  • Thanks for posting these up, I sure liked them and still do!

  • I wouldn't mind rolling around in the popcorn with Santini. Bring ... it ... on!

  • It's just amazing how much individual talent they had and they combined it really well. They were the best! I watched them when I was a kid in the 70's. They were on once a week so you watched the show! You couldn't tape it and watch it later.

Well, you could if you had one of those brand new Beta Max machines! Sha Na Na still rocks! Th.. th.. that's all folks!

  • i'd really like to read a book-length bio on sha na na, or memoirs by one of the former members. has anything like that been published?

  • @wallofvideo Well, all I know is Jon "Bowzer" Bauman's got a website and it has a bio and old pictures of him on it. =) Bowzerparty (.) com

  • @Atomsk3 hey, thanks!

  • I remember when I was young watching Sha-na-na every week on a Variety Show. Did the Variety Show have a name or was it the Sha-na-na Variety Show? If anyone knows please help, it's driving me crazy that I can't remember and no one else I know, knows either.

  • These guys had some real talent. Listen to some of there songs and enjoy great vocal.

  • Pretty cool video....fun to watch. I like how they performed the song in the same style as the Great Drifters. Very respectful, thumbs up to Sha Na Na!!!!!

  • These guys always had fun doing this show.I watched it quite a bit while it was on,and now can't get enough of replaying a lot of the songs.Great cover singing and great satirical acting in each situation.ShaNaNa forever, and as Bowser always said,"Grease for Peace".

  • @rich1050 It's been a treasure trove finding these clips on Youtube. They were great in the day and still a pleasure to watch now. Some might think it cornball but I will take it over the junk you see today any time. They were the best cover band in musical history, doing songs better than the originals. That to me, says it all. Grease for Peace is a slogan that is all theirs.

  • these guy's where born in the wrong era!!

  • Scott did this better than the original. Fantastic. He also did Elvis with aplomb.

  • and now i will cut my hand(grunt)and now i will cut your your hand till the blood flows-----im not afraid wigwam breath-----(cuts his hand) and now we will mix our blood, now your blood is my blood, and my blood is your blood, and we are brothers, your mother is my mother, my father is your father. and my sister is your sister, you know what that means? -----noooo....----- it means keep your hands off YOUR sister, yankee trash

  • my guinea pig tried to delete this video

  • I want to see a video of the end, where the band jumps into the crowd...

  • @TEMPmichaelhansen you have to find the song "Good Night Sweetheart",its in there

  • When will these Shanana clips be available on a DVD???? They are absolutely BRILLIANT and Bowzer is my favourite!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • keep your hands off your sister yankee trash

all the videos make me smile and the skits make me laugh! brightens up my day

  • see also Sha Na Na BBB

guest stars on "The Fall Guy" with Lee Majors

    and Sha Na Law

  • I love the Shanana videos you've posted! I would like DVD's but then I would miss out on all of the frank and useful discourse I have read on You Tube, whatever shall I do?

  • is it just me or does Danny play a sexy Native american?

  • @savcdosavcdo

Danny plays everything sexy!! His Native name shoud be Hot Strings.

  • just stumbled on this vid, who are sha na na?

  • They were an early 70's rock group, played at "THE REAL Woodstock".They got this gig and fell out of sight.Their music still gets played on some oldies radio stations.Enjoy,a drug free group in their era.

  • They were one of the most popular live acts of the 70s.After Woodstock they toured europe, japan and of course the states .Janis Joplin,Hendrix,Lennon Harrison and Alice Coooper all attended Sha Na Na concerts. They broke the Stones attendence record at every venue they played in during their uk tour of 1971.

Saw them perform 5 times between 1971 and 1976.Keith Moon was thier emcee on a couple of occasions.Truly one of the great live acts. They definatley didnt fall out of sight.

  • They also were in the movie GREASE.

  • I would've liked being in the back row with Dan!

  • Now, being able to be entertaining, fun, and funny...all along while you are singing or playing is a great talent that most people tend to oversee.

