I used to hitch-hike to Chesterfield & back, 5 times a week between 1964-6. I would stick my thumb out just beyond the first garage. I used to hide from a bank manager drivng to Clay Cross as once picked up and then dropped off there, it was painfully difficult to get another ride. After Shirland, i can't remember any of it! I left for London in 66. John Tams, Roger White & some other guy would also queue to get a ride too.
I have just heard this tune on a short film directed by Shane Meadows which features on the extras of the DVD "Dead Mans Shoes" It absolutely blew me away, I have a tattoo on my lower back which reads "A Northern Soul" inspired by the identically entitled track by "The Verve" Now I have two amazing tracks to listen to whose titles I am proudly carrying around with me for the rest of enernity.
yea i no but i dont see him that much cos hes mainly workin when they come down or we go up but he was there last time (this is my new user as the other stopped working!)

He's the lead singer in Clayhill and Sunhouse.
I met him after the UNKLE gig in Nottingham.
