  • Tom House is the same bozo who said mark Prior had perfect mechanics.

  • @billyballs68 How the fuck is House a bozo? Nolan Ryan worked with him for years. You may as well call Ryan a bozo.

  • He used to warm up before a game he pitched in by throwing a football for a half-hour or so. So when he grabbed a baseball, it felt and weighed about as much as a pea! Kind of like a batter swinging a weighted bat before an at-bat.

  • nolan didnt have the greatest mechanics it was just his stuff was nasty and he worked out way harder and did more effective stuff than anyone else in his time did. im not saying he wasnt great he was unreal its just he didnt have the greatest mechanics

  • Ryan did steroids like Clemmens, Schilling and a few other pitchers who SUDDENLY put on 20 pounds of muscle and throwing no hitters again over 40 when the guy was fading in the late 80's. But No! It's just Barry Bonds and Mark Macquire.....yeah right. please

  • @aitraining Ryan didn't do roids. If he did people would be talking about him like they do Clemens.

  • @jason60152 but noone talks about Clemens

  • @RisingSon011 So Clemens never did roids.I KNEW IT!!!

  • @jason60152 oh he did . Thats why noone talks about him . He is irrelevant

  • @RisingSon011 They never found Clemens guilty of roids.

  • Great pitcher...but he was a roider in the 90's

  • im so glad he run tx ranger they do well thakn to himin the past they were hitting good but pitch was not now both are good i like american sport to unpredictable with ur salary cap and draft syysytem in eu soccer we dont have that so the rich team always win the medium team and lame team lose and go bankrupt u can see who win after watching game five minute ill switch from soccer to usa sport i like playoff

  • How often do you get to see two great pitchers in the same video?? Thanks!

  • Isn't that Tom House coaching him?

  • the man is a beast and legend

  • Someone told me a story that after he retired he pitched to a bunch of rookies and struck em all out. He was having fun too. Showed no signs of age

  • People who say nolan ryan cant hit the strike zone, can explain to me why he has 5714 strikesouts and is the leader in them?

  • Whenever you can get pointers from the King of Strikeouts, you take them.

  • is that randy johnson

  • Two Words: Purple Pants

  • LOOK UP PERRINE BASEBALL ADRIEN#24

  • his dad made him practice pitching 2 hours a day, throwing a ball threw a tire.

  • I took lessons from Tom House myself. I also went to his NPA coaches certification which I would recommend to anyone; Great stuff!

  • @PitchingAcademy I got one of those radar guns and measured how fast my sperm flew outta my piss pump. It was 67 mph! Not bad but my cock got a ticket for jerking in a handicap zone.

  • @RandomSpewBros

were you jerking your tiny one to Nolan Ryan?

  • @MuslimLoveJewishCock i think everyone was

  • hes my cousin

  • hes my cousin

  • this video is fucking sick. the all time strike out king teaching the second all time strike out king. two of some the greatest pitchers to ever play the game

  • Yeah Nolan Ryan is a standard of greatness in MLB. His last no-hitter was at age 44. Despite his record of 7 no hitters.......he never pitched a perfect game, or received the Cy Young award.

  • FAKE ASS SHIT. NOLAN RYAN WAS LEFT-HANDED

  • @rpmpwnedu ...wat? no he was not

  • @rpmpwnedu Nolan Ryan was left handed? Where did you get that. I have been a baseball fan for over 40 years and I have watched the Angels and the Dodgers, being from Orange County, Ca, and trust me, this is Nolan Ryan and he was, is, always has been righthanded! I saw one of his no hitters live, in, if I remember correctly without looking it up, 1974 verses the Minnesota Twins. I sat there with my father on the third base side of Angel Stadium, between third base and the foul poll.

  • @kentaappel u just gave me ur entire life story in a comment. wtf.

  • @kentaappel Dude he was throwing righty in the vid!

  • one dirty-ass mullet

  • GREAT PITCHER.... EVEN BETTER FIGHTER

  • Nolan Ryan is a beast

  • @MrRayRay922 Yeah, one of mlb's true work horses.

  • Every young pitcher needs to watch this....

  • one dirty-ass mullet

  • @fbravis

    Haha!

  • wtf is he wearing...

