  • its all bull shit

  • @The420jatt you're bull shit. He isn't.

  • Ignore the paki chuityas here... they will never get to be on Development related issues...in TED they can only talk about their core competency... terrorism....

  • so much discrimition towards sikhs in india....

do u guys know that a punjabi cant buy property in rajastan, harayan, himitchal pardest. why?

do u know all the water in punjab goes to other for free and punjab only gets 40% of its own water?

fuk u mother fukin hindus and ur animal relgion...

we saved ur pussy ass and saved india and we get this?

and still we are succeeding cuz we r hard workers not pussy like hindus

  • @fktheworld2 Dude, you obviously havent been to India, or else you would never say that hindus dont like Punjabis. Believe me i have traveled all over India and everyone (including Hindus) are very proud of Punjab and Punjabis. As for the so called "discrimination" against Punjab and Punjabis you mentioned, they are just discrepencies in governance, every Indian state/community has similar unjust/unfair treatments being meted out to them by someone or the other.

  • @akram4179 no son only punjabis r being discrinimated by hindus in india....we grow crops in punjab and we should have the right to set our own prices but yet the government sets at which price we should sell our own crops to india....WTF is this? u took harayan, himitcahl and delhi from punjab and now ur not even giving us chandigarh its stuck half way in punjab and harayan....what is this bull shit..any other state which sells there products set there own prices but in punjab its a diff story

  • @fktheworld2 chandigarh is not your birth right ! it was created after independance in 1954 ... not a pre independence part of nation... so it is a part of haryana and punjab both!

sikhs or punjabis you better leave to canada or separatist movements will be crushed just as KPS Gill DID!

  • @akram4179 sikhs are treated worse in there own country of india then in canada, usa and uk.....thats the reason why we wanted our own country.....there is no industry in punjab, the youth is on drugs and farmers are commiting suicides cuz they cant get loan from the bank...just cuz governemt said so.....

fuk u hindus and ur fukin gay india....give us our beautiful land of punjab we dont want ur poor dirty rest of india

  • @fktheworld2 Please dont generalize issues that are localized. And btw, Im a Hindu proud of my fellow Punjabis and so is each and every Hindu i have met in my life!

  • @fktheworld2 ) the discrmination is present in all states at all times. government irregularities promote them

    2) acc to the rule in himachal only a resident or one with domicile cud buy/sell property. so any person who dsn't meet the criteria is not eligible, be it punjabi or gujarati or kannada. FYI the rule has been changed.

check out timesof india website for that

    3) coming to water: i agree punjab has been at receiving end but agin govt not implementing and centre poking nose

  • @abhi9063 no other state is faced with more discrimination than punjab now even fukin close.....and tell me why the fuk was punjab the only state divided? look it up its a very stupid reason.....

dont worry one day punjab will be seperate country and we wil shake all of india and bring it 50-60 back again....india will never become super power cuz sikhs are the back bone of india and if they leave india is nothing

  • @fktheworld2 and they are leaving to be truck drivers!!

haha..truck drivers cant make a country super poweres..ha ha ha... leave your bastards.. you are worth only of self praise..( singh is king shit ) :P

leave the country or you better remember 1984!!!

  • @koolkk03 LOL its funny you say that because if it wasn't for the ninth Guru, Hindus would have been converted to Muslims by Aurangzeb.

Punjab is what farms your food for you people, those truck drivers are who transport it for you. Would love to see a businessman like Ambani try his hand at farming, he cant. Its a MAN's job.

  • @GagzGrova i have utmost respect for sikh gurus . dont take them in the middle of this discussion and Dont forget sikhs are also extended hindus .. nanak dev ji asked for the elder son be donated to the sikh cause.

i also fume at that bitch 'indira gandu' being called as great indian PM .she divided punjab brothers for her petty politics.

  • @koolkk03 Self praising is better than using dirty tactics and using tanks in a Holy place. Its Punjabis and Sikhs saving your bollywood industry at the moment. Why is it that every movie has a Punjabi song or a Punjabi singer. RDB, Mika, Lehmber, Sukhwinder Singh, Daler Mehndi.

