  • questions : did u build this on your own? how long did it take you, how long have you been using blender, how long did it take u to master blender at this level. and wow this is amazing can u just use the logic box even for the A.I

  • Is it this laggy all the time or was that just your screen capture?

  • bubble gun ftw!

  • it's over 9,000! (sensors & controls!)

  • Just one thing to say: You are freakin good !!!

  • How do you add sound to the game like when u get hit or when u fire a gun?

  • @rcespedes8 you can add it to the reactor list

  • looks almost like dead space 2 haha

  • bumpin' yo maps ftw.

  • nice graphics

  • I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but when I press P, and start the game, as I walk around the area around me appears in the direction I walk in, and when I look behind me it disappears. Is my map to big, or do I need some different settings? Please Help

  • dont you have the blend for this anymore great game though

  • @carlosandlexi could you make a ai tutorial or give me a link for a good ai tutorial?

  • @scratchpost you can download a texture makeing program just google texture maker :D

  • how do u make the texture maps?

  • Great video

    Truly amazing graphic work

I recommend a computer with a better processor to reduce the lag

  • poligion down

  • well nice job, why i looks so laggy?

  • *amazing

  • This is amading

  • Wooow , this Awesome , Graphic better than games from City interactiv :D

  • badass graphics on your game engine :)

  • but where the hell did you get that characters with UV Map!! :O

did u make it ur self??

  • wow nice textures

  • how long you worked on it?

i try myself in blender but im not so good... but this is amazing :O

  • How did you do the textures? Like all the shiney bits and reflections? They always show up in a render but not in the game.

  • @medvitz93 u need to enable glsl.

  • @carlosandlexi I did but still nothin

  • @medvitz93 does the material have a texture? are u in texture mode? is the texture set to ref in the texture input panel? is the mesh unwrapped?

  • @carlosandlexi just a simple question, you learn to yourself, with a site or school ? its because i try to learn but i can't find a way...

  • Are you sure you don't have a job in the professional gaming industry? This looks like a next-gen high graphics PS3 game - and it was made in 2008!!

  • I gotta say, this looks better then most of the other stuff I've seen people make.

  • hey... can ou download blender game files online? that would be so cool!

  • Hey, I have a question for you: how do you get all of the cool textures and lighting to show up? I have done a lot of neat stuff that looks awesome when rendered but like complete crap in the game engine.

    Thanks (your game is AWESOME)

oh, and could you send me the .blend file by any chance? :)

  • @thecooldude0597

i dont think i have that blend anymore. this was almost 2 years ago, but i do have some files in mediafire. I have the Gitmo and yoshi game on there. and alot of other cool stuff. mediafire. com/carlosandlexi

  • @thecooldude0597

i have the same problem sometimes, the bge doesn't render like standard blender animations or renders which sucks, but iv started learning python with panda 3d instead using blender for the media only, that could help too if you already know python in blender

  • awesome game.

  • Hey nice vid i am currently working on a movie with blender and am in the process of making my models i would like your feedback on what i got so far and again nice vid cant wait to see you make a full game

  • stupid! I have better games. How long use you blender? 5 minutes?

  • Comment removed

  • @yami1232 your a douche. you dont even have a single video up. here this is for you 80000000D ; P

  • @yami1232 FUUUUCKKK YOOUUUUUUUU BIIITTCCHHHH!

  • @yami1232 Grow up, wanker. This is clearly a work in progress. Let's see your ZOMGBBQ Blender skills - oh, yeah, you're just here to disrespect people who are actually doing something you know you can't do.

  • @yami1232 I hope for your sake that your not as big of a dick in real life.

  • in older versions of blender i can. i havent tried it in the newer ones though i have a file in my media fire account that has exe's in it. you could take that folder and save a runtime of you game, then put that file in it, and it will run as an exe. its basicly all the DLL files in the blender foundation folder. put /carlosandlexi after the .com in mediafire. can put links in youtube mesg.

  • amazing 3d modeler and game engine = superb .Can you export game to exe.??

