  • is it just me or does the whole excels at short passes sound like akilli smith

  • Ponder isn't bad guys, you think hes bad because our o-line is bad. Have you seen his highlights he is actually good enough to get passes off with his good awareness.

  • who else was pissed at this ?

  • flop, they need a new qb

  • @hussein335 you cant judge a qb by his rookie season

  • @X360ISAIAH uhm? cam newton? andy dalton? blaine gabbert sucking testicles? hell ya you can judge them are you serious?

  • @hussein335 No you really can't...The only one I'll agree on is Blaine Gabbert for now...But Ponder actually played pretty well. But he needs better coaching. He's so smart, but he needs to recognize his physical limitations throwing. I really like this kid, I think he'll be successful. But I've seen plenty of QB's suck their first year, and then become REALLY good. I don't think he'll be a star, but I think he could work up to where Matt Ryan is now.

  • @ExpertHipHop newton and dalton are great rookies. you can judge them by their rookie year. you already know they will be playoff contenders in the years to come. just look at andy dalton+aj green, 2 rookies, im pretty sure you can judge rookies

  • Dude, the feel in Minnesota was that we needed a young QB to be the face of the franchise... Simple ponder was the best we could get. Saying we can get Luck or RGIII is easy to say now that we finished so low but you can't foresee the future.

I agree with you that we should have drafted D instead of ponder though cause lol we suck

  • @TheRooverCopperfield its not his O line that had trouble, they faced some pretty good pass rushers this year, SUH, Peppers, and Mattews twice Ware, the G-Men defensive front. but this is a West Coast offense that only needs a couple of seconds to get rid of the ball, he had 8 in the box all season and you mean to tell me he couldnt produce better than Dalton or Newton? listen every avg qb could use a better line and good WRs but the great ones can work with wat they have

  • @Titansokiseeyou are you in idiot? your telling me the Vikings o-line did not have trouble? every time Ponder had pressure on him, our O-line sucks.. why else do you think the Vikings are gonna draft Matt Kalil? you must of not watched 1 Vikings game all year.. Plus Ponder is a rookie, and you can never say a Rookie or anyone is gonna suck after their first year. doesnt matter if its west coast or not you need time to get rid of the ball, and it's hard to get rid of the ball also with no WR's...

  • @TheRooverCopperfield I appreciate the fact that you are a die-hard fan and not these lame ass bandwagons who jumped on when farve was there, but you are making my point exactly, I never said Ponder sucked I just thought he wasnt a 12th overall selection, you just said that your line sucked, so why didnt they draft a linemen instead? I personally dont see Ponder taking you to a SB but thats just my opinion...along with everyone elses predictions

  • @Titansokiseeyou Lol The Vikings line is shit, and plus it does not matter if it is west coast you still need a good O-Line, and plus the Vikes have shitty recivers beside by boy Percy, I'll sum it up for yeah..."Ponder drops back for a pass, 4 defenders break thourgh there rushing Ponder, Ponder looks for an open reciver... but no one is open, because The Vikes have no o-line, or WR....... lol bro u need to watch Ponder play before you can judge him bro....

  • @MistfulRain like I was telling the other guy if you go to my first post I said that he was good but they reached too high for him, you say they had line issues? Mike Pouncey, Nate Solder wouldve been better picks, Torrey Smith coulve fit their system. All Im saying is because they reached for a qb so high they will miss out on Luck, Robert Griffin, and future qbs Matt Barkely, and Landry Jones all who had better collegiate seasons

  • @Titansokiseeyou honestly I was totally shocked when the Vikes selected Ponder, but you can't judge anyone their rookie year, who has especially no support around him, but I believe Ponder can, and will be a great QB. His throw on the run, and pinpoint accuracy on the run reminds me alot of Aaron Rodgers

  • @MistfulRain believe me Im not judging anyone I just felt they didnt have to reach for a qb this year, I do however believe later down the line he will not amount to his draft status and the Vikings will realize that as well as far as the A-Rod comparison..idk bro Rodgers was extremely accurate in the pocket and outside as well, he fell in the draft cuz not alot of teams needed a qb at that time

  • @Titansokiseeyou and Rodgers was garbage for his first 3 years, that's why they kept sitting him and drafted Brian Brohm before finally giving him a shot to start. Give him time and a better team before you shoot him out.

