I was sixteen when I completed SMB2... I loved this game and I remember the excitement when I discovered the warp zones too : )
I remember also the time I spent trying to reach with Princess a floating pyramid at the end of a sand world, but I never made it: I still don't know if it was possible (something like jumping the pole in SMB1). Great times anyway.
I like these games way better than todays game since in todays world the makers of most video games focus too much on the graphics instead of gameplay, back then it was simple, graphics were great in a way, better gameplay, and the errors/glitches made it even cooler to me.
I'm 16 but I still find these games way better than todays. I beat the nes version of this like 100 times and one time I beat it 10 times in one day.

i noticed that to. (obviously everyone knows) but whats weird is that the plot of super mario bros. 2 is that mario is having a nightmare and wart needs to be killed in order to wake up. shy guys, snifits, ninjis, and birdoes are only creatures of the dream world so theres no way for them to get to the mushroom kingdom and they never worked for bowser. i guess nintendo obviously fucked it up because ninjis can be found threwout super mario world and shy guys threw out yoshies world.

So the Nintendo company took the game called "Doki Doki Panic", made a few changes and turned it into Super Mario 2 and released it to the USA and other countries. The original Super Mario Bros 2 can be found on Super Mario Allstars as "Super Mario Bros the lost levels"

I miss this game so much. Brings back good memories of me and my old best friend. I never could beat the game though. This ending conflicts with other games because numerous enemies from this game return in future Super Mario installments (such as the Bob-ombs, Shy Guys, etc.) Does that mean all Mario games are a reoccuring dream? Hmmm... No, probably not.
@xRequiem666 maybe it doesn't conflict with the other games, at least not with smb3. in smb2 (this video) it's all a dream. smb3 is just a stage-play (a lot of the stuff are props, the end of the level you leave the stage like a play), so maybe mario had the dream in smb2 and decided to make a play in smb3 using some of the enemies from part 2.

@retardedmario1 Actually Wart was trying to fix the veggie machine but the machine went haywire, so instead of destroying it Wart blowed bubbles to rid every one of those veggies from poppin out at him. In DDP, this is what he was trying to do. In DDP, the heroes found out that Wart was allergic to veggies, in exchange for helping him getting rid of those veggies, he'll release the kidnap children. To that the group help him rid of those veggies by stuffing him with them until he collapse.

That is because this game was originally NOT a Mario game. Later on Nintendo decided to make a version of this game with the Mario characters in a leading role. That is why Bowser and the other familliar enemies are not in the game.

This game is so weird, its called Mario but everybody used Luigi or the Princess but I really enjoyed playing it to the end, it has too many puzzles, felt like a hard job completed. Great graphics and characters.

Yeah...graphics is the reason why people think PS3 and 360 are better.....really technology isn't everything.....You can buy old Nintendo games online on your Wii (so I've heard) and play it as emulation. Such as N64 games, and SNES games. This is just what I've heard.

I still wish I had a wii. As I said a few years back....there are more things on the wii you can do that you can't do on the 360 or PS3. But eh evewn 360 has more settings than the PS3 and both Wii and 360 are better organized and easy to use.

I was never able to beat this game on the NES, but I managed to for the SNES version. I like both versions of the game. To be honest, the main thing I did like about the SNES version was that you could save your progress. Other than that, no real preference.

Not my favorite Mario, but I still enjoyed playing the game. (Yes, I know it's Doki Doki Panic with Mario characters.) I haven't played it for a long while, but I remember the early stages were my favorite. Later on, the stages got more and more obnoxious. I never beat it, but it was a fun game.
Great game, i won't say it was the best, but I enjoyed playing this game through, always used the princess since she could float. This is one of the few sequals that really felt new and original, I loved the music for the ending. . .
Actually, almost all the enemies were unchanged, no wonder there's no Koopa Troopas, Goombas, Piranha plants, etc in the game. If Doki Doki Panic wasn't turned into Super Mario Bros. 2, Birdo, Bob-ombs, Shy Guys and Pokeys (cactus enemies) wouldn't be present in the Mario series, because they all first appeared in Doki Doki Panic.

Makes him seem elderly ; ) Obviously he lives alone (or with Luigi) because it don't look like Peach, or even Pauline, sleep in that bed. : I

This game is so weird, its called Mario but everybody used Luigi or the Princess but I really enjoyed playing it to the end, it has too many puzzles, felt like a hard job completed. Great graphics and characters.

I enjoy these old games so much better than today's games. I think a lot of times these days, too many people focus too much on graphics rather than good gameplay.... which is kinda sad!

Yeah...graphics is the reason why people think PS3 and 360 are better.....really technology isn't everything.....You can buy old Nintendo games online on your Wii (so I've heard) and play it as emulation. Such as N64 games, and SNES games. This is just what I've heard.

@Mage13246 it IS true. i have bought Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64, Super Metroid, Kirby's Adventure, Super Mario Bros. 2: The Lost Levels and Super Mario Bos. 3 on my Wii! :D you just need a credit card and internet. and a Wii ofcourse

I still wish I had a wii. As I said a few years back....there are more things on the wii you can do that you can't do on the 360 or PS3. But eh evewn 360 has more settings than the PS3 and both Wii and 360 are better organized and easy to use.

yeah but some games look better and are more enjoyable. Personally, I like Super mario galaxy better than this game, but Mario bros 3 better that Galaxy. Also, I like contra IV better than 1, 2, and 3

No. Just because the games are looking better, doesn't mean they're getting worse. I'd much rather play Super Mario Galaxy then say Super Mario Bros 2. It isn't because of graphics, just more to do, and more fun (IMO)

I was never able to beat this game on the NES, but I managed to for the SNES version. I like both versions of the game. To be honest, the main thing I did like about the SNES version was that you could save your progress. Other than that, no real preference.

Not my favorite Mario, but I still enjoyed playing the game. (Yes, I know it's Doki Doki Panic with Mario characters.) I haven't played it for a long while, but I remember the early stages were my favorite. Later on, the stages got more and more obnoxious. I never beat it, but it was a fun game.

Great game, i won't say it was the best, but I enjoyed playing this game through, always used the princess since she could float. This is one of the few sequals that really felt new and original, I loved the music for the ending. . .

Super Mario Bros 2 isn't even a mario game...it's just "Dream Factory: Doki Doki Panic" with Mario characters/enemies.

Actually, almost all the enemies were unchanged, no wonder there's no Koopa Troopas, Goombas, Piranha plants, etc in the game. If Doki Doki Panic wasn't turned into Super Mario Bros. 2, Birdo, Bob-ombs, Shy Guys and Pokeys (cactus enemies) wouldn't be present in the Mario series, because they all first appeared in Doki Doki Panic.
