This is incredibly coincidental. I was just playing Mass Effect and that reminded me of Blade Runner, so I came looking for music. I am almost certain that Blade Runner had a large influence on Mass Effect's music. I love it!
I thought the part where he finds the origami unicorn, recalls that line and nods understandingly was far more moving when it meant Gaff was telling Deckard he'd been here, but let her live because he wanted them to make the most of their time together, rather than Deckard's nodding meaning he acknowledges he's a Replicant.
Who cares! Everytime I hear this music I think of the first time I saw bladerunner! And how cool, and cutting edge it was. Just so you know I saw it at the Kentucky Theater in 1999. Directors Cut. December 18th can't come soon enough. 5 disc set. Nice!!!

However, the title of the film is actually from another science fiction book by Alan Nourse called "The Bladerunner" - Ridley Scott bought the rights to use the title Bladerunner, or more precisely Blade Runner (note the space).