  • @thegopherking lmfao are you serious? Farve played almost every snap when Rodgers was drafted so what are you talking about? and 2nd If u look at my first comment on here I never said that he was not good I said that the Vikings couldve used that pick to help the line or fix another need, instead they got trigger happy and now are gonna miss out on RG3 and Andrew Luck, Ponder cant just go out there and play in any system he needs help. that pick shouldve went else where

  • @Titansokiseeyou Well no crap, sherlock, but during his first three years he threw one touchdown in the games that he did relieve for Favre and had 5 turnovers. Doesn't really say a lot when you draft a quarterback in the second round when you already have one in the wings that you're "confident" in at the time being. Do you really think they would have said "oh we'll just tank for RGIII next year?"? Their possible only choice was to take Ponder at the time. McShay said the same thing.

  • @thegopherking he played 7 games in in his first 3 seasons lmfao are you really bringing this up? look at years he played a full season bro and he was drafted in the 1st round and Im not saying tank but they knew that next year that there was gonna be way better talent at that position next year, Im just saying RG3 and Luck but theres Ryan Tanehill and Brock Osweiler all did way better than Ponder, they could had their shot at a better AND at the same time fill the other needs

  • @Titansokiseeyou lmfao is that the only thing you have to say? Aaron Rodgers aside (he has obviously turned out well), do you really think that any organization in the NFL would ever tank a season in order to get a prospect that hasn't even declared for the draft yet? That would be incredibly stupid. Besides the fact that Osweiler and Tannehill didn't produce near to where Ponder did, I would much rather have a quarterback assimilated into a system before building around him than the opposite.

  • @Titansokiseeyou That and the fact that you have no idea what the next season had in store. They didn't know RGIII would have the senior season he did, and they needed a quarterback to build with then and there. Why would they risk not being in the position to draft a quarterback the next year? Now they have the chance at a prime skill position as opposed to making an even bigger reach for Tannehill or Osweiler, because RGIII and Luck aren't going to be there at number 3 anyways. "Lmfao."

  • @thegopherking who said Tannehill or Osweiler in the 1st? Im saying they are better than Ponder and do you really think the Rams are gonna draft RG3? if you do then you dont kno football, you dont have to know whats in store in next season if because you see the talent ahead you know that next year Barkley and Jones will be there next year lmfao

  • @Titansokiseeyou You said that they were, and they aren't better than Ponder, by the way. You would know that if you knew anything about football. I didn't say that he'd get drafted by the Rams; I said he'd be gone in the first two picks, because a team will trade up for him. Can you read? Or know anything at all for that matter? And LMFAO Barkley and Jones are going to be SENIORS next year. Luck, RGIII, and Osweiler are ALL juniors right now, there was NO way of knowing they'd have declared.

  • @Titansokiseeyou If you really think that a team would tank for a future, undeclared talent, then you actually just don't know anything. And, just so you know, Tannehill and Osweiler don't match up with Ponder on ANY level playing ability-wise. The Redskins and Browns (as well as Seahawks and Dolphins) are prime candidates to move up for RGIII at Number 2. But you obviously would already know that if you knew anything about football. GTFO, noob. "LMFAO."

  • @Titansokiseeyou Also, I'm done arguing about this. I don't mean to be rude, I just don't want to argue. My apologies if i offended you.

  • I went to high school and played football with Christian Ponder, so I'm more of a fan then anyone here...

  • Ponder: pros: Smart Accurate from short - medium Learns quickly

Cons: Lacks the "massive arm strength" like Gabbert. Forces too many passes Injury prone

Notes: INTs doubled once Mcnabb left... Say what you want but Mcnabb is experienced Offensive weapons: Harvin, possibly Rudolph??

  • who the hell clicks on these videos just to argue with fans of other teams...

  • lol he said get percy harvin and rice helthy and ready i dont think he knows rice aint for us anymore

  • U should watch the NFL draft on NFL network not espn.

  • This has to be one of the worst picks in the NFL. Not because he isnt talented but because he drafted way too high. Minnesota missed out on Andy Dalton and will watch Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III go to other teams smh

  • @Titansokiseeyou so the Jemarcuss Russel and Ryan Leaf picks were better?

  • @Shadow9220 thats why I said "one of the worst." Yea those were bad but Russell and Leaf were both projected 1st overall picks. Ponder wasnt even considered a Day 1 choice so to reach all the way up to grab him, knowing that possibly Landry Jones, Andrew Luck, Matt Barkley, and Robert Griffin III hell even Kellen Moore would be in the next draft is stupidity.

