Points detracted for being too young (stupid?) to understand the appeal of the retro-future look that this movie is emulating, for blasting through this review like you've been injected with caffeine and for your slur against my orientation, which is something I should expect from what I assume to be someone in his tweens but it's a shame you feel that way about potential viewers, kid.
I don't care what you say. This was a good movie. I loved the retro past future look. the plot was not bad but I wasn't expecting Tolstoy. It was just a fun flick. No more. no less.
I loved Sky Captain. I don't know why I prolonged watching until recently. The only thing that I didn't like about the film was the ending with the spaceship.

@scenewhorereviews Your review is ridiculous. You say bioshock makes sense and "Sky Captain" doesn't? They did not go to outer space, they blew up the rocket before it went into space. Joe and Dex are not gay, that has been discussed to death on the Internet movie database, and it has been agreed upon that they are not gay. In fact, it is hinted that Dex has a crush on Angelina Jolie's character, Joe is more of a father figure to Dex than anything.
Not really a need to lay out an argument to somebody who makes a video purely because he realized that Yatzee is famous for ripping on great things and that he can do that too. Every thing you listed as being bad ( rockets, king kong inspired, comic books, blatent gay overtones ) is the exact reason why this movie was made. You are just stateing that the movie acheaved exactly what it wanted and somehow that makes it bad.
This was a beautifully imagined film and has homages you clearly do not understand, you vile dick.

Oh, and bonus points for mentioning Dr. Steel... except the robots were inspired by designs from old Superman cartoons. Oops.
Again, leave the reviews to people who have seen movies that existed before 1980, and you'll go farther than you are now.

Not really a need to lay out an argument to somebody who makes a video purely because he realized that Yatzee is famous for ripping on great things and that he can do that too.