  • nice the walking looks weird thourgh

  • is that normal that you've low fps? can't you set it at least to 30 fps?

  • hi! can you helpme?, how can you meka the camera tracks o follow the crosshair, or how can i get the camera follow my character in the game, thanks! send me an PM

  • dont really feel like making a PM and other ppl should know this 2, select the camera and the object u want it 2 track and press ctl=t and that should do it, much like parenting 2 objects, "im not positive tho"

  • @CrazyBrothersFilms. you make the camera where you want to have a look on the person. Then click on the camera and hold shift then click on the person, and then just hit ctrl-p and voila! :D

  • would you mind telling me how you kept your character from moving through the walls. And if your answer is "servo control", then how do you prevent your character from sliding after you have let off of the forward key?

    Thanks,

    Nice game

  • he will if you force him. but i now have been messing with linv and it seems to work better. I get the same issues with servo, In my yoshi game it was notorious for falling through walls. couldn't get to fixing it i think its just blender bullet pyhsics that are crappy.

  • Can't wait for 2.5!!

  • @goshfather

for ur character to not slide use either box collision dynamic make sure ur models in the right area by selecting his or her armature and or model ALT+G

now check rotation to default by pressingALT+R

    now start game

  • awesome! love it.... but, the upeer body looks sort of stiff, lols.... i spend WAAAAAAY too much time playing fallout lols

  • please post a tutorial on how to use the free look script

  • Please make this for linux!

  • i wouldnt know how to go about doing that, also this file is dead, as i reformated my cpu and didnt save the blend.

  • damn, those character models? they're textured better than the ones in gears o' war. the environment is great too, but those character models get 6/5 stars! count 'em! ******

  • hes using a Mouse/Freelook script so you can use the mouse to look around... great models u got ther, how many polygons is the main player?

  • OMG... I downloaded blender so i could run programs from my flash drive at school and i never thought it could be used this way because it was free.. Nice work

  • yeah that would take an extreme amount of time and work =p

  • wow good job!

  • holy shit!!!! I am on blender and I could never do that!!!! Please post tutorials or something. Please give me help! also post a link for your game!

  • how did u create the crosshairs ?

  • its just a object parented to the camera

  • can u create ur own characters? and everything like that? and the colours aswel?

  • if you question is, can all this be done in blender? then the answer is yes. i made all this from scratch.i modeled everything and i always make my own textures.

  • crysis

  • FUCKING SICK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • May I know is this the real frame rate or its just low quality video...

cause if you can make something like this in Blender and that its not lower than 30 fps...I'd be amazed and will seriously think of using blender over that unintuitive unexplained DirectX...

  • i scraped this project a while back. The frame rate was around 20 30 fps, but it didnt have anything in it, meaning if i added characters it would slow down. the file wasnt utilized correctly, i had huge images and alot of errors. I've got alot more experiece and i can make better stuff now. check out my yoshi game, the link to alot of my files is in my youtube home page. check out my latest videos the game im working on now is cool. my point is blender is capable of cool games.

  • Thank you a lot for replying! I am really impressed by this vid and by all your vids(I've already watched most of them!)

You are really doing great with this...

But I am still unsure about Blenders performance...I am so picky I really want to work with fastest and best APIs/Engines so thats what stops me from using Blender, as I am afraid that on half a project I might realize that blender just can't bear some big polycount or can't do this or that.

Anyways thanks and keep an AWESOME job!

  • if you realy want to make a cool ass game it will be difficult. Blender can make games, but i does have limits. I always have to cut corners or make sacrafices, it does tend to be annoying. Like in the game im working on i'm thinking of not using glsl so i can raise the performace, but then i found that i could keep it, but i have to turn off lights and keep it shadeless. i wish i didnt have to do that because it looks awsome with.

  • Hey thanks for that great short explanation, it really explains nicely exactly what I wanted to know.

So I guess I might still not use Blender :( DAMN! :( such great programming system :(

But do you think that with the rising speed of today's technology those performance limits will disappear gradually? I mean as time goes better processors, graphic cards and such...?