  • i always liked his leg kick. such a great delivery

  • quick arm + long lanky arm = upper 90's

  • @dmtdmt1969 let me clarify, i said in the major league (mlb). im pretty sure little league and high school arent the same thing as the mlb

  • HAHA hes gotta be thinkin "still got it!"

  • Nolan Ryan saved Randy Johnson's career, before Johnson worked with Ryan he couldn't throw a strike

  • @fretode Other way around dude!

  • @beastfromdowneast No, Ryan saved Johnson's career. Why do you think Randy had more wins in his 20s then his 40s? He couldn't throw a strike until Ryan showed him how to pitch. You can look it up online, Randy had a mechanical flaw that Ryan was able to fix.

  • @beastfromdowneast And that was supposed to say more wins in his 40s than his 20s

  • @fretode on your comment u put "Johnson worked with Ryan he couldn't throw a strike" just got confused

  • @fretode yeah, well, Nolan Ryan's career was saved, when someone(honestly can't remember who, I just remember Tom House mentioning it at a seminar of his) told him to keep his eyes straight. In other words, keep his head still, the most common mistake of pitchers, of all ages, including many major leaguers, especially those with control problems.

  • @noahmcdx That would be former Angels pitching coach Tom Morgan

  • @douggoud it might of even been tom house.

  • @noahmcdx no, you can check who the angels pitching coach was in 1972, when ryan was traded to the angels (i only know this because i was reading the angles essential book today, lol, but then, i know a crap load about the angels, well, more than the average fan, or intermediate one)

  • @fretode nolan ryan could barely hit the strike zone himself

  • @fretode You sound as though Nolan Ryan was a good strike thrower...Dude walked a LOT of batters. his BB/9 ratio sucks and his K/BB ratio isn't anything great either...He's a hall of fame pitcher who was a strikeout master, but don't act like he's this strike thrower who taught Randy Johnson how to throw strikes. lol

  • @xRyanP421x Ryan was by no means a great strike thrower and I never said that he was, but that doesn't change the fact that he worked with Johnson for an entire offseason and helped him become the dominant pitcher he would become by improving his mechanics and therefore his control

  • i bet nolan could come back in 2011 and still put up good numbers

  • What was this from?

  • Lol my name is Nolan, I was named after him =)

  • Dammn, this is wicked. Even the Big Unit has to stand back and in awe of the Nolan Ryan Express.

  • You better throw hard if you wear those pants

  • @dmtdmt1969 id like to see you try and do that

  • @dmtdmt1969 you need to get laid ,virgin libtard

  • @nparga23 I need to get laid?I fucked your mom last night asshole,

  • @dmtdmt1969 = VIRGIN LOSER

  • @dmtdmt1969 ....now that's something a 14 yr old might say...but it says you're 41?? Time to grow up and be a man and move out of your mother's basement....on second thought you might want to stay there....you'd get your ass kicked daily on the street.

  • @dmtdmt1969 That comment was ignorant.

  • @dmtdmt1969 Dude you're a fucking retard!!! Why is he a POS just because he is so much better then you? HHAHAHAH fucking loser

  • @dmtdmt1969 Seriously, you are one stupid trailer trash piece of shit. Nolan Ryan pitched for teams who couldn't score. He lead the league with a 2.76 ERA one year when he went 8-16. Go back to your vomit filled couch and watch some little league game and jerk off Chester the Molestor. Nobody gives a fuck to read your dumbshit ignorant comments. You have the IQ of a retard.

  • @dmtdmt1969 You are obviously a Yankees bandwagon fan who appreciates a team who buys its championships. But seriously, you just made yourself look like the biggest moron on youtube, though I would bet you crave the attention.

  • @doug77082 The yankees don't think so.If you are smart enough to understand baseball stats you will see that in one of his no hitters he walked 8 batters not a great pitching performance.I stand by my comment. P.S. i WILL TAKE AN I.Q. test against you and spot you 30 points.

  • @dmtdmt1969 I know more about baseball stats than you'll ever learn little boy. Obviously you know NOTHING about statistics. Making a case for an entire career based upon ONE GAME where he had 8 walks in a no-hitter is retarded. I guarantee you that spooting me 30 points in an IQ test will embarrass you. My IQ has been tested at 151 and I HIGHLY DOUBT you come close to that, much less a 181. But let's start now dumbshit. No need for an IQ test.