Who said people in plain white t-shirt and a pair of jeans is better musically than people who can be gorgeous, sexy, funny, and everything else that is not "simple"?

  • I don`t know why but I love this video!!!

  • Me too :).

  • i had such a crush on Santini when I was a little girl. I thought he was the sexiest.

  • There is no such thing as a "British" accent! There are English accents, Welsh accents, and Scottish accents, and each of these have various dialects.

The American cariacature of the so called "British" accent is just that!

  • Calm down, celtusguy. I've heard many American accents butchered by British actors and comedians over the years. And don't get me started when you Brits try to do a New York or a Southern accent. It's usually insulting.

  • @tomthefunky

if you get INSULTED by people getting your accent wrong then i would worry. It may lead you and your kind to think about going and losing another war some where or over eating or displaying more plastic emotion. You should be honoured to speak ENGLISH even if you spell it wrongly, ie tonite should be TONIGHT etc. Gee mayaan i hope i haven't insulted you because i love you mayaan cry cry sniffle sob. Don't go and invade China .... oh ... you wouldn't would you ... too hard!!!!!!!!

  • benlooe: your post is retarded and I assumed you were an adolescent when I read it but,no, you're fifty-one! Now I'm going to trash your country and I will do it with much more wit: The English are a bunch of cold- blooded queers with nasty complexions and terrible teeth who once conquered half the world but never figured out central heating. You live in a shabby, antiquated, bankrupt little back alley of a country and the average American can buy and sell the average Brit. You work for us.

  • Well done your description is perfect. You Americans are so clever. I will act on your comments immidiately. no1. I'll buy a vest to rid myself of cold bloodedness. no 2. I'll leave my wife because i'm queer. no 3. i'll buy a sun lamp. no 3. i'll godamm sue the arse off my dentist. no 4. i'll phone the plumber. no 5. i'll emigrate. no 6. i'll give away 90% of my wealth in order to become an average Brit. Oh no 7. i'll calculate how much tax i owe you as i apparently work for you. Welldone thanks

  • Oh, to be Johnny's bucket of popcorn! LOL

  • You be the bucket and I'll be the piece of popcorn. Yum!!

  • Santini did a great job on this! Johnny is, of course, the most adorable, AND the only one to throw the popcorn in the air and catch it in his mouth!

  • This guy is great, I guess he never got the attention, due to the lack of hair, what a shame. Bowser is one of the best base guys but I think he thought he was the group. Its a shame, they all were talented ! We need a Sha na na today bad !

  • funny

  • best Sha Na Na clip on Youtube

  • Doesn't eating popcorn make your mouth too dry to sing? I guess not.

  • Bowzer does a British accent pretty well! I'm freakin' surprised!

  • Johnny looks right out of the Sesame Street greaser skit "One Way"

  • I thought these songs we pre-recorded and they were lipsynching while taping the show--but I hear Santino laughing and singing when throwing the popcorn at the end.

  • I'm pretty sure I read that all the instruments and back ground vocals were pre-recorded, but that the lead singer sang live. Santini only pretends to eat the popcorn.

  • santini powelll is the shit

  • I love how when they turn around they hold the popcorn boxes in their mouths!!

  • amazing.

  • fuckin yes

  • I LOVE THIS ONE

  • what I wouldn't give to be in that fight ☺ Come on all you'se greasers. WRITE THEM LETTERS. Lets get these videos to all of our homes.

  • i wonder if capt outrageous sings to his patients to calm them down

  • santini is a fantastic singer

  • Fans have to write in to get this show on DVD/Blu-Ray..."C'Mon All 'Youse' Sha-Na-Na Fans, Keep On Writin' In Please??" "I'm Adding My Letter This Week For Sure!!"

  • awesome

  • the best song ever

  • Love how they are all cracking up during the food fight...

  • I agree. Where are the DVDS???

  • Unfortunately, I'm gonna guess them DVD's ain't ever gonna happen. Probably music licensing issues out the wazoo. :-/

  • OMG I LOVE this man. He can come and operate on me for sure. I agree BRING ME THE DVD's . This is a group that is TIMELESS

  • What was the show called?

