It may not have 500HP or 600Ft torque, But it was the workhorse of its day. And its very durable. I still drive it.

Stud a 6.0, throw in an EGR delete change the oil religiously add a lil rev x and a coolant filter, and you wont have any issues. Chip it, better build the transmission or say good bye to direct drive clutches and reverse pistons.

I have had great luck with my 6.0 dually, even tho i use it as a daily driver and dont tow or anything i have 446hp to the wheels on stock headgaskets for over two years with no problems. its all about tunning.
The problem was not Ford, it was the fact that Navistar built a engine with major defects and tried to pass it to Ford. It cost Ford hundreds of millions in warrenty repairs and they took Navistar to court to recover the cost. Check out the truth and then make statements.
The only reason the 6.0 liter Powerstroke sucks is because the government rushed them because the 7.3 was "killing the environment" . The government shouldn't have any say in stuff like that, it's BS

I work at a MAJOR ford dealership we do alot of diesel work (mainly 6.0 and 6.4 INTERTRATIONAL ENGINES) Before you open your mouth maybe get some real world experience! We have not seen a 6.7 ford diesel in the shop yet!! The new cummins 6.7 is not proven yet! They have issues also. The isx and bigger cummins have some major issues too i know because we are also a peterbilt dealer. We have alot of car hauler companies using fords with great luck!

Just looked up the tow ratings on their sites FORD checks in at 24,400 DODGE 3500 max on any package they offer is 22,700 small difference but enough to consider
The 7.3 i believe would be considered equal in reliability to the 5.9. The 7.3 was put in a much better truck though. I dont mean to offend anyone its just i know for a fact ford suspensions,and transmissions last longer. I do admit i like the looks of dodge but the cummins injection pump failures get costly after 2 or 3. And the new cummins is no better for the pump failures and now you can add turbo failures to the list.
I think you are mistaken on the tow rating. They may be equal but not way more. The ford can support 22,500 lbs. CDL requirement is at 26,001. Plus the dodge suspensions fall apart. I do have to agee on reliability and only time will tell with the new ford built diesel if it can match the reliability of the cummins.
Anyone can load a perfectly running truck, saying the cylinder block is cracked or an axle broke, load it on any truck or SUV trailer, and drive around in it :). Just about any large vehicle can tow up to 6,000 lbs, and that F250 weighs no more than 5,400 (considering its most basic configuration possible).
They had to get rid of the 7.3 california blows balls for that!! BUT most 6.0 failures are due to lack of maintenence I WORK ON THEM. Ford did not make the engine anyway people forget or just dont know it is a international engine! 6.7 ford engine FTW most powerful factory diesel in personal trucks currently.
@bstngt hp wise, yes, tq wise, it's equal w/ the new HO Cummins...but the 3500 Cummins w/ the right options has a much higher tow rating than the Ford w/ the same package options...and also the Cummins is a lot more reliable and has been around 5 model years now...
what isn't mentioned is that soon after this video, the entire running gear of the Titan broke....u-joints busted, axle destroyed, metal shavings all through the transmission.....

I have had great luck with my 6.0 dually, even tho i use it as a daily driver and dont tow or anything i have 446hp to the wheels on stock headgaskets for over two years with no problems. its all about tunning.

The problem was not Ford, it was the fact that Navistar built a engine with major defects and tried to pass it to Ford. It cost Ford hundreds of millions in warrenty repairs and they took Navistar to court to recover the cost. Check out the truth and then make statements.

ALSO the dodge trucks themselves do not hold up at all! Cummins is a great engine BUT a injection pump failure on a dodge COST more than all 8 injectors on a 6.0 ford!!! The 6.7 Ford is class leading in towing and power agreeably that is just for now! Its a big competition all trucks have their faults and up's and down's. SO grow up and stop bashing other manufacturer's just because you like to run your mouth about your brand of truck!

@wafrederick I am a ford powerstroke tech. I work at a MAJOR ford dealership we do alot of diesel work (mainly 6.0 and 6.4 INTERTRATIONAL ENGINES) Before you open your mouth maybe get some real world experience! We have not seen a 6.7 ford diesel in the shop yet!! The new cummins 6.7 is not proven yet! They have issues also. The isx and bigger cummins have some major issues too i know because we are also a peterbilt dealer. We have alot of car hauler companies using fords with great luck!

@superdutyfreak The new 6.7 powerstroke is a pos.Jasper got a hold of 6 or 7 of them finding big time problems.Plus most in the shop most of the time.My matco tool dealer has talked to Ford techs on his route confirming this.Nothing beats a cummins and the cummins is proven.You don't see a powerstroke in any heavy equipment,fire trucks and semi trucks called blown up.Mostly cummins.Plus most places hauling trailers for a living dont use Fords with a powerstroke,not reliable.

@schnittz actually the f-650 is made in mexico the ford diesel and smaller truck are made in indianapolis isuzu is a foreign company hired because chevy didnt want to or cant build a diesel. Not knocking the duramax but get your facts straight before spouting off. Ford now builds their own diesel. I am a powerstroke mechanic we have not seen a single 6.7 in the shop. We do however see alot of bigger cummins (isx) and alot of the new cummins 6.7 in the f650's we do not work on dodges im sure the

The 7.3 i believe would be considered equal in reliability to the 5.9. The 7.3 was put in a much better truck though. I dont mean to offend anyone its just i know for a fact ford suspensions,and transmissions last longer. I do admit i like the looks of dodge but the cummins injection pump failures get costly after 2 or 3. And the new cummins is no better for the pump failures and now you can add turbo failures to the list.

I think you are mistaken on the tow rating. They may be equal but not way more. The ford can support 22,500 lbs. CDL requirement is at 26,001. Plus the dodge suspensions fall apart. I do have to agee on reliability and only time will tell with the new ford built diesel if it can match the reliability of the cummins.

Anyone can load a perfectly running truck, saying the cylinder block is cracked or an axle broke, load it on any truck or SUV trailer, and drive around in it :). Just about any large vehicle can tow up to 6,000 lbs, and that F250 weighs no more than 5,400 (considering its most basic configuration possible).

Ford did not make the engine anyway people forget or just dont know it is a international engine! 6.7 ford engine FTW most powerful factory diesel in personal trucks currently.

@bstngt hp wise, yes, tq wise, it's equal w/ the new HO Cummins...but the 3500 Cummins w/ the right options has a much higher tow rating than the Ford w/ the same package options...and also the Cummins is a lot more reliable and has been around 5 model years now...

That Kia was totalled out by a cow and guess what? All they had to replace was the headlight on that side and the car passed inspection. Lets see your Ford or Dodge or Chevy hit a cow at 60mph and see if it drives off the scene

That Kias headlights are seperate(the dims and brights are seperate, look it up) and they hit it just barely in the inside of the bright lens. And yes they did drive away from the scene. After the police was done with their paperwork. And before you come back trying to be smart again, no its not the law to have your car towed away.
