTA 4 i would see FPS below 20. if u think consoles dont have frame drops then u arent playing highly demanding games on it. A console is a computer that dosnt have the internet (playing online isnt the internet.) which means with a CPU and GPU they act like PC's. So they do get frame drops.

GTA 4 is in general very shitty programed wise. Very very CPU dependent. If you dont have a cpu at 4.0ghz you are gona have some serious fps issues. It does not even utilise multiple cores like wtf..I mean why make a game which is TOTALY cpu dependent and not make it multi core viable..Very good game, very badly programed.

You can play gta IV maxed with ddr2 with no problem, memory speed is not the most important fact when playing a game. I play gta IV maxed 1920x1200 view distance 100 shadows 16... all maxed 45 fps benchmark 4870x2 ddr2 1066

Go for the Core i7 !!! look at my other videos and you will how fast it is and not only in games!! Encoding is so fast.. for ex. in mpg1 format the hardrive slows the engoding down!! I encoded today a divx movie with a lower resolution 1hour30min to 1920x1080 MP4 in 1hour45min!!!! that is crazy !!! You have to go for the core i7 and also you get ddr3 and 8 logical cores. You can get a core i7 920 and oc to 3.2 and you get a 965 :)