  • @GagzGrova but tell me is it correct to kill the innocent hindus for the khalistani cause? dint you get a state... ? arent there any peaceful means ??

you deserved what you get .. army only retaliated when cases of selecting killing of hindus begin in the buses , localities etc.

self praise only blinds & then requires a hard hitting lesson, sikhs always stood for just causes ..look up history ! and then talk..

  • @GagzGrova hahaha.. ok i got it . i accept as long as they are singing songs.. we always respected performers.. and please trell me if born into a particular religion makes a better singer .. lol i am interested in knowing :P

  • @fktheworld2 one thing i dnt understand is u r speaking on behalf of skhs or pujabis cuz last time i checked pujab comprises of nearly 40% religions other than sikhism. i m a hindu born and living in amritsar. m proud to have been born in this country and in this beautiful state. stop spreding hate.. y dnt u say nething about the coruption and lack of motivation in govt to implement policies. when ppl cant fight that, thn they resort to religion to fight which is by far worst thing a man can do

  • @fktheworld2 brother i agree that pujab has faced a lot. but instead of fighting with u i would rather ask the govt y didnt it did what it was supposed to do. dont take me wrong, people have been misled and still they keep on trusting the wrong leaders. regarding division it was wrong. people feel betrayed but then they need to take actions against it rather fight among themselves.

  • @abhi9063 wtf do u want us to do? take action against the government? LOLL dude this is fukin india not america.....ppl killed in 1984 in delhi still havesnt got justice yet...and its been almost 30 years....so if they havent got it now most likely they will never get it.....

india is one fuked up country i wish sikhs went there own in 1947 instead of staying with india.....we fell into the fake promises for mother fukin gandhi and nehru

  • as a punjabi i hate india and wish this country never grows...why? cuz indian government doesnt like punjab..punjab is getting poor day by day whereas other states r growing....punjab was the richest part of india in 1947 and india is where it is cuz of punjab....bombay south india was nothing compared to punjab...

but today bastard hindus want to finish sikhism , we want our own country plz take ur dirty poor india out of punjab plz...and watch punjab become richest country in the world

  • @fktheworld2 go and live in your own country alone..no1's gonna come with you

  • @TheKingofpop370 LOLL then how come hindu bahias from all over india come to punjab?

  • @fktheworld2 i guess you need mental treatment

punjab was never richer than bombay province .show me the credible history (other than your sikhpedia)

what ails punjab today is your drug addiction, women prosititution . control your women they fuck biharis while in India and when uin canada fuck blacks!

we dont want to beat you up you can live in the country in you want bt if you ask for seperate place.. either kill yourself or be ready to be killed coz we will not spare any fucking asshole

  • may allah bless india and make it best and most powerfull country in world

  • @rameez51 Cheers my brother.

  • hï_î_féËl_sÓ_lõÑÊly_tØDÂý

  • @14:00

The American audience were like....He took my job !!!

  • i love India with the ideals of Ashoka the great. India, the empire of the spirit.

  • All this speech seen very optimistic..and the talk about North of India being the source of young generation ..which is really impossible task considering that

70% of of North Indians are uneducated ..the elected politician are also uneducated More than 60% leaves below the poverty line. And in a corrupted government which doesn't wants to make reform to the poor and illiterate so that the can get their vote ...its seem like a impossible task ..unless the corruption is fixed

  • India surely has a promising future

  • If you plan for 1 year, plant rice. If you plan for 10 years, plant trees. If you plan for 100 years, educate children. - Confucius. Chanakya said something similar too.

So India knew this centuries ago but not now. India's public school system is in shambles. I have big expectations from Kapil Sibal.

  • @parthsna not just school whole education sys need to be revised and reconstructed

  • India has lots of sunlight. use it for solar power

  • 250lakhcrore rupees are deposited in Swiss bank from Indian politicians.

If we manage to bring that back which we can if politicians want then rupee will get stronger than dollar.

    1rupee = 1 dollar.

and 1 lakh crore for each state would b more than enough.imagine 30 lakh crore spent on states.220 lakh crore left.buy gold and keep it in rbi hence resulting in strengthening of rupee. we could then fuck american chicks for 1000 rupees.

