This band blew the roof off of "Harpo's in Detroit MI. I was there, I think the best show I've ever seen in my life of 48 years of life! Q ~ R - ROCKS!
saw em at the Forum (now Staples Center) in LA during the Mindcrime tour....neener, neener, boo booooo.....hahahaha. they played for like 3 hours...covered everything...and were possibly the best sounding band I've ever seen live...amazing professionals. Type O Negative opened for them....and yes all the goth chics in the crowd were hot.
I am in tears right now, I remmber being at this concert, was very much in love with Goeff Tate the man is beautiful. this band is isncreadible all around, just a materpices of a song, every song they do is a masterpiece. I miss those days.. xoxo
What an AMAZING performance. Exceptional vocals by Mr. Tate, excellent rhythm section, excellent guitars. Queensryche at its finest. Can't help but watching it over and over and over again. Thanks for this SUPERB upload!
Putting Metallica and Queensryche together was brilliant. It brought in people of different metal genres and exposed them to two different styles of great music. At the time Queensryche was not one of these glam bands with facial talent. These guys have real musical talent.
pleaase someone tell me what cds i should get from these guys... i've just discovered they had such amazing songs watching this concert.. before i only knew silent lucidity and breaking the silence haha so please recommend me their best shit :D
@Flaggius man i got empire and operation mindcrime, those are awesome albums haha i think some of those songs now are my favorites, i guess i'll start getting the other albums people have recommended here :D
@Flaggius warning is the best with self , in other words the 1st 3 were the best and still are. glad u posted all there music is better than what we hear on todays radio. ryke it up
@livio1396 definitely start with the songs eyes of a stranger and i don't believe in love from operation mindcrime then after that listen to the whole record start to finish and look up what the record is about since its a concept then listen to all of empire then all of their albums in order. then you will truly appreciate them!
@livio1396 well depends, If u enjoy more straightforward Metal kind of stuff u might wna check out the first EP(wich to me is actually their best and thats where this song comes from) and the first album, I think those 2 r the best but many many ppl will disagree, but I only think that bcoz Im alot more of a metal fan than prog rock fan
@laithlaith91 Fair play to you, man. I know where you are coming from. I love both good metal and prog so I like everything by QR, at least till Q2K. Even though my favorite QR albums are Rage and Promised, I love their earlier stuff as well. This one is one of their finest tunes with a cracker of a guitar solo by Chris.
LOVE this song. "Roads To Madness" from The Warning is probably my favorite QR song ever now. It's one of those songs that you enjoy more and more each time you hear it cause something else badass catches your attention.
@livio1396 operation mindcrime... empire.... in all fairness, every album has its gems so jus get em all and be done with it... thats what i did! they're a fucking amazing band! x
@livio1396 start from the beginning with, their ep, warning,, rage for order..let it sink in for a few months then go for operationmincrime for a while. a long while. and then you might understand their music. so you can appreciated the albums after.. im a long time fan and every album is an adventure...musically. enjoy!!!
Queensryche was never underrated...They weren't for everyone, they were a thinking mans band. Their songs were filled with expanding ideas of what if's
Most people would say he looks like actress Jamie Lee Curtis though. I agree with the latter because the resemblance in some pictures is so prominent.
This comparison between QR and Metallica seems silly to me because they are very different. Metallica was a phenomenom in metal and one of the most important bands of the genre, but QR can't be labeled simply as metal. They are so unique and original that they can't be compared to anyone, really.
I disagree with you. I saw these guys in Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto back in the late 80's. They backed up Metallica . Queenryche were booed off the stage!!! This was their OPERATION MIND CRIME tour. They were a pretty good little band!!!!!Check the dates on some of the songs on your EMPIRE CD. A few of them were created prior to 1991. Besides, it is just a point of digression!!!They are a great band. I think that you and can agree on that point!!That is where I come out!!!! Cheers Byoof
metallica sounds chilldish comared to them, not that they were not a great band, but QR is a much more serious band if u ask me, and desreved more attention trough the years...
@MrHexOmega I agree with you about Metallica they get way too much credit. It makes soo made that Metallica is in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and Iron Maiden is not!! Iron Maiden was playing that kind of Metal years before Metallica.
@asasassify I saw the tour.. At the time both bands were at their peak.. Metallica's Justice tour was amazing.. Back then, Metallica was the bigger band.. But not by much.. Musically, I agree, Queensryche is a much more talented band in every way.. But back in 89' nobody was upstaging Metallica... It's a shame that neither of them are writing good tunes any more..
@wallyworldfromcanada - I can see how they could get booed off if they opened for Metallica in the 80's. The two bands couldn't be more polar opposites in style and sound. The two shouldn;t have even been put together. That being said - I can still listen to Queensryche songs and find them articulate and ivery creative. Metallica just sounds really dated now. Both were innovators but Queensryche just seems to hold up better.
@Xeper1979 Heh, yeah, this very tour as I recall. Had a fried (Suicidal Tendancies fan) who was predicting disaster at the concert because of it. Great show though.
Putting QR and Metallica was a business decision. They had the same management team Q Prime (Metallica, Def Leppard, Dokken). Their managers wanted to expose QR to as wide audiences as possible.
@wallyworldfromcanada It is a cruel world... Ask Anvil... the awesome canadian thrash band that pretty much started the scene. They got screwed somehow and never made it. Queensryche was pretty popular though and still are... awesome voice.

Metallica can and never will QR.
James Hetfield is nothing less than nothing compared ti Geoff Tate.
Queensrÿche's standards are way higher than Metallicas.
Once they backed up Bon Jovi.
Bon Jovi had no chance to continue the concert like QR began it
