  • agassi of 34 years and still give some battle and federer "prime" that show how good agassi was

  • Thanks for the upload... but the audio is really really off starting after one minute :(

  • how the crap are the stands empty?

  • 00:36: he's trying to employ the same tactics that roddick employed at wimbldon.... LOL no wonder Agassi lost the match

  • no top comments now is my time to shine!

    *ahem*

    boobies!

  • @demonslayr22 you failed lol.

  • how was like no one watching this 0_o

  • @thevsters9 rain delay

  • damn I really wish the audio was sinchronized!

  • thisnamealsotaken ur full of shit

  • Audio is off by like a minute.

  • 2 of the best ever

  • how were there empty seats during this match!!!!!!!!!!?? :O

Only in the US open, *shakes head*

  • Agassi was playing great considering he was 34 and Federer was at his prime. Unbelievable from both players. And they say 90s tennis sucks compare to tennis nowadays.

  • @cxyian I don't (except some of Sampras). But I would say that Feds prime was not until at least a year later; his backhand had improved a lot by then. Agassi was lucky because his style of play came to be favored as courts slowed down and rackets got better, nearly destroying the volley game, (a large part of Fed's game, although he still had large success because he adapted, and was just that good), but still favored big serving (Agassi's serve improved throughout his career).

  • Honestly, you cant even really have the Goat debate because of the surface modifications. Wimbledon and US Open have both been slowed down dramatically to favor baseline pussies, which practically eliminated serve & volley overnight. The competition in the 2000s was cut in half after they slowed the courts down. There's no variety in play anymore really. Tennis is fucken boring now.

  • LoL, dominating ONE slam will never make Rafa the Goat, even if he breaks the Grand Slam record. That makes him the Goat on clay, thats it ... Unless he can win several more non French Open titles, experts will never consider him in the Goat debate.

  • @splendid1000 I agree with you but I would say that there are two hard court slams, and the grass at wimbledon is slowing down to become more like hard court, lending less to be said for winning a variety of slams nowadays.

  • @OneWingDuck

Well said my friend ... Well said indeed.

  • agassi is still great at that age

  • Agassi they are toooo short xD

  • Audio isn't fucked up ... Everyone knows sound is faster then light

    O.o

  • @Salires11 Now are you sure about that ? :P

  • @dazza2708 you did not seriously asked me that question -.-

  • Agree with the top comments, the audio ruins this video

  • @forman208 mute the video and play some music

  • @forman208 ok youre choice

  • WTF is thios? the court is not even FULLL or even half full

  • How can there be that many empty seats for a match like this!

  • @Elohite That was the same thought I had while watching this video. Weird how they packed the house for Andre in his matches against Sampras and Blake in other quarterfinals at the USO

  • how can someone bitch about a men with 16 grand slams

  • federer had better technique here than he does now, he hits harder here aswell!

  • Greatest match of the tournament!

  • If Agassi was in his mid twenties he would have schooled Federer and exposed all his weaknesses. I mean he is still struggling against a 34 yr old Agassi and has to go 5 sets. Also Federer played in a time when it was one of the worst times for tennis and no competition at all (only Roddick and a few) and now that the time has come for him to rise to the challenege he is pussying out. Come back when Federer is still playing tennis when he is 34 and reply on this wall.

  • This is so amazing to watch. Champions of two generations and big props to Agassi for putting up that much of a fight. I really it that you can see that they are from different era's by watching their technique.

  • look at the stands!!!!! the arthur ashe is not as full as it is today when roger plays. the making of a legend

  • @ EVERY DUMBASS SAYING FED IS NOT THE GREATEST/HAS A WEAK POINT-

    Let's see... Federer...16 grand slams...

    Sampras.....14....

Nadal....don't feel like looking him up so I guess 10?

    Chokes-up-when-it-comes-to-Grand-Slams-ovich aka djokovic...2

  • @SirColonelSwag - He played in a period of no competition. From previous generation only an aging Agassi was still fairly good, then what? Roddick? I mean, he's great, he would have won many slams anyway, but look at it now. Against other great players, Rafa, Nole, he's not winning that much.

  • Damn that 5th set went by so fast! LOL

  • wow....john "nostrodamus" mcenroe @ 1:30

  • if fed can get a couple more slams late, i will place him up there. without that, i don't see him as the goat. one or two slams late with Rafa and a strong Nole and i would say he is.

  • @jr10spro yeah i agree. nadal, djoko and murray started to challenge roger after he already had 10 slams i think. before them only the great marat safin and andre agassi could beat federer. hewitt, roddick, ferrero, etc were only there to provide entertainment for roger, nothing more.

  • @jr10spro it's more careful to wait for the end of the times to see if fed is really this silly goat thing

  • was the match played diuring the night or the day? it looked sunny

  • @pablotjob if i remember good, first 3 sets were played during the night session and then was ended on the next day, when there was this wind >60 km/h

  • @thisnamealsotaken federer is the GOAT and always will be... Stop trolling vids keep your opinions to yourself you moron

  • @addy72222 loll keep sayin that to urself and one day u might believe it even when that other kid has 20 plus slams. cheers

  • @thisnamealsotaken you mean that new aussie coming through now? He's getting a lot of hype but it may be too early tell

  • @weeve19 yeh i meant him ofcourse LOLLL.

gotta love how much ppl hate him that they act like he doesnt exist.

  • @addy72222 Federer played his prime in one of the worst eras of men's tennis. The greatest (American) generation was all retired. The world players were down as well... I mean RODDICK was his biggest competitor... Fed had no real competition. AA was around but was getting very old. If Fed had had a decent rival early on, I would possibly put him up there. Sadly, he did not.

  • @jr10spro haha excuses..excuses. Ok pete sampras and agassi is best.