  • @dmtdmt1969 Your pathetic grammar already indicates your lack of intelligence. Let's start you out with some simple math. 1. What is the integral of x squared from 0 to 4? 2. What is the meaning of this data from the response to this question. 3. When we say "from 0 to 4", what does THAT mean?

I just gave you a very simple math question. We'll see how you start and then we'll see how high your IQ truly is. We'll see if you want to sport me 30 points, haha. You picked the wrong person.

  • @doug77082 i think the answer you are looking for is, over 9000.

  • @dmtdmt1969 how many no hitters have you thrown, while pitching in the mlb?

  • @zachjohnston19 I threw 2 in little league and 1 in high school.

  • @dmtdmt1969 No offense, but it is not hard to throw a no hitter in Little League, I have thrown 2 in little league and 1 in competetive baseball and I am only 13. I am not trying to say I am amazing because I am not. I am just saying that The little League ones shouldn't count. :D. But I give you props for throwing a no hitter in High School.

  • @dmtdmt1969 Not quite sure what was going through your mind when you posted that comment. Maybe (definitely) you are an ignorant fool. In regard to pissing people off, you have succeeded. In regard to everything else in your foolish little life, you have failed miserably. Go throw eight no hitters and I will flag my own statement as inappropriate. Thank You.

  • @VoiceofReason06 you got trolled real good by that guy. you took that bait right up. you are the idiot for not identifying an obvious troll.

  • @rambo7276 Ok, like I give a fuck. This is about showing respect for an accomplishment which will never be matched. But thanks for telling me something I already knew.

  • @VoiceofReason06 why so serious? now you getting all riled up over me. calm down son, i didn't know the interwebz such a huge deal to you.

  • @rambo7276 Yea really riled up alright. I just want to thank you for needlessly messaging me about something so stupid, just so could put your opinions all over the "interwebz." Have fun with that.

  • @VoiceofReason06 o u mad.

  • @dmtdmt1969 Nolan Ryan's career win-loss record is 324 wins- 292 losses. So no. He didn't lose more than he won.

  • @dmtdmt1969 for saying that ur a stupid mother fucking piece of shit, have some respect for people u fucking ignorant piece of shit. i bet he would've struck ur cocky little ass right the fuck out.

  • @tinkerballs123 UR UR UR UR piece of shit

  • @dmtdmt1969 good one pussy what are you five bitch

  • @dmtdmt1969 Do you understand ignorance? i highly doubt it since you are spewing it everywhere in this comment.

  • @dmtdmt1969 are you callin all texans igronant dumbasses cause they dont listen to pot heads like you?

  • @dmtdmt1969 Lmao. You are stupid. He won more than he loss. Dumbass hater.

  • @dmtdmt1969 i applaud your wisdom

  • @dmtdmt1969 he won more than lost you dumb-shit.

  • @dmtdmt1969 ok go out there and pitch a no hitter W/O WALKING ANYBODY or tell me how many pitchers have pitched what was it 7 no hitters? Who can throw 104 I think was his fastest. Im a yankees fan but I live in Texas and I like the Rangers somewhat. You just can talk shit about someone you will NEVER be better than. Take all the steroids you want. Pop 56 steroids pills. You won't match up to someone who never used steroids. Your just an ignorant piece of shit who cant get laid get a life bitch.

  • @dmtdmt1969 ok go out there and pitch a no hitter W/O WALKING ANYBODY or tell me how many pitchers have pitched what was it 7 no hitters? Who can throw 104 I think was his fastest. • @lolomgwtfism The yankees suck worse than Ryan.

  • i was named after nolan ryan and ive seen several of the clips with nolan ryan vs robin ventura!! ha the only person to get 7 hits off of nolan ryan

  • @NolanTheBearCat Ryan would have a lot more wins if he didmt play for such crap teams in his days.

  • inFamous Anto,

    What is your IQ?

Your filthy language is that of an illiterate self centered, rude inconsiderate boob., Nolan is a perfect example for young prospective pitchers and those many pitching hopefuls who have been throwing the wrong way from day one of their pitching tenure to learn from, whether they be major, minor leageurs, college, high school and/or youth age.