  • @Titansokiseeyou lol not even close.... Ponder has all the tools to be a great nfl qb(his arm is decent)..Ponder just has no one to help him... and the Bills, or Redskins would of picked Ponder up in the late round.... so you tell us why Ponder has no talent at all,,?

  • @TheRooverCopperfield any QB that has a rocket arm and average accuracy has "tools" to play in the league so im not impressed. I dont believe hes a starter in the NFL and never will be. I said its one of the worst picks because instead of waiting for a real QB to enter the Draft they pulled the trigger on a guy who only did superb in the Senior Bowl. Now have to watch Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III go to other teams because they were in such a rush to get a qb.

  • We should have won that nfc championship in 2009 the saints won in overtime by a 3 pointer

  • Hey the lions have beaten the vikings once in this year and that was the first time on 18 years so shut up lions fan

  • Lets compare stats for Ponders first eight games as a starter to Peyton Manning's:

    Peyton Manning: Yards:1673 TD:11 INT:15 QB Rate:71.2

    Christian Ponder: Yards:1658 TD:13 INT:12 QB Rate:72.3

    Now this Years stats

andy dalton- 18 TDs, 13 INTs, yds 3012, RTG 81 played in 14 games.

cam newton- 17 TDs, 16 INTs, yds 3722, RTG 82 played in 14 games.

    christian ponder- 13 TDS, 12INTs, yds 1757, RTG 72 in 8 games.

Im talking about passing not rushing, Vikings don't need that, so your CAM story is N/A

  • @sethcorn This is also with one of the worst Offensive lines in football! And a secondary that gives up almost 300 yards a game

  • Colts just won... That means that the vikings will pick first in the draft.... And with the first pick in the 2012 nfl draft the Minnesota Vikings select Andrew Luck!

  • @BuddhistNun what's that now???

  • @BuddhistNun colts got the first pick..and why pick Luck when Ponder is a solid QB? give him some receivers and a better O Line and he will shine.

  • Comment removed

  • I guess every draft Scout has bit their tongue on Ponder and Dalton. LETS GO VIKES!

  • @biggsburke101 GO LIONS! loving beating the fucking shit out of the pussy ass vikings, hey jared allen what were you saying about detroit bitch? what was that? hahahhaha. suck it pussy!

  • an mba degree that is some achievement

  • Then they need at least 2 new corners and a ss. Move winfield to fs. If they sign a FA wr, then take morris claibone and line him up opposite of cook and hopefully he gets his shit straight. weakside linebacker is needed, depth on the D-line and an overhauled secondary. Maybe pick up case keenum out of houston in the later rounds for competition at the qb position.

  • If they get weapons around him and overhaul the O-line, he will be a beast. He didnt have a great mentor like Rodgers did, so he's gotta learn on his own. Packers are a wll-rounded team, but have a secondary that's not great against the pass. However, they do come up with a lot of big plays considering they have 23 interceptions. Woodson is a beast, I'll give him that. I do believe it'll take a couple good draft classes and free agent signings to get back to the top.

  • Fuck Ponder!Faggot bitch singlehandly cost me 2football pools!O yea fuck Vikings d too!Bastards knew wat Tebow was gon do n still couldnt stop him, purplepeople eater my ass!!

  • yes he threw 4 picks yesterday. Thats one game of the season he played terrible.

  • They booed ponder, he showed them haters he can play

  • Ponder is a beast and will win games for my Vikings. Ponder and the Vikings so far has been the closest to beat the packers and we have a chance to beat them next week. GO VIKINGS!!!!!!!!

  • i dont understand the comparison of newton and ponder. i realize they are both qbs from the same draft class, but they are totally different players. newton is a physical specimen with a big arm and great athleticism. ponder is a smart player that will beat with this accuracy and overall awareness. i think both will end up being real good.

  • @MrBroseph311 QBs from the same draft will always be compared

  • go Ponder!!!!!1, i think he will stop the packers winning streak, next game in a few weeks , he almost had the packers a few weeks ago, he looks promising

  • im a vike fan but ill admit newton is easily the best rookie qb but i do think ponder will be a francise qb and win more games than newton but newton is an absolute freak show!

  • beat cam newton

  • @seminoleboy96 man i remember watching the combine for the 07 draft and everybody was hyped up for russell when at the time i thought brady quinn was the better qb(he wasnt to great either) but just looking at russell and even though he had an arm he never ever read a defense just snapped the ball and forced passes

  • =)

  • Once a Seminole Always a Seminole! We will miss you! But your moving on to better things. You will lead the vikings to the playoffs and eventually the superbowl. Best of luck Go Noles!

