  • Thank You for posting this. Angel Jack was a personal friend of mine, and i was a caregiver to him and his mother until close to his death 2000. ( Jack seems to be the tallest Angel w/ dark hair )He never stopped preforming and even re-created the glitter bubble set (seen here) for a "Peep Show" done in St Petersburg FL in1996. Angel was also a featured Studio 54 drag queen in the 70's, and was seen clubbing in the 80's His scrapbook was a piece of gay history, Angel i miss you, Love Josh

  • Angel Jack (Coe) died about 10 years ago in Gulfport Florida (near St. Pete).

  • A few of the surviving Cockettes will be performing in various shows at the Hypnodrome in San Francisco this spring and summer, starting with Valentines day weekend. There will be a DVD release party for "Elevator Girls in Bondage" in March, and a revival of "Pearls Over Shanghai" (full production) in June.

  • Wow... that sounds very cool. I remember seeing "Pearls over Shanghai" at a midnight show at the Palace in North Beach. Keep me posted as to where and when!

  • Holy shit! FINALLY! 'Elevator Girls In Bondage' will be coming out!!! This is GREAT NEWS!!! And 'Pearls' coming back?!?!? 'Bout time!

  • This is "The Shocking Pink Life of Jayne Champagne"

  • While researching Mary Jordan's film on the Angels (now in pre-production), I found the poster for this show. It reads: "From Award Winning European Tour--Hibiscus and Angel Jack Present FEMME FATALE The Shocking Pink Life of Jayne Champagne Featuring Hibiscus, Angel Jack, Java, Sugar, Mr. Greece, Eloise, Chi Chi--Montgomery Playhouse 622 Broadway (at Grant Ave.) Opens August 5, 1976 at 8:30 p.m. $5.00 General Admission--Special Midnight Shows Friday and Saturday--Original Music by Ann Harris"

  • I'm confused about the actual theater this was in. I had though it was what became the Pagoda Theater on Columbus (it later showed Chinese-language movies)... but this seems like a totally different location near the Broadway tunnel. Anyone have any information about that?

  • "I knew them all, I miss them so, what a different time this is."

  • Do you happen to know which of the memebers are still alive?

  • I know that sweet Pam is still alive, and I heard she is now working in a bank. I heard that she has written a book about her many experiences with the. I also heard that Reggae is still alive and doing theatre work in Marin. Ralph who I was close to the most died last year.

  • Does anyone have the footage of Rodney in a wheelchair singing "I've Got Less Time Than You Do"..and doing a softshoe>? He was dying of AIDS at the time..and what a time it was.Thank youfor this.

  • Wow, thanks so much! How much footage of this performance do you have? Do you remember what year this was? It must be a later show, it's so "together."

  • I think I used most of it that I had.. I think there may have been another minute or two or three but I had to do a little editing to fit youtube... not much editing though... I think this must have been about 1975 or so?...