I have an excellent, just beautiful video clip of him pitching from the stretch position.

    kom_ervin@yahoo.com

  • He's a great player, but also a great President for the Rangers. I mean look what he did for the Rangers the past two years and with little money they had. They went from bad 3 years ago to now division leaders.

  • The more important thing to note about this clip is that Tom House(also a former MLB pitcher) has been involved with both Johnson's and Ryan's careers. When Tom speaks, smart people listen.

  • @JAMESMOOREBASEBALL yea but house also taught prior his so called perfect mechanics......

  • nolan ryan was / is / forever will be my favorite pitcher - the ryan express !

he was on horrible california teams in the 70's

he is a HOF'er - end of story

i remember watching robin ventura run at him and the first thing i thought was oh my god he is going to hit nolan

then robin ventura's dignity was taken from him .....................never to return

most headshots in 5 seconds ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wtf thats not even fair nolan ryan teaches randy johnson

  • 2 of the greatest pitchers to ever play the game.

  • Over 10,000 strikeouts between the two of them: standing on one mound.

  • They're both old farts now. haha

  • the 2 best pitchers of al time nolan and randy

  • ryan had a big curve ball, but his fastball was never clocked over 90 mph. in his last yrs he went to the nukkleball; thats why he pitched in his 30s.

  • @uselessjoe

You must be retarded...How old are you? Maybe you are thinking of Phil Niekro? Nolan Ryan wa clocked over 102 mph...Cosistently in the 97-98mph range

  • @uselessjoe

What the fuck? I think your thinking of Phil Niekro

  • @TheHuntaz No, phil niekro and his brother joe pitched too. but nolan ryan was kinda like an average guy on bad teams. he coulda won 200 games if he woulda been on a team like the Reds or something.

  • @uselessjoe who wrote: "nolan ryan was kinda like an average guy on bad teams. he coulda won 200 games if he woulda been on a team like the Reds or something."

You mean as opposed to the 324 games he actually did win? So you're saying he would have won 124 *fewer* games if he had been on better teams... Dude, you really are "useless"... :-P

  • Nolan had a great delivery; excellent mechanics is what allowed him to perform at such a level for so long.

  • i like the purple sweats

  • they dont make players like dat any more

  • thats at alvin high school

  • this was the day randy was tought that it is all mechanics to make you throw hard and he was tought from the best nolan ryan

  • Firm, Foot, Fire!!!

  • such a clean delivery

  • That Randy guy looks like he plays basketball; what? did he win a drawing to get a lesson. He's obviously not a pitcher as tall as he is; plus he ain't even paying attention; like, hay, I'm outta hear.

  • @uselessjoe ur a dumbass that " basketball player" is Randy Johnson one of the greatest pitchers ever he is in the top three pitchers ever behind roger clemens and nolan ryan in strikeouts so i dont know how he is there bu tobviously he doesnt need to be and if you dont believe me go to google and look up randy johnson and see what comes up

  • @RolexMan1997 YOU SURELY MUST BE REFERRING TO WALTER JOHNSON; AKA THE BIG TRAIN; WHO, BY THE WAY WAS WAY DEAD BEFORE NOLAN RYAN EVER THRU A BALL FOR THE METS. ain't no pitcher as tall as that guy; he played basketball i just bet.

  • @uselessjoe you dumbass motha fucker LOOK UP THE SON of a BITCH and he is 6'10 aka THE BIG UNIT

  • @RolexMan1997 hay man; u rap lover, "The Big Unit" was an album released in 2003 by Slim Thug and Lil Keke. so now I know u like that kinda musik; no wonders u being not knowing who Nolan Ryan is; Sandy Koufax had more no hitters than Ryan.

  • Comment removed

  • @uselessjoe go to google, and look up Randy johnson

  • @uselessjoe Uh, no, idiot; Koufax had 4, Ryan had 7, Last time I checked, 7 was higher than 4.

  • @RolexMan1997 You got a lot of hate. Randy Johnson retired. Nolan Ryan has cattle farms. And I pitch for the LA Dodgers. Well, 2 outta 3 ain't bad. Ok, back to playing "Battleship."

  • @uselessjoe haha yeah dude 2 of best pitchers right there

  • Nolan Ryan deserves his own hall of fame.

  • how bout tom house with the awesome stache?

