@SmileyGarrish No it wasn't, dumbass. I used to spend a good bit of time with these guys all around Athens in the late 70s-early 80s. It was Ricky coming up with the riff, and Fred wanting to do a Lewis Carroll inspired song that got sillier and sillier.
The show took place in the Dortmunder Westfalenhalle in May 1983 , where the Bs played along with some other bands like Men At Work, Ultravox and Nena.
The show was taped and aired on German tv in July 83.
@MikeNice619 I'm not sure why you think it's later than '82...this song is years older than that. There's videos of them playing this live in the late 70's.
@Sinsemilla4u I share your oppinion, their first record came out in 79 which became an instant hit, and they have allready played gigs befora that, so basicly 82 is a perfect time for this. and if anyone is not sure gimme a proper resource article and I'll change the title.
could you possibly imagine this song being such a big hit...now there a television shows to weed out such weirdos such as them...glad I was in the world where I could chose my own music...such as this unforgettable band...My favorite was dance this mess around.....
wow..... electric energy ... this bands unified stage presence is unreal!! x))).... and i was loving cindy's moves throughout ... that girl could really rock x))))
That's what's so cool about live, raw music; it doesn't have to be in perfect tune to get across to people. Sure, polished studio music is going to be record quality, but it's the energy of a live performance that really makes music an ethereal experience. It just sounds better live, regardless of the band or the type of music being played, IMO.
They sound pretty bad in this concert, but who cares? They are lots of campy fun and the acoustics were horrible. I love they way the girls just shoved their wigs back up on their heads and went for it. Watch out for that bikini whale !!!!
This must have been the German Rockpalast show. I saw the whole concert in summer 82 when I was on holiday with my family on a farm on Fehmarn, Baltic Sea. We simply put a TV in the laundry room. What a great reminder, greetings to the two punk girls :-)

Always loved the B-52s. So avant garde for their time! They certainly are the basis for my taste in music today.

Kate and Cindy should go back to playing an instrument on stage. They look so silly just standing there now since they can't really dance anymore.