  • India has a massive workforce. Instead of using them for menial jobs, agriculture & hard labour (like China is doin) if they could be gainfully & productively employed (each making $8-12K/year at least). Also in the rural sectors there is unlimited scope & potential. It is easy to increase income of people frm $80 pm to $160 pm even with basic jobs. And if tht happens, the growth rate will be much higher than 8% & also tht will be truly balanced development.

  • @whatever041085 what makes you say that ? What is your idea ??????

  • @whatever041085 What is your idea ? what makes you say those statements...

  • This growth rate absolutely DOES NOT make me happy at all. I dream of a day when Indian per capita income would be like that of the US, or at least more than $30-35000 per year if not $50000 per year. A day when the Indians outsource their work to the US because its cheaper to get it done in US than in India...

  • For all of you excited about India becoming the 2nd biggest economy, and India growing in economic power, abt the 8% growth for the past 2 decaded - well THAT'S NOTHING TO BE OVER EXCITED ABOUT GUYS...

I am amazed at ur ignorance. Because India's economy may become large in terms of total size (which it naturally should because of the 2nd highest population). But in terms of per-capita income we are PATHETIC. We are No.127 in terms of income. Only about 60 countries worse than us.

  • Nothing will change

..In 2000 many idiotic geniuses told that the poverty will get decreased in a massive rate by the end of 2010..look now..nothing has changed..

  • Shit, the whole of India is going to be populated by bhaiyas..

  • @f0b0m : That scares me too..

  • words of Nandan Nilenkani are quite effective. His concept of the ideas and the way he has linked it to the fundamental growth of the country is outstanding.

his vision of the changing ideas and changing state is marvelous. I prefer this video to be shown in every educational institution to multiplicate its effectiveness.

certainly it would help to bring consent among the natives and help us to manifold

    our productivity.

  • It was a super speech by Nilkeni Sir,So its my Humble words to entire world that its the time for INDIA.Bach KE RAHANA

  • future of infy

  • People like this are the true assets of India. We need such leaders with vision at the top.

  • This is a great speech. But India has lot a challenges with many political parties. Bringing up a good right thing is tough but bad things get into people minds easily. China is the biggest competitor for India.

  • A Very CANDID analysis

  • His speech was towards our nation impressed me a lot.His idea for the future india inspired me a lot.I will go with almost all the ideas you have said, except the idea of education & economic. We can't say that people are preparing govt.schools only because of the reason that they conduct less function. Our govt.schools lack efficiency staffs & essential equipments & also we can't say that the sales of cell phones is an evidence for technological development not only mobiles selling at a high rate.

  • Cities are Power houses of growth, creativity, industry ?? I do not quite accept with point Mr.Nilekani ...

  • cities are the power engines of growth.because its here most of our economic activity is concentrated especially manufacturing and the service sector.and these power houses are grossly inadequate of the infrastructure both civic and physical. And that is the reason nilekani calls them as ideas in progress. that does not mean neglect rural areas...it is rural areas that run these power hoses thru the required raw materials...starting the chain from the most basic material FOOD.

  • we should work for great India, we have all sources and resources

  • So therefore, it has only taken 17 years for my motherland India to become the second fastest growing major economy in the world.

  • @anwer82119191914 yay! hope for the best.

  • Since 1991, continuing economic liberalisation has moved the economy towards a market-based system.A revival of economic reforms and better economic policy in 2000s accelerated India's economic growth rate. By 2008, India had established itself as the world's second-fastest growing major economy.

  • But in the year 1991 our great Indian prime minister, the then finance minister Manmohan Singh initiated economic liberalisation. The growth that has taken place thereafter has been very impressive and simply outstanding.

  • Yes its true that India got independence in 1947. But Indian economy did not the enjoy the same freedom since it was characterised by extensive regulation, protectionism, and public ownership, leading to pervasive corruption and slow growth.

  • Every problem with India now is because of the British. Don't give me the "British modernized India" rhetoric; they are the reason for the poverty, and the creation of Pakistan.

  • And Concerned I am.Democracy although is the best form of governance in a civilized world does create problems with fast decision making & implementation.Always leads to the grid lock mentioned. Also sometimes I feel the flaw in a democracy is that ure handing over the right to people to create their own governments but how many people are even clear what they want from own life, most people repent on their decisions so how do u expect them to rightly chose a candidate...:(..