  • @PackersBestTeamEver Crush? You still won...but not by more than a touchdown. We have a future Aaron Rodgers on our team. You mad?!

  • You love Christian Ponder??? If you love him, then you'll love my song I wrote, and composed about him!

  • Mel Kiper has to say "Chad Pennington" in order to protect his stupid board, and say "overdrafted". Ponder is NOTHING like Pennington. Ponder can run. Ponder has a stronger arm. Rocket arm? NO. But stronger. Ponder can buy time in the pocket. You could tell Gruden liked the pick, and was dissing Kiper with his comments.

  • Why is this another "big time low moment"? Maybe we should wait and see.

  • @cesar1963able

I could be wrong, but I think he said it was a "whoa" moment. Didn't he?

  • Unfortunately, we'll have no clue of his ability this year since McNabb will play all 16 games this year.

  • @cesar1963able nope, ponder is expected to start next week

  • look lets take this season as a loss. keep mcnabb, hold ponders ego down, and make him an elite qb behind mcnabb just like rodges was behind favre. Patience is key :)

  • fuck mcnabb. Bring in Ponder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hes good. i just wish he diddent take no. 7. remember our last one?

  • @xxcowsxx Wasn't our last #7 Randall Cunningham, who at the age of 34, took us to a 15-1 record and if not for a missed field goal by a guy who hadn't missed one all year would've taken us to our possibly first Super Bowl win??? I DEFINITELY think #7 is just fine for Christian. You live in the past, you got no future....

  • @kerbyk14 um no our last #7 was jackson and he sucked dick.

  • @xxcowsxx DAMN...you can tell how much I paid attention to HIM....my bad you're right T.jack sucked, but 7 is a good number and hopefully will be revived by Ponder....

  • @kerbyk14 lol its all good man. hey lets go vikings

  • @xxcowsxx SKOL!! Maybe, just maybe, they come in here expecting a blow-out and we upset their undefeated asses!! (hey, I can dream, right?)

  • SKOL!!!!!!!!

  • he went to my rival high school and hes good

  • Minneapolis eay? Give him a chance ya never know, he may bring the roof down...

  • mel keper was shook when that pick got read haha

  • the only draft that matters is the actual one, i saw a mock that had cam newton going 15th to the dolphins...ponder went at 12 thats where he was going to go so deal with it

  • i hate espn... They act like cam newton is the second coming when during his preseason game he had under a 50% completion percentage. Christian ponder deserves a starting job. not to mention he outperformed all the quarterbacks at the senior bowl and the combine. he has the determination and the passion for the game that echoes a said peyton manning. remeber espn doubted joe montana and praised jamarcus russell, and ryan leaf

  • @seminoleboy96 cam is proving you wrong lol

  • @hellothere1 cam newton gets 50 passes a game it seems like... hell i can get 300 yards passing like cam does... JUST GO ALL FAVRE AND THROW THE DEEP BALL EVERYPLAY.

  • @seminoleboy96 last i check favre had a pretty good career lol. HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE

  • @hellothere1 he is definetly not in the top 5 but thats not bad. He plays forever and throws tons of picks

  • @seminoleboy96 Is he not going to the hall of fame? Was he not a super bowl winner and mvp. and multiple league mvp lol. Being compare to farve is not a bad thing. So again you wrong about Cam just admit it. He is doing pretty good for a rookie.

  • @hellothere1 he wont last 5 years in the nfl.

  • @seminoleboy96 ( he almost beat the packers!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @seminoleboy96 what do you think of cam newton now?

  • @rogahiznumba1 i think that he is a good qb that will last no more then 5 years in the nfl but he will be entertaining to watch.

  • @seminoleboy96 You full of shit he just had 3 td no int. no picks in the past two games. You not even watching the games. You don't have to like him but you can't deny the guy is good.

  • @hellothere1 no its not on his ability that im basing my opinion on... Im basing it on that he is a physical qb and will take alot of hits. And Also Christian has a much better team to work with and will win way more games

  • @seminoleboy96 Ummm they have good reason have you seen cam's stats? He looks like he is going to be an Elite Qb in a year or 2

  • @rob3132 he is a great stat guy cant win many games. He will be history in 5 years.