Cause I like spending time learning only PERSPECTIVE tools :)

sorry for to many questions :)

  • Well...about the poly count thing, think of blender as more a playstation type game making not Xbox 360, Wii or PS3 those are WAY too high count for this stuff, but i love its ability to UV map like it does, and using high res textures helps the game still look pretty professional so i say go ahead use blender it get vs my vote i love it so use it it will be SO cool to see what you can do

  • Thanks about that a lot! I definitely tried Blender and it feels awesome but currently I am trying Irrlicht and Ogre so in case both of those disappoint me in some way I am back to Blender cause I always loved the idea of visual programming and when I say VISUAL I mean VISUAL...blender is the only thing living up to that term :D

  • Playstation my ass. This is like ps2 and I'm pretty sure that blender can't handle a lot of things that 3dmax can do

  • the difference blender is FREE

and yeah this isn't the best blender has to offer it depends largely upon the skill of the user

  • What are you talking about? He has real time shadows and reflection going on. The limit's your own skill level. I've been using 3ds max professionaly for over 10 years lol. I've just discovered Blender and I already like it better than max. It's faster to work in. Even when you know what you're doing 3dsMax's a babel tower of properties and modules. LOL It forces you to purchase mudbox seperately when it could be part of max easy. Autodesk is good at milking clients for their money.

  • Whoa, your comment sounded really profesional until you added the big "LOL"...thats a shame.

  • awesome

  • i want the .BLEND file! XD (if you able to give, of corse)

  • yea it doesnt work for me neather i dont know if im doing somthing rong or what but it doesnt work tell me if u find a way

  • hi !, game uses UV texture coordinates, you must to add texture in uv editor and shading textures and redirect to UV map input.

  • incredible. dont drop the project

  • if you want to put in the extra effort you could do it in python to make it run A LOT faster. Logic bricks eventually dont work for a big game

  • id play it/ buy it

(when it is finished and full to potencial)

  • the animations a bit clunky and it would be better in first person, but nice job!

  • shiit, this is by far the nicest game that i've seen done with blender, my god 5/5!!

  • Make... a .... tutorial... please *drools*

  • hes using crysis models

  • ur an idiot no he didnt

  • How would u make a character walk in the direction of the camera. so if the camera turns to axis y,z, and x are switched?

  • how did u make the blood

  • nice..... amzing

  • scince your not doing this anymore you should put the .exe out so no one can take ya stuff but for learning to see how you did all that

  • nope, ya can hack blend files out of exes realy easily

  • really. how do u do that? i have tried with my frinds .exe game but i couldnt lol

  • theres a script floating around in the blender artists forums that can extract the blend.

  • or you could easily conjoin it to a picture with cmd then extract it and open :D

  • nice!

  • DUDE thats amazing...YOUR A GOD...k seriously like how long did it take you to get THAT good at blender?

  • ide say hes been using 3d programs for a few years

  • wow. where did u learn this? could u tell me where i could get tht kind of info. or even better, do some character, rigging, and phisics, tutorials. I'm having trouble w/ rigging especially

  • Hell yeah I wish I could do this I suck at this program how long did it take to make this.

  • i wanna see the .blend file for this game, people could learn alot from this

  • man...

    you dont know anithingh...

  • those graphics aren't that great, and even if they were, the game is virtually only limited by the designer, not by this program. The reflections are environment mapping, the models are not hi poly, but it wouldn't matter, the computer running the game governs that, not blender.

  • just sweet

  • how did you get the reflective surfaces on the buildings? and how did you get the projectile things to glow?

  • he is an ultimate badass

  • who is he the terminator

  • ive seen this before at blenderartists forum.

    anyway, gg 5/5

  • This is great stuff man. The quality of the vid doesn't justify it. buy fraps I just did It's great quality. This works deserves be be shown in high def. Great job

  • Im a fan of your work! 5/5

  • the set and the lights are wonderfull! I hope you continue this project.