  • Another Great Tune, Yet That Food-Fight Was The Very Best Part Of This Song!!

  • Santini Is HOT!!!!

  • love it

  • Thanks

  • man havnt seen this in ages lol sweet!

  • I want Bowzers jacket...

  • Who doesn't?

  • I want the damn DVDs. Bring 'em on please!!!!!!

  • @chrisdel157 I want Santini.

    Er, I want Santini's outfit ;)

  • @chrisdel157 I want Bowzer...

  • @chrisdel157 I want Bowzer....

  • @tsugarplumfairy1 i want johnny lol

  • Assuming you're thinking of Lamar, the lil fruitcase from "Revenge of the Nerds," yeah there's... somewhat of a resemblance.

  • Geez...why so angry? If you dislike this group, don't watch their videos. And, even if you thought Denny was gay (which he isn't - none of them are) the racial slur was uncalled for. Maybe try some anger management? Grease For Peace, my friend!

  • Is that "Dirty" Dan McBride in this group (vest w/ guitar on back)? I remember he was one of the later ones, but I'm not sure if I'm accurately remembering what he looked like.

  • Yes, that is Danny McBride. I'm not sure how many years he was with the group, but he left before their show ended its run.

  • an anyon tell me??? is the shorter guy with the guitatr on the back of his jacke named Danny?..he wa also playing the Indian in Blood brothers skit.

  • Yes that's Dirty Dan "McBride" - great memories

  • brings back the 1970's to me. great!!

  • Johnny is so damn cute in this one!

  • And every other one he's in!

  • you said it!

    Johnny is amazing!

  • I love the popcorn fight at the end.

  • i love it song

  • I take that back-upon further review, I think I saw Chico (God rest his soul) actually catch some popcorn in his mouth too.

  • OK, I thought he did, but he missed. It's still a shame he passed on so soon.

  • It's so funny how they try and toss the popcorn up in the air and catch it in their mouth. The only one I saw do it successfully was Johnny. One of many talents!

  • Grease for Peace!

  • They lip sung!

It kept going e'en though he was throwing and bending.

  • What you can't throw and bend and sing at the same time? I can even walk and chew gum at the same time......

  • I'm not sure about the back up vocals, but Scott (Santini) is singing live, because if you watch the end of the clip when they start throwning popcorn, his voice breaks a little and he sounds like he is starting to laugh. I am pretty sure they sang all their stuff on the show live.

  • OMG! I remember watching Sha Na Na on tv when I was a kid. My little brother used to do a Bowser impersonation and looked just like him! We'd laugh and laugh... I wish someone would put the rest of the shows on here, not just the songs, like the skits and stuff.

  • They actually brought episodes back on TV Land occasionally when the network first started. I donno why they decided to now show the same crap every other network does. I mean they show stupid Lawrence Welk on PBS every weekend, why can't we get Sha Na Na and others back that actually mean something? It's like a church in an old movie house. It makes no sense like some dog wearing a nun's habit taking a piss there.

  • The Neverending Story... LMAO

  • That was a great show. I can't believe that it's never come out on DVD. They'd make tons of money!!

  • I wish I could find a take of the end of a show when they sing "Goodnight sweetheart... It's time to go..." Sha na na - the show, the band - outstanding. Watching these clips brings back fond memories

  • How low can they go. Sad end to a wonderful band.

  • The band is still around. It jusy has a few of its' original members left.(Screamin' Scott,Donny & Jocko.)The others have gone on to do other things.

  • The ONLY show I have never seen in re-runs or can't buy on DVD, dammit it's a shame cos this is soooo entertaining.. I love Sha Na Na!!!!

  • The best way to spend a Saturday evening ... watching and listening to SHA NA NA. Fabulous song. Thanks for the video

    Emiliano (Spain)

  • I used to watch Sha na na. I miss that show.

  • This made me miss the show a lot! LOVED the ending!
