hi i plan on going to the range tommorrow for my birthday and i recently bought me a shotgun(Remington 870 Express, 28" Barrel, vented/ribbed) . But i have never fired a shotgun (I kno to lean into the shot and have a good stance) I dont want to shoot paper targets as i kno they'll shatter on the first 2 shots but i really want to go skeet shooting or trap. Any tips?
@peanutapt Hey PeaNutAPT - Well first off Happy Birthday Brother!!! Ok so down to the business side, Tips....I can think of many tips and or tricks to do but first off is GUN SAFETY! Learn your gun inside and out (looks like you did a very nice video on cleaning it so I would think you have that already down) Second thing is if you have not taken a Hunter safety course, I would suggest doing so as there is a lot of great information to learn and its a very cool class.
As for the ultimate question you asked... I would start out on Basic trap. Here is how you do this, Load only one shell at a time and only load when your in the READY Gun mode: Then call for the "bird" follow it up with out shooting it and then all the way down till it hits the ground. Then call for the "bird" again. This time after the bird comes out of the trap 15-20 feet follow it up and "Pull Through the bird" and cover it up in your "Sight Picture" when you do this..Pull the trigger.
@IVOIPSG Yea will definitely have to take a hunters course as i want to go hunting too! welll thats sounds like something ill have to do soon and thanks for the birthday wishes. Tmrw should be fun!

@IVOIPSG hard to explain you swing to the target and follow it with the gun not aim shoot and immediately stop the gun its good for clays go to the side you swing the gun
We do shoot upgun unless we are shooting fitas.

You can also do what is called a sustained lead on the target I do that quit often as well.

great shooting . . . i haven't tried 5 stand yet cause its really hard and i dont want to make an ass out of myself. i mostly shoot skeet.

LOL thanks but I missed two of the easy targets. I will be shooting a few more videos today to show how to hit some tough targets on Sporting clays.