  • America got independence on July 4, 1776 while in on 15th August ,1948 , read it again. So, America got independence 213 years back while india 51 years which is 1.5 half century before. Clearly growth of america and technology is very slow. Amazingly there is only 19 years of difference in landing space shuttle on moon both by india and USA. ISRO, indian space research organization lauched space vehicle in just 7.3 years of foundation of project , while USA took 23 years to work upon.

  • @haryiips07 India got independence in 1947 and not 1948. America has never been a third world poor country even after it got its independence, while India today as well is a third world country with one of the highest levels of poverty and corruption, just because you live in Mumbai/Delhi you think India is booming goto small town and villages and see the real India. USA also has poor people but no its not as poor as India, it would only be stupid to compare poverty levels of the two.

  • @whatever3009: Please do not talk about corruption. Look what wall street has done to you, dont thing for a second that was possible without politicians in bed with these companies. Further things like lobbying which is considered legal in the state is illegal in India.

India does have problems and will overcome these problems and we will do this without destroying half the world.

  • Yes as i said before we still have problems .. and we will overcome them without destroying the world . Nothing about the USA, why are u getting personal. .. Now that u have started stop wasting time .. get a job and pay ur credit card bill

  • situations never remain same, india was much more than america for thousands of years, its just due to invasion we were a bit back but 60-65 years after independence we have done much and we will surely make much big. What was America? it has just came up in last 100-150 years doing bussiness in world war. it will surely take few more years for USA to shrink and that time has started.

  • @jadhavkapil don't compare with america. We are not there yet. I'm all for the optimism but we all indians should remember to work hard to reach that level. There are many good things to learn from america. ofcourse you should leave anything bad with america alone. Indirectly america is part of our success. I'm in IT and i strongly believe that most people in IT would agree with me.

  • @just4meonly: I am not comparing with America, but we are not surely dependent on america. Indirectly if america is going to be part of our success then so India is just now a part of american progress. America looks at Indians just now as just cheap labour and big market but the generation coming up is damn intelligent. If you are in IT you should know how Indians are making a difference with their hardwork, not just in America but in many countries. They sold Missiles we sell Brain

  • @jadhavkapil its not about who is dependent on whom. If we have an opportunity we grab it. It goes either way. All I'm trying to say is India has long way to go. I'm not denying the fact that we have brains but just cautioning that they do have brains. When we have thousands of problems to fix like abject poverty, illiteracy, unemployment how much smart it is compare against a country which already solved most of these problems better than us.

  • Look at Mr.Nandan saying India will be the youngest country which means Man is the intelligent animal and we will have the most no of these Intelligence. America is not the only country in the world if Americans are thinking that due to them India is getting bigger, its growing on its own.

  • Much of the tech places are taken in hands by India and one day whole world will be dependent on India for intelligence but dont worry India does not believe in negative things like Invasion and robbing other nations in wars. We are intelligent and most of all humans so we will take the whole world and mankind with us.

  • @whatever3009 if america is an elephant then why did it suffer from such huge economic depression but India withstood it..i think u r mistaken u wanted to say that america is a Goat ,rite? I agree friend that there are slums in India, but wait and watch..for another one decade...that time lets talk.

  • @surajitdas01 : Please do not look America as the competition, it is better to look them as opportunity. This recession in america, they a similar or lesser likely in the early years. They overcame very well by innovation and invention.

It is better to partner with them than speaking in contradiction to them. We need to go a long way yaar!

  • @narenreddy7 well said. Whoever is comparing with USA are thinking that superpower means they always bad. May be they may have higher goals but they do have some noble intentions. Bill gates who made fortutnes in USA is giving back some of his money in charities to contries like india. If usa is about selfish people so many indians would never wud have migrated. But remeber we have to clean our own shit n we shud never expect someone else to clean it. now stop comparing n start making Indiapride

  • I agree with you on that....corruption .....as every country has it 's own kind of democracy ...America thinks it's one of the oldest democracies and it is right on every thing....they obviously have a tradition of setting standards ....may be because they have done all the innovations in past....but today....

