  • Now when they ask my opinion or thoughts about human existence I will say that we are here to create plastic cause the earth didn't know how

  • One hour from now, another species of life-form will disappear from the face of the planet. Forever. And the rate is accelerating.

  • The environmental movement isn't about the arrogance he describes, it is self interest. We need to work to restrain ourselves to prevent the destruction of the things we are dependent on. We fret about the birds, bees, whales, and snails because we want our children and their children to have the best shot at not being dead. We recognize that many of these things are necessary for that to be possible. Regardless of my quibble with his basic argument, t'was a funny rant :)

  • @rawrified101

but i dare say the majority of environmentalists are those arrogant douchebags who think environmentalism is about "saving the planet" although it is about saving ourselves or more precisely, keeping the planet/nature/whatever from killing us. "environmentalism" should be renamed to "human preservation measures".

  • @szeddezs If we all start calling it that maybe we can make the change :). all jokes aside i agree, most people tend to ignore the reality of the situation in an attempt to make themselves feel good. On the other hand, George Carlin is saying it is completely unnecessary to work to mitigate, reduce, and repair the damage we do to our environment; I think that our harnessing of nuclear power is obvious evidence were capable of literally destroying anything we set out minds to...

  • SAVE IRAQ?

  • George Carlin is my personal hero. Total genius. :D

  • its arrogant to assume humans are capable of effecting an entire planet

  • hes a genius

  • I can listen to ANYTHING this man says, and it will automatically change me. He's so intelligente, logical, and unafraid to speak his mind. This is the man who turned me athiest for christ's sake! (see what i did there) If i could bring one guy back from the dead it would be him. I could listen to his wise and comical words for hours on end.

  • @trickmaster616 and that my friends, is his best Joke yet. you

  • @trickmaster616 you could purchase some dvd sets i believe.

  • Which stand up is this from? I was so sure I watched them all, but I don't remember this at all!

  • the planet can live without us , we can't without the planet that's for sure

    peace & love from belgium

  • Carlin is a true comic genius. He can make anything funny. People who don't get his jokes are just stupid assholes.

  • We are the only species on this planet that kill each-other for no reason, quite barbaric, makes me kinda glad that we will all be extinct some day.

  • he is funny but he makes sense.

  • On one hand Carlin talks about the art of corporate mind control and then he makes excuses for the polluters and spewers of toxins. These people are the same ones who put harmful chemicals in children's food and vaccines. These are the same ones who have taken over the Christian church and turned the gospel of peace into the gospel of war. The same ones who turned the gospel uplifting the poor and denouncing the rich, into the one blaming the poor and praising the rich.

  • @stanjz haha don't judge him... he is... and he will be. Plus, from your words it seems you think your ideologies are more superior to his, and you think your ways are right. Snap out of it = D

  • @stanjz The Gospel of Peace? Are you high? Inquisition, Crusades, Witch hunts, Ireland..... on and on. Read Leviticus and Deuteronomy.... report back.

  • @sparky7718 The gospel is in the NT. We don't have the space to break down everything from the OT. You made my point. Christ and the apostles did not engage in physical violence nor did they advocate it. People take metaphors Christ used such as the sword of the spirit(which is the Word of God) to claim He was violent. They use the a similar trick when Christ knocked over some chairs and chased men of business out of the temple.

  • If any species is endangered it's mankind hands down. Our extinction is imminent.

  • 5:48

    Humans: Why are we here?

    Earth: Plastic...assholes.

    LMAO

  • @Detlockerroom Big difference between environmental nuts and people deliberately killing off species which is was he's endorsing here. He attacks some eco-nuts then endorses letting species be be driven to extinction by humans and then goes back to attacking eco nuts. So screw him the bitter twisted little man.

  • I miss him... :(

  • This is the one thing I really disagree with George on. Nature needs to be controlled - it is harsh, cruel, and malevolent. Cancer? Nature's fault. Deadly bacteria? Again, that's nature. Hell, even our own selfish, greedy survival instincts are characteristics of our own human NATURE. Nature causes famines, droughts, volcanoes, earthquakes, gamma ray bursts, tornadoes, etc. Nature has been fucking with life since it began, so I'm always happy when life fucks with nature.

