I have read a lot of Tomb raider 2012, It has been said to be 'up to' 10 hours long of gameplay. Also, made to be much more challenging than recent games. It has also brought more elements, such as fire as an example. And, it complete new as a reboot, Lara goes threw 'camp training' to learn all her gymnastic moves. It has been shown to be immensely more realistic.
Long answer: it's too early to say, since the game is still over a year away from release. Ever since TRU was released I've lost any illusion regarding new releases, so I'm not even that interested in it. I do know there's a trailer out, but there's not even a single second of gameplay in it, therefore it's useless to me.

Yes but if you recall, before they used the portal, amanda tried clearing the passage way but she couldnt because her waith stone was out of juice. plus amanda would probably be blinded by rage. i think its a good add on to the main ending :3 lol
this was an ending to underworld that was scrapped....with good reason...Why would amanda sneak up on Lara with a rock, when She could have used the wraith stone she had. Especially when she knows Lara is carrying her pistols

What's so surprising about that? Not only the ending is different, the whole DS release is - a completely unrelated game just like the PS2 release, among others.

I don't even understand your question really. Why is it you feel that Natla dying has anything to do with a next release? Natla is TR1 legacy, no other game had any mention of her at all, until CD came along.

To me it is clearly Jan Mayen Island. The video shows the door to Valgrind (0:32 - 0:40) exactly as it appears on the first cutscene on Jan Mayen Island. And I don't see any mountains either. I would expect to see some if it was Nepal...
There's no stone dais in this cutscene. This is a whole different ending and I don't see any connection with the final cutscene you see in the game. Otherwise you'd probably see the monastery in the background.
Since this video was made until the actual game release story changed and level design changed as well. In the original design J.M. Island and Arctic Sea were connected (the hole she blows in the ice to dive was on the island as well) and that explains the background you see here.
could somebody help me? i'm confused.....with the lara croft story i know that lara lost her mother in a plane crash and stuff. Amanda happens to be looking for the same artifacts Lara is looking for in both TRL and TRU so that alone makes them rivals. She also holds a deep grudge on accounts of what happened in Bolivia.
The doppelganger is just an instrument Natla uses to help her pursue her own goals. Natla's goal is to trigger what she calls the 7th age - some sort of cataclysmic event that would destroy life as we know it on the planet and allow for a fresh start and a new order of things.
In TR1/TRA Natla uses Lara and Pierre (among others) to fetch the Scion, an ancient atlantean artifact that would allow Natla the power to trigger this event. Lara eventually stops her from achieving her goals. So they're also naturally enemies. In TRU again Natla uses Lara to carry out an alternative plan to achieve the same goal and yet again Lara stops her.
Of course this is me making a long story short. TRA/TRL/TRU are a trilogy of games. Play them all and you'll get a few more details.
my dad works in crystal dynamics and he told me that the reason they didnt put this in the game is because they night make amanda a re-apperance in the next tomb raider. if you want to know anything about tomb raider post a comment on my profile :)