  • @whatever3009 - Asshole I live in america- I am american indian. How the fuck you stated that only delhi/mumbai is booming, shit eater come to indore or hyd it will take the shit out of you jerk. Being from small town of pakistan, who had not seen train even so far, think the same about india- as they are not even 1 percent of indians locallly and globlally. Mr.Moron, come to sub-towns of america, you can druggist and beggers living fucked up life like your smelly poo. Porkistan sucks globally.

  • @haryiips07 First of all what makes you think I am from Pakistan. Second there is no point in arguing with someone like you who will call me names.

  • Abusing Pakistanis while listening to Attaullah Khan????

Finally someone came out in the open and proved the ABCD theory.

  • yes...but one cant justify slow growth etc nor can become laid back about our growth..., technology much superior when we got independence as opposed to USA...., and look at Germany , Japan ,South Korea... although each is unique in its growth after WW2.

My point is we certainly can just attribute USA's present position just on the fact that it has been independent for a longer period than we have been!

  • sir its 1947.. and its true india has got one of the best brains.. germans, japanese and russians are good too.. but chinese are like copying machine

  • cut copy paste doesn't take time. as far as russians were fine to show thier paper

  • White people in some corner are not ready to accept the truth. USA believes that they are superpowers and IT is in their hands even clearly acquainted with the fact 32 percent of Silicon valley is owned by indians. 44 percent of top notch employees in IT gaints are indians. Indian are having highest growth in world , highest english speaker and highest number of young people in the world. The only young country in ageing world. Look at demographic of India and America. Come and battle on facts.

  • @haryiips07 and most of those Indians working in Silicon valley are either American citizens now or at least permanent resident or at the very least trying to be one and that technically makes them American. The fact is its Indians living in America so obviously praising Indians and India are two separate things.

  • Inspiring!

  • india needs this type of thinker so that india can grow exponentially , but for that we all hav 2 come 4ward & joins hand 2gather............arvind kumar popat

  • @arvpopat ... "we all hav 2 come 4ward & join hands" ... trust me that will never happen.. I can give it in writing that it will never happen .. you can keep on dreaming.

  • Go India!

    Thanks

  • Liberal capitalism attracts fascism, gives you the illusion of democracy, It doesn't work at all. Promotes financial globalization, corporation monopoly, high level of corruption, greed, individualism, poverty...etc.

Don't be addicted to stupidity, just THINK CLEARLY AND WISELY

  • @ resourcebasedeconomy : yep. Agreed.

  • wow

  • Here is another reason why india's development matters to the world ...Today we as a people itself face many questions based on life, how can we improve life, how can we extend life, how can we save life, how can we explore, both life and this universe.... and there are many other factors that we as people share...

  • Well Done Mr Nandan !

  • Mr Nandan has written a book recently anyone read it ?

  • I am reading it. It is real good one. Nandan has put different perspectives on every topic very well and for indians, gives much more to think and imagine

  • If you guys love new ideas wiht logical concepts, see:

    The Venus Project. com

Neoliberalism is a catalyst to technological unemployment

  • anarko

Ur wrong, we already have all the technology to make it possible.U must read all about it in order to do coherent corelations. Monetary economic is a complete joke and it will collapse by technologic unemployment. Human's behaviour is induced by society and personality is shaped by experiencing the environment, if we change the environment applying good balanced values in education we can design a better society. Wrong again, we are indeed system puppets as well as social ingeneers.

  • What do ya mean by that punk?

  • 3:30 the background scared the shit out of me...

  • why...? are you stoned out of your mind?

  • You can thank outsourcing for that.

  • Many people seems to have disliked the phrase Human Capital. Well for a business man, who read many books written by westerners, management gurus that's an appropriate term. If you think that's slavery, stop going to office from tomorrow. YOU CAN PROUDLY SAY, YOU ARE NOT A SLAVE !!!

  • I dont like when people are referred to as capital.

  • In accounting, EVERYTHING falls into one of two categories: assets (capital), or liabilities (expenses).

The business mindset HATES expenses. It considers all such money wasted, lost forever. It gives bonuses to managers who spend less in that category.

Capital and assets are the place where business accountants WANT to put money. They call it investment, and wealth. We may not like having humans in this category, but it's better than being in the column they want to cut down to zero.