  • @seminoleboy96 not his fault most of the time. Once or twice it was his fault but that panthers team falls apart. He has little on offense with the line and really only 1 receiver to go to. Pus the defense always gives up a big play when the offense gets in the end zone

  • @rob3132 dude he threw 4 picks yesterday

  • @seminoleboy96 cam has a terrible DEF. All the games the Panthers played they were in it till the end and thats no thanks to their Defense. If he had a solid D, Panthers would be contenders. Ponder will be a huge contender next year once the vikings get a better secondary and some wide threats to prevent teams from laoding the box on AP.

  • @seminoleboy96 cam newton is playing good football

  • @seminoleboy96 yeah what was that about newton again?

  • @seminoleboy96 bet you feel pretty stupid now lol

  • Ponder is DEADLY when he's healthy.

  • FSU FSU FSU FSU FSU................Christian is a great QB as long as he does not get injured.

  • If the guy is the guy, then take the guy, guy.

  • This is a great video. This was done very well and I loved how you included everything that was important. Great work PPE

  • Im a new viking fan, goPonder

  • another stupid 1st rd pick when you see who else was on the board, ponder wasn't going in the 1st 3 rds

  • @socialistmetalhead No it was the danes

  • Im from Sweden and i love the vikes im just wondere was it swedish americans who started the minnesota Vikings?

  • @SocialistMetalHead Not just sweedish, just the all the scandanavian heritage in Minnesota.

  • in 2009 before ponder was ever injured, he was the best QB in the nation. hands down.

  • SKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!

  • SKOL VIKES :D

  • Ponder is the most pro ready qb in this year's draft. He's very smart, athletic and ran a pro-style offense at fsu. He will have a better season than cam newton. The only thing newton has is athleticism and you need more than just athleticism to be a great qb.

  • @kmbnrb89 Agree with everything you said...

  • Interesting pick, but even better was the next pick by the Lions... Someone else to put Ponder on his ass!

  • I think it was a good pick by the vikes, I've watched a lot of his games since he was drafted, and although he can't throw the deep ball that great, the vikes don't have deep ball recievers, with the exeption of Sidney Rice, who may not be playing with the vikes this year, so a good pick for the vikes

  • @1995Chickens he can throw the deep ball just fine

  • I don't get the Pennington comparison, Pennington is / was ungodly unathletic (he could give Bernie Kosar a run for his money). Ponder tied for the fastest shuttle time in a class that includes some very athletic quarterbacks. In terms of his size / stature, nimbleness afoot and accuaracy he compares to Joe Montana and Aaron Rogers.

  • I like Ponder, but i'd be lying if I didn't say I couldn't believe my eyes when he got drafted at #12. I think he's a first round pick, but I saw 25-32 as his range. Still, if you think a guy is a franchise QB then it's always worth it to reach.

He reminds me of Chad Pennington. Great leader, accurate, smart, but slightly lacking in the arm strength and durabaility department. If he stays healthy I think he'll be a top 12 QB in the NFL.

  • @SirLadette Are you a scout? How do you know this?

  • @hisaoawesome

Nope, just a longtime football fan who enjoys evaluating prospects in my spare time. I spent a lot of time thumbing through videos of most of the QB's in the class and Ponder is easily the most pro ready. The question is does he have the upside to merit his high selection, i'm not so sure there.

  • @SirLadette Kudos to the postiive reply. One thing though, Christian Ponder can run so I dont see the resemblence to Chad Pennington. Oh and hes also an over achiever, had a three star rating coming out of highschool, came in to FSU during its lowest point in years, dealt with a coaching change, and left the the program as a better team than when we got there. Of course he doesnt get all of the credit but he did important things for that program and I belive that is overlooked by scouts

  • @hisaoawesome

The comparison had more to do with Ponder's great accuracy, intelligence, and less than amazing arm. Ponder does have more athleticism which should help as the Vikes O-line needs improvment. Didn't know he was only a 3 star recruit, goes to show you how far you can get with hard work.

  • @SirLadette Another thing is that he idolizes John Elway, hence his reckless style of play. I live in Tallahassee so ive been able to follow him since he sighned his letter or intent. Good player. Goinna miss him down here

  • I think this was a good pick up..... Ponder will fit in well, and we will continue to be a good football team for sure.

  • Comment removed

  • Ponder is the hardest working rookie QB we've ever had. It's a breath of fresh air to see this kid organizing camps and already working on the playbook. Daunte never did that! I have a gut feeling we got something special.

