@TheSparrabeth Well, of course they did. Ahoy, avast and aye (aye aye) are nautical terms. Any sailor of the period would have said them. Pirates were sailors before they took to the sweet trade. "Arrr" - that's an from Cornwall, England, where so many sailors and some of our most famous pirates (Blackbeard, for instance) came from. Robert Newton, who played Long John Silver, was Cornish. Did ALL pirates talk that way? No. Did many? Of course they did. Don't take PotC as the pirate dictionary.