  • @VegitoVai90 most of the times George Carlin exaggurates to give a point. Now there are people who take everything he says seriously and its normal because if you look at his face you say "No way he is joking, look how serious he is!" haha :D

  • @VegitoVai90 That makes you selfish. Nature gives you everything you've ever had. You live on it. You survive from it. You're either selfish or stupid.

  • @HKfuntime

Yes, I know nature is the reason why I'm alive and all that happy horseshit. I don't feel like arguing over a youtube video, but I'll put it to you this way - that's like your father giving you a huge fucking mansion, and then once you get in you discover its filled with poisonous snakes and wolverines, is extremely flammable, and is filled with carcinogens. Welcome to Earth. Everything we've accomplished has been to control and defy nature.

  • @VegitoVai90 That's called pessimism. Using your analogy, if my father gave me a mansion full of poisonous snakes and wolverines, I wouldn't say the mansion was worthless, nor would I say that the snakes and wolverines were some sort of evil creation sent to make my life a living hell. It seems kind of sad, but our entire lives are basically making it through obstacles. If we didn't have any, we'd be bored.

  • Us humans are so self-important... he's right. We're only worried about our own little habitat and our own personal comfort. The earth will be here for a long time after humans are extinct, and if we somehow make it for 10 billion more years, the sun will run out of fuel and destroy the whole damn thing anyway.

  • Yeah okay so hes saying we shouldn't try to stop ourselves killing off species which we blatantly are btw.

  • @lsynno he's talking about you (self-righteous environmentalists...white bourgeois Liberal)...are you sure you have enough bicycle pads???

  • lol i love how he just described AIDS XD

  • I can actually feel myself getting smarter as I watch this guy rant

  • Genius

  • One good sneeze by Mother Nature and we're all going for a long space trip --->

  • I imagine Al Gore watching this movie in a very comfortable luxury habitat

  • auto immune disease = AIDS virus... just in case anyone didnt catch that bit.

  • @fluffykittynoodles AIDS is what results after HIV does its thing. Quite common to get them mixed up. AIDS is a syndrome, HIV is a virus.

  • @zebezd he just described AIDS in this vid. i was just pointing it out. i guess you missed that.

  • @fluffykittynoodles He just described HIV in the vid. I was just pointing that out. I guess you missed that.

To be fair to you though, HIV is often called "AIDS virus", since it causes AIDS.

  • @zebezd you know what, i just listened to it again. thanks bud.

  • god damn there's nobody like him.

  • Endangered species are like rare pokemon, you can't just let em' go

  • @ihydeurfce sure you can. they weren't fit enough to survive. they would have died anyways.

  • @ihydeurfce yea, too bad we cant just rage quit and catch that bastard with the masterball later.

  • @ihydeurfce i actually think thats a good idiom/ allusion you could then Equate collecting dna samples for cloning like catching them, gotta clone em all!

  • For the most part I agree with him. A good number of species extinction, environmental changes are obviously correlated with how our Race acts and evolves-whether through technology, ideology, etc. It's not merely just nature "shooing" them away (natural selection).

It's only natural for us to react--that's just the "cause and effect" of it.To be general, we live in this planet, we take care of it. We live in a house, it gets old, so do maintenance, and we PRESERVE as much as we can..

  • @frdrcksncn until the people in the house die, and the house will stick around for a little longer before falling apart back to the way before people started messing with it.

  • @magician168 if you put it that way, yes. We're all just stardust. But my point was, every thing in this earth, even the smallest molecule has some part or "purpose" (I don't want to get all preachy because I'm not religious at all lol). Everything works together, you know? Kind of like how bees are important for human survival (fact), etc..

  • @magician168 As I said, I agree with him for the most part. But if everyone thinks like him..with a "fuck it all..we're just a species passing by in this earth" type of philosophy, imagine how fucked up this world would be than it ALREADY is. lol

  • @frdrcksncn wed have died and the world would be MUCH better. not great for us, but that's his point. humans- even environmentalists- only care about how it effects them.

  • @frdrcksncn But then the would would be much funnier and we would be doing mother earth a favor by speeding up her process of taking care of "surface nuisance" We can stop pretending to be better than other people, other things. Hell chickens are better than us :)

  • @magician168 world.. not would, durr sry

  • He was wrong in this case

  • @jvblg how the planets not fucked, the animals and people are, the human race will end from evolution or an event killing us

  • @jvblg Explain?