  • Rice won't be going anywhere my man, he'll be with us this year...with ap, percy, sidney, shiancoe, rudolph, ponder will be ok

  • i hope 12 is the vikings lucky number sinse we ad pick 12 to pick ponder who's number in the combine was 12 and now that it looks like rice may leave are main receiver could my number 12 percy harvin and according to nfl total access vkings have the12th hardest schedule this season i'm praying it is a lucky number

  • If they didn't select Ponder the Vikings could have selected Andy Dalton or Ryan Mallett.

  • Small coincidence but, he wore number 12 at the combine and was taken 12 overall haha

  • It was a catch 22 for them. If they didn't get a qb, I bet that they would be nailed about not getting a qbotf and always getting an old, over-the-hill qb

  • If there is a guy who you think is a guy that is the guy, then go get the guy.

Now replace the word "guy" with these words

    1) Quarterback

    2) Man

    3) Franchise

    4) Player

  • Good thing this guy can play west coast offense because he better throw that ball in a hurry with Ndamukong Suh, Nick Fairley, Julius Peppers, Clay Matthews, and friends coming off the line.

  • Every pick is a risk. EVERY PICK.

  • They did try to trade down and how do you know he isn't a first round talent? Are you an NFL scout? You have to take a chance at a franchise qb at some point, or we'll be going through the same thing every year. The pick made complete sense. Accept it and cheer him and the purple on.

  • I'm so happy the vikings have a qb to build with and pair with the likes of Peterson, Rice, Rudolph and Harvin for upcoming seasons. With some solid improvement and play for the o-line they now look to have a good, youthful core for the offense

  • The guy is accurate, smart, athletic he has a strong enough arm for the pros, Bill Musgrave is going to coach him... What's not to like? The next qbs in the draft were taken in the early 2nd and who's to say if we did trade back someone didn't trade up ahead of us to take him? I love it.

  • great hope u does not get hurt this year with the vikings

  • i remember people were mad about the vikings and giving a bad rating for them picking Adrian Peterson 7th overall back in 07. i dont hear anymore of that, give this guy a chance!

  • people are retared now days...saying ponder has no arm strenghth he sucks... guess what joe montana fell to the 3rd round cuz he had no arm strenghth...just saying

  • Should have picked Fairley now the vikings are aging bottom dwellers in the north

  • Nice job and Thanks!

  • 2:39 - the moment the Vikings lost their fans

  • @nastynatty42 I'll die a Viking fan.

  • nice video bud.. years down the road i dont believe vikings fans will regret this pick one bit

  • Maybe he might be successful afterall.

  • They picked him because they were worried Seattle was going to at 16, They tried to trade down.

  • purplepp1eater... you rule. Thanks for the Vikes draft vids.

  • @GuitarFuYou No problem man. Go Vikes! =)

  • Wow, he's had a separated shoulder, and 2 elbow surgeries in the past 2 collegiate seasons..... I mean I like the kid, he's a nice and smart kid. Decent athlete.

But he's Patrick Ramsey, or John Beck.

  • Ponder reminded me of somebody, but I didn't know who at first. When the Vikes drafted Rudolph of Notre Dame, it hit me. He reminds me of Joe Montana, who had a little success with the West Coast Offense.

  • Comment removed

  • I HATE this pick only because they took him so early. He would have been there in the 2nd round.

  • @SenorFancyPants87

They just said Washington was going to take him next.

  • @twinkie57401 They assumed Washington would take him. Seeing as Washington didn't draft a QB at all, then i'd say it was a slim chance. It's highly unlikely Ponder was the only QB on their board. The Vikings should have traded back at least. That being said, I think Ponder will be pretty good. I just hope they don't through him to the wolves week 1.

  • @SenorFancyPants87

All Washington's qb's were off the board, so they didn't draft one. Otherwise, I agree with you.

  • @SenorFancyPants87 If you listen to Spielman's press conference though he said they were worried that Washington (who traded back) would take Ponder at #16. I'm sure they tried to trade back as well but with no takers I'm glad they just went ahead and took the guy they wanted. So sure we reached for him but it's better than getting cute in the draft and not getting a quarterback at all.

  • @purplepp1eater All i'm saying is that I would have liked more value for the pick. Either way, I think they should trade for a veteran for him to play behind. I doubt if they can land Kevin Kolb, but maybe McNabb for a low price.

  • @purplepp1eater I'm glad theres Viking fans like you and me. People don't understand that the Redskins loved this guy and had no intrest in Blaine. Ponder was not going to be there at 43 and we couldn't get Locker because he was gone at 8. Skol Vikes.
