LOL!! ive seen most of the videos of this card playing crysis and the are all edited and speed up believe me this card cannot play this game on high i have tryed, to anyone planning to buy this card to play this card dont bother coz even the gts version can't do it.
@simms97 Its not, it's actually slower than the real gameplay in this vid, since fraps was used to record. Personally I do not care about this video anymore as I built a new PC with much better hardware.
LOL! U dead wrong dude!! i got a 8600 GTS over clock to 900 mhz core clock and 2200 mhz memery clock and it runs better that this with almost all setting on the highest i got 4 gig or ram!! LOL and get this its ddr 400 lol on a amd 4800+ socket (939)! i
why dont u try overclocking ur 8600!!! Im sure ur pc specs must be way better than mines i got my pc about 4 years now LOL!So upgrade to so im trying to squeeze every last bit of juice out of this LOL! !trust me u overclock that baby it runs like a charm! i had trouble playing Ghost busters before over clocking now ir run smooth!!
I currently got 3ghz dual + 512mb ram + 9400gt. The game takes so long to load, and i'm getting loads of those ram lags. It freezes then gets back to smooth again. So if i get an additional 1Gb 800mhz, would it run better?
this is a lie i have this card and i run it on middium/shaders and particals low at 1680x1050 and get 35-28 fps there is no way in hell this is possibe not even at 640x480 resolution
i play this with a 8400gs vram 512 all gamer setting have not try Enthusiast setting but will soon when i have time and ill put a video up so nonone thinks iam lying
This is bull, i have an 8600 gt and the best setting it can take is mainstream. putting it at Gamer settings you'll get hell of a lag every time you'll move. You need to tell me how the hell you got that card to play on Gamer settings.
Ok, first off, this card from XFX (8600 GT XXX Edition) came hugely overclocked, I onverclocked it even more (Core at 745MHZ Mem at 1000 MHZ), I have only 1 or 2 background programs running, and my computer is optimized (memory optimizations, disk defrag, Registry clean up, and registry defrag). And I give Crysis Warhead slightly higher CPU priority than my other tasks. Thanks for the comment BTW.
Sorry for the comment, I just couldn't find it possible to get the game to run on Gamer settings. But I see why your capable of getting your card to run at that setting. Thanks for clearing it out to me.
It's at 800, it's DDR memory, so it's Dual Data Rate, meaing you multiply the frequency of the memory by two in order to get the effective clock speed. The default mem speed is 800 Mhz
Well, when I'm not recording, the CPU handles the rendering and AI fine, around 24-30, the lowest during normal gameplay was 10 (On the Ice Levels). and 39 was the max, when I was fooling around with a ragdoll, running it over with a vehicle, LOL
no way man

I cannot run Crysis at high or very high. I have an 8600 GT XXX Edition and running it on high or very high causes the game to crash.

The game runs fine now on high. Very high turns into a slideshow. The only reason I can think of it crashing is DX10 or maybe even overheating.

I would overclock it. But I'd rather do it with an aftermarket cooler.

This game runs Perfect on 2 DDR2 RAM with 800Mhz or 667Mhz i have 4GB but with 2 Gb of ram its run perfect !!

Yeah that would help, but i think a better graphics card would boost the loading time/ in game fps even more

You would need more like2GB of memory. I played with 1GB and it was choppy as hell. 2GB and it was smooth as butter :)