  • @jvblg - Wow, you really provided so much information to back up your theory on this one. Ladies and gentlemen, stand back, jvblg says: "he was wrong in this case." Holy shit ... I'm in utter awe of your cutting edge, penetrating insight toward this issue. Thanks for setting me straight, bud.

  • Mr.Carlin was a very good political and social speacher but not very funny. I'm sorry but is true.

  • @jvblg I like to think of Carlin as a man who made you think first and made you laugh second.

  • @jvblg This is true because he's not trying to entertain you. If you think what he said is something to laugh at instead of something to inspire you to think then you're missing his point.

  • People in the US are particularly stupid, naive, and love group thinking. George Carlin was a hero. I am a Citizen of the United States and I hate to say that I don't like living in the US anymore because of all the Freedom that has been taken away from us. Now its all about traffic cameras and invading our privacy. Then its going to be COMMUNISM. Worst than anywhere in the world. They just finished changing the constitution and us the hard working professionals suffer the most. Fuck the World.

  • He's full of crap sometimes. We humans affect the environment in so many ways, we're supposed to do something, at least and try to save it. 90% of all animals that walked this earth are now extinct, should we let the remaining 10% die off just because you said so?

  • @TheRatchetkid what is life on this planet? regardless of how special you or i believe life is. It really isn't. millions of species have come and on and so eventually will we. the decent thing to do is let nature work it's course. It's just pathetic to see these species kept in cages and behind bars just so we can preserve them to make ourselves feel better bout our sins. So what if pandas go instinct. 20 other species die out everyday as well. Just coz some are cuter then others

  • @anhtran Dude, life is precious, to others, not to be, i hate my life but that is really weak thinking. We live in cities, we build factories and skyscrapers and big ass roads, we didn't want to adapt to the environment so we adapted the environment to suit us. We're not thinking about ourselves when we say we want to try and save it, we're thinking about our children and our children's children. Environmentalist are some times full of shit but who isn't xD

  • @TheRatchetkid sheep also directly influence the environment. by farting. the "remaining 10%" would die off by themselves, some species die, others appear, i do think that humans have gone too deep into it all (both preserving and creating new species or sub-species), so it's true that it's probably not for the best to "let's stop doing shit". But Carlin here points out the wrong thought process (similar to that "we let the rest die off" you pointed out) behind it.

  • @Ayoeme Cool story, bro

  • When people say save the planet, what they mean actually is save the environment in which we live. Completely different thing George.

    Aside, great point.

  • That asshole who keeps heckling him around 2:30

  • I miss him so much. We still need his brand of honesty and insight.

  • He got a few good points but one. A computer doesnt self clean or selef correct unless it s been programmed to do so. The planet is a self correcting system because it's been designed so!

  • @janvierdesigns There is a huge difference in a computer and a planet.

  • So you honestly believe the thinking of some the man who wants to hate god?

  • @RandomDrone79

He doesn't hate God. He just hates our various narrow interpretations of God as a species, as varying between narrowminded, to vengeful, to downright violent. Needing our lip service, making us follow bogus commandments about pork and dick flesh. It's a good bunch of bullshit, and it's make believe, drummed up by people who are hungry for power and money, and not being questioned.

If God is real, he's probably not a vengeful irrational prick.

  • @philippides I aint logics whatsoever emotions and god speaks to me and says HELL!

  • RIP George, meanwhile we are stuck here still with these whiny controlling manipulative the-sky-is-falling cocksuckers!! Fuck these people, enjoy your plastic bags , plastic cell phone covers and plastic tits.

  • Brilliant.

  • One of the best things about Carlin I think, is that even though he seems so cynical, and has this depressive tone to his comedy, in most interviews he seemed like a really gentle guy. And honest too. And happy. Like Bill Hicks always said: "It's just a ride..." :D

  • @Faerlon123 True. He always said he had a happy personal life, he was just disappointed with his species.

  • The big electron = GOD :)

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 No. The big electron DOES NOT judge, and DOES NOT reward. This "God" was created by men to judge other men, and it was predicated on the idea that people would be rewarded for believing in it.

  • @rosethorn023 My friend, I understandhow you feel, and what you are saying. But the problem is, GOD's will has been tampered with, misinterpreted, twisted and turned by the evil forces of CBB (CHRISTIANS BEHAVING BADLY). And if you want a good example of BAD BIBLE TEACHING, look up the following idiots. Fred Phelps and Tony Smith. These are people who have fueled the fires of atheism.