  • what a joke he is

  • nolan ryan, u are my fuckin idol u are awesome

  • hes landin across his body

  • @quadfan96 dude you're really gonna criticize one of the best pitchers to ever play the game? like seriously?

  • @kace842 duh in this pic hes retired so thts wat he does because he dosent have it after he has been retired for a while

  • @quadfan96 dude what're you talking about? I LOVE Nolan Ryan. He is my idol.

  • @quadfan96 You're supposed to finish across your body. You're thinking of when coaches say, "don't throw across your body." That means when your delivery comes before you open your hips and chest to the target and throw "across" a body that's still sideways. Once you open up and throw, you're supposed to bring your hand across toward your opposite hip. What MLB pitcher *doesn't* do that?

  • @ThePapayaKing i meant landing across not hrowing across

  • this is before he retired around 1990

  • It doesn't look like he is really throwing hard in this video.

  • thats probably cuz hes around 50 in this video. hes just showin off his mechanics, not his speed. in his problem he could throw probably around twice this speed, cuz that looks like its around 50mph (just a rough estimate though)

  • @rhp92k – Uh, no. He's throwing somewhere in the mid-80's here. If he were throwing 50, it would take just under a second for the ball to get from his hand to the mitt. This is taking about a half second.

  • now this wuz the day that changed randys career

  • ppl talking like this is some recent stuff. this looks like randy pickn some tips up at the young ages.. as u can tell randy has the same durable delivery that is lettn him still pitch in the 40s

  • is that Nolan Ryan AND FUCKING Randy Johnson IN THE SAME FUCKING PLACE???

OH GOOOOOOODDDDDD I WOULD SHIT MYSELF IF I EVER SAW THOSE 2 GUYS WALKING DOWN THE STREET

  • This is something. I was amazed myself.

  • @inFamousAnto my uncle is friends with nolan ryan no joke

  • @Digiz12 dude can u pleazzzzzzzzzzzzz get me an autograph of nolan ryan

  • @plaez11 probablly ill keep u posted cause im giving away a few autographs for people

  • @Digiz12 can u get me an autograph of nolan ryan

  • @Digiz12 can u get me an autograph

  • @inFamousAnto supposedly Ryan taught Randy how to control his pitching power, especially his heater, when Randy was still coming up in the majors. Its kind of funny cus Ryan is the all-time BB leader, but still understandable. It ain't easy controlling a ball going 100mph no? I love the Ryan Express - still got the newspaper clipping when he retired

  • @inFamousAnto lmao

  • @inFamousAnto I met Nolan Ryan and had a baseball and bat signed by him.

  • nice pants

  • You wanna teach a kid to pitch? Show him or her this video.

  • I do not know so much about baseball, soccer is the big sport in Germany, but if Mr. Ryan was the greatest then why do they not replace " The Cy Young Award" with " The Nolan Ryan Award"? Perhaps a certain amount of time has to pass before this will happen?

  • ryan wasnt the greatest pitcher, but he very well could have the livliest arm of any person to walk the face of the earth..

if he roided like dibble or zuymaya or that lot, he could have thrown 107-108

  • zumaya didn't roid. if he roided he wouldn't be getting injured so much. zumaya is just a moron and doesn't realize his arm action is hurting himself.

  • i agree. he was a legend, and was amazing, but he almost lost as many games as he won. still an incredible pitcher, perfect form.

  • he lost so many games because he played for some bad teams like the angels and especially the rangers...no run support

  • Tough to win a game when the bats produce one run!

  • i love nolan ryan too but u make yourself look like an idiot when you throw figures like 107-108 around its not humanly possible with or without steroids and the most that would have happened is he would of had more endurance and less recovery time

  • fuck you

  • real mature im just saying ur making up numbers and a little kid sees that and believes it back up your facts smart alic

  • actualy bob feller clocked at over 110

  • not legitametly it was a faulty gun check your facts again he actually never hit the big 100

  • no cause he was clocked at 98.6 AT THE PLATE. today on a gun that would translate to over 110

  • there were no radar guns then( in Fellers day ) , it was impossible to accurately say how hard he was throwing

  • they used an artillery shell speed calculator which takes measures how long it takes for the ball to travel a bout a foot and they put it infront of the catcher and it was 98.6 mph which nowadays is around 105 - 115

  • walter johnson would be clocked at 115 if they had radar guns back then
