  • Cool gun but the way you Carey it not good. Get a holster

  • @bs45satx crossbreed iwb holster it rocks.

  • getn my Kimber Custom covert in a few weeks. I believe its a 31oz weight. Aluminum frame, How do you fell about the frame yourself? was it "snappy" at all or was just as solid feeling as a steel frame?

  • Hey Man I just bought the same kimber cover 2, your video was really helpful, thanks.

  • thanks your video was helpful these 1911's seem to get sluglish after several rounds. and they are accurate i love mine . i have the ultra covert .my glock seems to run alot cleaner but i believe thats due to the material its make of.but these kimbers are fine percision machines.

  • Damn thats a nice gun! The field strip is a little fussy looking compared to glocks, or even my ruger p series

  • @jaekn yeah the field strip isnt as fast as the glocks but is still very easy. some parts of the vid look a bit akward but im looking through the viewfinder in my camera to make sure im staying in frame.

  • You should make a range video for your kimber custom covert II. that would be awesome

  • Don't let the slide slam shut on an empty 1911, (or any other pistol), ride it forward with your hand. Make sure you clean the firing pin, extractor, & both channels too. This is one of My favorite carry pistols, the light-weight aluminum frame makes it a breeze to carry all day.

  • love the grip on your gun

  • @shottaz83 yeah the gun is kimber custom covert 2 they run about 1600 and comes stock with a crimson trace laser grip

  • Great vid right to the point

  • Beautiful, Beautiful firearm! i love 1911's. but they seem to hate me (south paw). do you know if i could get the custom covert ii (or any kimber for the matter) with an ambi mag release, and maybe the crimson trace on the other side?

  • the mag release atleast on the custom covert can be changed to either side by a simple screw. coverts dont come with ambi safetys but some of the others do. as far as the crimson trace being on the other side that will be impossible as fas as i know because of the slide release and safety being there. they do make a guide rod laser for 1911's that could be an option for you.

  • beautiful gun, watch out for those idiot scratches.

Put the spring on the guide rod when you reassemble, and it'll go in easier. right on the spring, open end up. cap is the recoil spring plug,

round thing is the barrel bushing, take it off at the 3 oclock position, put it on with the plug at the 9 oclock. The thing sticking up in the frame is the diconnector, the barrel link lines up with the slidestop. Do you shoot hollow points with the 1911? any failure to feed issues?

    good video, be safe

  • thank you for all the advice. yes i have shot alot of hollow points through it and have yet to have a failure to feed.

  • perfect vid! very good.

  • Life saver for a new kimber owner, manual was no help. Thanks a million!

  • It's been a while since I owned a 1911 and without a manual for my new TLE II, this is a great short tutorial for me.

  • Hey man great reference video, really helped me the first couple times I took apart my Kimber.

  • This is almost a piece of cake compared to the 3'' 1911s that Kimber produces, they are tricky little guns to disassemble with their slide retention tool that is needed to disassemble. I guess it could be done relatively fast, but the way to do it without the "paper clip" puts strain on the edges of the recoil spring.

  • Damn if you think that was simple and fast you should get a glock, XD or HK.

    LOL

    Thats a gorgeous firearm!!!

  • thanks i love it. and yeah its not as fast as the glock or a 92 fs but its still fast. i can do it alot fast when not explaing stuff haha. i like it because it doesnt require any tools to field strip

  • this saved me about an hour of time. lol. thanks again

  • awesome glad i could help let me know if you have any questions about the kimber ive had one for quit awhile.

  • thanks bro. and yeah the directions they have in the manually for field striping are kind of ridiculous. to many extra steps taking.

  • that's a LOT faster than the way i've cleaned mine the first two times..i guess this is the "alternative method" they talk about in the owner's manual...MUUUCH FASTER!..nice gun bro