  • @rosethorn023 Oh! I forgot to ask you. Are you aware of the scripture (CONVENIENTLY FORGOTTEN BY MANY CHRISTIANS), "JUDGE NOT, LEST YE BE JUDGED". In plain english, if you make a mistake, and I pass judgement on YOU, I'm going to be judged TWICE AS HARD, if I make the same mistake. Yet some of these "SO CALLED" Christians like to judge people like (SOMEHOW) their shit doesn't stink. So again, I understand how you feel.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 The big electron is God. I can accept that. Let's just not expect that Big electron to care about us at all. We're probably no more special than all the other bunch of atoms swirling around and floating all over the galaxies, right? If this greater being exists, he wouldn't give a damn about us. Let's stop being so arrogant. That was the whole point of the video.

  • @Divingraven Thats my point. Man is very arrogant to think they can sentance folks to hell, just because others don't agree with them. Thats why I always enjoyed it when George Carlin would mercilesly attack certain groups of people who took themselves too seriously. Like they had a heaven or hell to put us in.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Ah, I see. You are in communication with the omnipotent author of reality. Wonderful! Ask him how many times a day he thinks I should jerk off. I think 3-5, but does he think that's too little?

  • @TheLockon00 Why don't you ask him that yourself? As far as I'm concerned, just don't get a cramp in your hand.

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Because I am not communicating with him on any level. You, on the other hand, must be communicating with him at a very intimate level, since you know so much about what he wants, what he thinks, how other people have gotten it wrong, and so on. I haven't even gotten a fine "How do ya do?" from the guy. So, obviously, I must turn to you for this inter-dimensional wisdom.

  • @TheLockon00 Personally, I think you are being a bit of a smartass. You are OBVIOUSLY not trying to have an inteeligent conversation. Everything I have already said, should let you know two things. 1. I believe there is a God. 2. I'm very crittical how some Christians have taught scripture. Therefore I'm not one of those bullshit Ned Flanders type of Christians. Case in point, as for your last two comments, FUCK YOU!

  • @Oaklandgirlpitlover1 Touchy, touchy...

  • Wow! So that's what wisdom looks like.

  • "It just is"

     Brilliant.

  • Yay and god said to abraham... PLASTIC ASSHOLE!

  • Mankind is not causing global warming. This is an indisputable fact.

  • @zed6952, no, the fact that right-wing Creationists like you are unintelligent is the indisputable fact.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy

Your comment is misguided and false, son.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy >2012

    >Operating on sweeping generalizations of a people group

    >Probably scream for "equality" while you insult those different from you

    Stay classy, son.

  • @zed6952 The actions of mankind has some effect on the climate. This is an indisputable fact. "Cause" is a very strong word. We did not create the concept of the temperature of the earth changing. We do affect its flow to some degree.

  • @zebezd

It is not an indisputable fact. You are obviously not a man of science. That is an indisputable fact.

  • HAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAH 4:14 IM CRYINg!!!!! hAHAHAHAHA

  • Nobody breaks this shit down like George. 20yrs on, it's still fucking true. And people wonder why they are labelled stupid.

  • ironically he comes off as extremely fucking arrogant (as you do) when generalizing an entire species...this condescendng carlin is not the one i want to remember

  • Love Carlin.

  • "...WE ARE!!" Ohh how I miss georgie...

  • He really shoulda avoided scientific topics. Anyone who reads up on the importance of biodiversity and the change in extinction rates would realise this is just crap.

  • @mrfreen Which part? The part where he states his view that since the Earth has existed much longer than human and therefore is in a better situation than man and that is arrogant to think we can manipulate nature?

  • @krlsurquixa I regret jumping into this cesspit of ignorance. Do a quick google search on historical extinction rates. The conservative estimate is that the current rate of extinction is 100 times the natural rate, with some studies suggesting it's 1000 times higher. The idea that the dominant predator on Earth can't have an effect on the biosphere is farcical.

A society that turns its back on science is a society in decline.

  • @mrfreen All of this has happened before, and all of this will happen again. Nor fears, no worry's. All is perfect and divine!

  • @mrfreen, you have a lot of gall asking people to actually deal with facts! They all know that George Carlin was a renowned biologist.