  • "Human capital" doesn't mean people are capital. In economics, "capital" means assets that allow labour to produce goods and services. Physical capital includes machines, factories, buildings and so on. Human capital includes skills, knowledge and so on. If you are a writer, buying a computer is acquiring physical capital, and reading a book on how to write is acquiring human capital. It is called "human capital" because it is capital that exists /within/ humans.

  • For example: eGovernance for India??? And destrying local micro-marketstructure to create a big market to market on different scale Yeah, that's greart. That frees human capital which then can be trained for new jobs

  • This man surely is talking in favour of interests that are not those of Indians. Either he is trying to show how brainwashed he is, meaning he wants to flatter a Western audience, or he is trying to promote a global economic worlfview for the INdian elites. NEvertheless he oversimplyfies and the way he presents things uncritically is not appealing to me.

  • When he said 'we' he meant the Indian mindset... He probably means that Indian policy makers thought of a high population as a liability which needs to be taken care of.... but now, as he pointed out, since India now has (and will have for a few decades) a young population in an aging world, if they are properly trained and given opportunities, they aren't a liability anymore and can tremendously contribute to technological and economic growth.

  • As for 'human capital', when you work on a job and get paid for it, you are basically selling yourself and your skills to your employer. What does that have to do with colonization? People all over the world sell themselves.

  • $250 - $300/indian. depends on the what kind of american slave trader you're dealing with.

  • You're right, and now i just realized TED is just another propaganda for imperialism

  • Explain yourself please :)

  • ShakespeareAvenue, do you really want to see people lined up and shot, merely because their ideas disagree with yours?

It is clear that you are angry. If showing us your anger is all you wanted, then you can consider your mission accomplished.

However, if you wanted to persuade anyone to share your point of view, it seems unlikely. Expressing the desire to see your opponents executed by an angry mob is not very persuasive.

I wish you better luck in your future endeavors.

  • "still slavery. Its sad that people are being treated as commodity. "

some people thumbed this comment down. Why? Do you really want to be treated as commodity? Makes me more sad.

  • what the hell does that even mean?

what is a commodity and what is wrong with a commodity?

  • commodity means an item that is traded or is involved in business (pretty much any product you see for sale is a commodity). Same thing goes with labor. People sell themselves for money (whether it be their skills, abilities or in some cases, their bodies) for money. Nothing wrong with commodity until people are treated the same way (which is unethical) .

  • the term human capital makes perfect sense. A nation can have everything, but if its citizens don't have knowledge to use the resources, that country will be the poorest. WE live in knowledge economy, and human capital is one of the country's biggest asset. That is y americans give good salaries to indians.... as indians immigrate, America strengthens their human capital.

Simple funda of immigration....acquire human capital from knowledge based countries.

  • With a billion people you need them to have jobs, when it comes to unemployment rates the effects can be much higher, 3% of a billion is a lot higher than 3% of 300 million (USA). Who ever said anything about slavery?

  • Yes, it is certainly a hellish future that he is wishing upon his people. Education. Health care. Roads. Electricity. Pensions. How dare he!

  • Nihawmah, Shove a spy tandoori in your assss..

  • fucking chinese slit eye fuck. do u even take showers?

  • do you guys take shower man, you should be asked, garlic

  • the above comment was meant for nihawmah only.

  • here we go, you start it,

  • Of course they embrace globalization. They are getting all the jobs! LOL!

  • Beautiful, enlightening...

    Go India! :)

  • 04:40 "Today we are in a country [India] which sells 8 million mobile phones a month, of which 90% of those mobile phones are prepaid ... and 40% ... recharge at less than 20 cents at each recharge." Contemplate the ramifications of the reality of India's growth in technology.

  • I have heard amazing accounts of how farmers are using mobile phones to improvise communication networks for finding buyers of their products. This seems quite a lot more efficient to me than trekking to market and hunting for the person who has what you want or wants what you have. Not to mention that they are able to contact many people and thus get a better price for their goods. Long live technology!

  • Whether people are a burden or human capital depends on how well educated and ready to work in a modern world they are. Like he says "you have to invest in human capital" and America might be failing in that regard.