  • @krlsurquixa, Carlin is flat out lying about what's causing most modern extinctions. Spend some time reading about what they call "The Sixth Extinction" or simply look up species' status on various sites.

The other thing Carlin lies about is the "selfish" motives of "most" environmentalists. That part is odd because Carlin was actually a misanthrope who seemed to respect nature more than people. He may have been on some experimental drug when he did this 1992 monologue. It just doesn't wash.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy he's a comedian bro. whether or not he's trying to make a 100% valid point, he wants to make people laugh and have something to think about after the show

  • @mrfreen, few people commenting on this video appear to read up on much of anything. They are quoting from Rush Limbaugh's playbook of anti-science, anti-nature avarice.

  • i bet the the audience is hearing "lets all trash the planet and kill are selves... and build malls:D"

  • This is pure comedic genius.

  • Fuck the planet, it's just a shitty piece of rock. The only things worth preserving or caring about are the living creatures on it. We know there are thousands more boring lumps of rock like ours, it's only having life that makes ours unique

  • i love george, without bees we will die within 4 years, albert einstein. But i undestand where he is coming from.

  • I love the Earth's voice haha

  • And thus those of left and right wings raised their swords, and fought for a thousand years in the comment section. Millions died in the bloodiest flame war outside of /b/

  • Winter in Belgium:

10+ degrees CELCIUS for 3 months.

    1 week -5 degrees CELCIUS =>see, global warming doesn't exist. It's cold.

  • @Picasso43967 Stop trolling

  • @medinaw94

    ?

    replied to the wrong person?

  • @medinaw94 Never! Keep trollin; trollin', trollin, trollin'.

  • @Picasso43967 10 degrees Celsius is still pretty chilly. Maybe you should check your research.

  • @GypsyLeah

No offence intended here but if it is 0 degrees in the winter in Norway I call that bloody hot.

It's relative with the normal temperatures of that time.

Normal being 0-5 degrees. Sometimes as low as -3. This year it was 8-10 more often then not. That's hot FOR THAT TIME OF THE YEAR.

If it's 20 degrees in the summer in Southern France you call it a cold day.

  • @GypsyLeah

    Also, "check your research".

What research? I live in Belgium, we only work with celcius so I know darn well how warm 10 degrees it...

  • Who are these GW denying shills that seem to invade comments sections across the internet?

So frustrating the amount of ignorance displayed. SEEK OUT THE TRUTH FOR YOURSLEVES PEOPLE! Don't let these selfish money hungry leeches control the web.

  • @meisner73 you are my hero. You put what I was thinking into words. Much like George. Joe bless you

  • No doubt George Carlin was one intelligent man. He is the only person i almost completely agree with about everything. He is right. You cant argue with what he is saying.

  • This ending was masterful.

  • Pack your shit folks!

    LOL

  • And actually, plastic is degradable. Most types of common plastics degrade in ocean water in about a year. Still the chemicals are released, harming the surrounding ecosystem. Except, water bottles, those take longer.

  • @thatsexyman, that's only partly true. Full photo degradation of plastics can take hundreds of years. The problem is that they can physically disintegrate into much smaller pieces and be ingested by animals near the bottom of the food chain. Look up Pacific Garbage Patch.

  • If you've read the fungus dribble down below on the comments:

First, fungi are not consumers, they are decomposers. Second, They do not consume anything, they are simply by products of decomposing life. Plants, animals, bacteria...

  • He's right

  • By the way, recently a new type of fungus was discovered in South America (I believe thats where) that EATS PLASTIC.....Nature 1 Humans 0

  • George Carlin is GOD

  • genius

  • Nature does not hand oss weapons so we can slay some animals by the millions. We do that not nature and that is what we are trying to stop.

  • 4aSteadyStateEconomy:If you havent noticed, dipshit, George Carlin was a stand up comedian, not an astrophysicist... he did do alot of reading though..... and what the fuck are you doing here for anyhow? shouldnt you be on the Carl Sagan or Steven Hawkings channel? You sound like a droll troll and you need a little humor in your life... now go back to your Rene Decartes math problems while stroking your dick!!

  • Comment removed

  • It doesn't punish, it doesn't reward, it doesn't judge at all, it just is. And so are we.

  • When we can resurrect human beings from the dead, PLEASE PLEAS PLEASE

Let's make this man president of the world.

  • @Dreeesch, learn the difference between wHales and the Wikipedia guy.

  • Many right-wingers like this clip because they think it vindicates their "who cares?" attitude toward human destruction of nature for profit. Some have editorialized this clip with "global warming" in the title, as if Carlin was a global warming denier (no he wasn't).

You really have to strain to see Carlin's point here. It was badly delivered and disrespects the motives of honest environmentalists by claiming they're all yuppie hypocrites.

  • 4aSteadyStateEconomy lmao you clearly have no idea what you are talking about. in the time span of the earth existence humans only existed the amount of time a flea does and somehow our short amount of time is killing the earth? he is not talking about being above nature and its okay to kill animals. he's making a point that they use this kinda of stuff to distract you from whats really going on and our arrogance let us believe we are dominate to something so powerful we don't even understand

  • @Ekissaemega, the whole point is that people have done massive damage DURING that relatively small period of time! But you choose to IGNORE the damage, or write it off as necessary for the sake of some Holy mandate to subdue the Earth with billions of greedy people.

I know your kind all too well, so don't think you're educating me. If any other species was altering nature like Man is, you'd be demanding its annihilation. But when people trash nature it's called "economic growth."

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy Actually, honest environmentalists are a minority in the world.

As far i know, either a majority rules or some corrupt dumbfuck politican.

That said, there is no hope to save enviromental destruction untill the point we destroy ourselves.

Can you convince China,India,Russia or the US to stop polluting the air? are they willing to give up economic growth. Not a chance in hell.

Think about it. We are fighting poverty, famine and human greed.A losing fight.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy I don't think it's all that complex. He's stating that people are always worried about things they can't fix, especially the planet. People will always pick out what they want to hear and use it to their advantage. That's how the bible works; some passages more violent than others, pick and use.

Anyway, sorry if I'm like the 500th reply. I just thought I'd say my piece before I go extinct.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy You're so full of back-peddling crap it isn't even funny.

You don't have to strain to see his point, and his point was extremely well delivered.

You're gonna save the fuckin planet?!

    LOL

    Honest environmentalist MY ASS

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy He's also saying we'll die out anyway. If anyone actually used this in an argument then they're genocidal maniacs. >_>;

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy Now, I'm not a right-winger myself...

But it sounds like you're doing some Biblical interpretations to come up with what George Carlin -really- intended to say.

  • @Schwazoom There's nothing in his comment about the bible you dumb stupid fucking bitch

  • @knucklez2 Dumb stupid, huh? Man, that's some brilliant strings of insults there. How do you even manage?

What I meant was that you need to do ridiculous interpretations like people interpret the Bible to come to the conclusion that Carlin isn't making fun of environmentalists. Carlin is, in fact, known to be apathetic and fatalistic.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy So Carlin is an environmentalist, but he spent 7 and a half minutes making fun of and disproving environmentalism? He didn't say global warming wasn't real he just said it isn't as big a deal to the Earth as it is to humans. It'll kill humans off, it won't destroy the earth. That's kinda the point of this video. And frankly a lot (not all) of environmentalists are hypocrites who live in huge houses and drive expensive cars and then bitch about it on TV

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy

I agree with your 1st statement but I believe Carlin did not set out to 'disrespect the motives of honest environmentalists'. I think he rather attacked those who use such titles to promote themselves while masked as good people.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy It's semi-true though. Some people are deluded in to thinking they give a shit about the planet, but really, they're worried about how a change in the planet will affect *them*. That's why you have people saving pandas, whales, koalas and nobody giving a shit about say... the blob fish.

Though I agree. Other people have taken this too far in that direction and use it as an OK to be wasteful bastards.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy Whoever claims to like and understand George Carlin, should probably know that absolutely nothing is ever black and white.

  • @4aSteadyStateEconomy His point is that Humans are not saving the world, his points is we are trying to save ourselves!

  • @johnq3000, I can see pieces of that message, but overall he delivers it the wrong way and flat out lies about the causes of modern extinctions - as if they'd happen at the same rate if Man had no effect - nonsense!

In many of his other bits he delivers a similar message more intelligently.

  • @johnq3000 yes we are trying to save ourselves, we are the world. In the sky exist bilions, trilions, .....of planets but our habitat is here and we try to leave it leaveble for future generations. Those how don't care about the environment trying to save, not themselves, but their bad behavior.