  • it is shame that solid players like nadal(2006), djokovic(2008), murray(2008)

, del potro(2009) come up a bit late, if those fours could have played their best tennis since 2004, i think right now Roger he could only won 5 or 6 grand slams.

  • @chhunvorn if federer was playing like this in 2008-2011 he'd have 20+ slams.

  • @scuzzlebutt ah the sound of a dilusional fan, such a sight lol.

  • @chhunvorn

Please, go jump from bridge, thank you.

  • Please stop calling this fake bastard federer is GOAT, because he does not deserve it. He needed five set to beat 34 old agassi, he was very lucky, because his serve save him so many time, and agassi's serve was rubbish. If agassi could serve like Kalovic sampras djokovic and roddick, he would actually destroy federer easily may be in three straight set. Moreover federer just beat weak players like roddick, hewitt etc. to win his grandslams.

  • @chhunvorn So he is lucky that his serve is good? A serve is no less important than the forehand. If his serve is good, than he has just one more shot that will earn him points. And who cares who Fed defeats in Grand Slam finals? He still had to make it there. And what about when he won Wimbledon over Nadal and the US Open over Djokovic? Are they weak players, as well?

  • @181erob But he only beat nadal two times in grand slam, nadal beat him six times in grandslam. Yeah he beat Djokovic in Us open 2007 2008 2009. But in 2007 djokovic had five sets points in first set and two set points in second set. At the end of 2008 and 2009 he just beat rubbish djokovic(metal problem) who produced more double fault then ace and he also committed a lot of unforce error. But in 2011 when djokovic get his serve back and play his best tennis, Roger has no chance at all.

  • @chhunvorn Maybe, but at this point, Federer is far past his prime, and is maybe even nearing his retirement. Djokovic, on the other hand, is on a hot streak and right in the middle of his prime. Obviously Djokovic would take a match like that.

  • @181erob Federer is way younger than Agassi was here. AND, Agassi had a lot of health issues, while Federer is unusally just about injury-immune.

  • @chhunvorn federer had a chance but not like he used to. hes 30 years old and prob only has a few more decent years left. his backhand is not what it used to be. djokovic in the australian open his tactics were very clear. he just attacked federers backhand prob 70-80% of the time. and feds backhand is not what it used to be 2-3 years ago but he is too stubborn to run around use his forehand. and even though djokovic may be in his prime now, it was still a close match 7-6,7-5,6-4.

  • @AceGuitarR7 Yes djoko attacked fed's backhand, but he entitle to do so. Federer is not complete player yet, because his back hand is consider to be one of his weak point, this is one of the reason i think that he is not deserved to be the greatest ever. Yeah in AO 2011 it was a close match between federer and djokovic, but how about in US open 2004 where federer(23 year old) was at his prime, and he still need five sets to beat old agassi(34 years old) even older then federer(30 years old) now

  • @chhunvorn 1) Agassi said Federer was the greatest player he's ever played against.

    2) Agassi admited to have played some of his best tennis in Federer's era.

  • @Zozim57 funny, he also said that about sampras.

  • @chhunvorn federer not greatest ever now, so who is better? connors? mcenroe? djokovic?

  • @youziness Bjorn actually.

  • @chhunvorn

His backhand is weak>? AHAHAHAHAH fucking idiots, do you even count how much balls goes on Fed backhand compared to other players? fucking noobs, hes backhand (one handed) is the best after Gasquet! stop trolling you useless noobs.

  • @181erob see the sword always cuts both ways; u can not say fed used to win everything cus he was in his prime and he loses now cus hes past it but then also say he beat nadal and djokovic in the beginnings. the problem with that is that if u take in account feds prime then u also have to take in nadals and djokovics prime, which were after fed beat them (even a dilusional fed fan cant deny how good nadal and djok now are compared to lets say 2007).

    think about it.

  • @thisnamealsotaken I know this, and I am not a Fed fan, really. But you can't deny that he is great. Some people claim Sampres to have been better than Fed, because by the time Fed came, Sampres was starting to age a little. It's tough to compare players who aren't the same age.

  • @181erob i never denied he is great, what i said is that he is u cant take in account his so called prime but not of others. age a little lol? sampras retired the next yr after playing fed, the dude was practically on his way out. no its not tough at all, i know why u would say that cus then the nadal factor would be off mr feddies back but thats not gonna happen. nadal is and will be seen as feds rival, if his fans like it not. when they all retire; 1 nadal, 2 fed 3 sampras. just wait and see.

  • Federer has given the tennis world so much changes! A lot of people knows tennis exist but were not interested at all, until the dominance of Federer became a byword. The court are always jampacked everytime he's the one on court! I bet you, if Fed decided to retire, a huge percentage of tennis followers will lost interest with the sports! Until another player of Federer's calibre and CHARM comes along.

  • Agassi, at 34, the only challenger for Federer:-))))) what a competition.LOLL

  • @cammpinno hahaha yeh those were the candyshop days for mr federer; having a hewit and roddick as main competitors from his generation while battling an antique agassi (and even sampras lol at times) for wins. i bet he just dreams sometimes and goes back to those days, when he gets a tennislesson from a fair competitor as nadal like he received many times since 2008.

i was a big sampras fan and i remember ppl then laughin at me sayin fed is gonna be goat, whos laughin now? karma is a ....

  • @thisnamealsotaken thanks a lot for your comment, really appreciated, man.

Sampras, in this "competition", would have won 20-25 majors. Agassi around 15 (if not for Pete haha).

Nadal has an amazing 15-8 HtH vs Federer, 16-9 vs Nole, 9-4 vs Murray. So whos the boss? hahahaha.

    True dominator, like Pete was.

    Enjoy:-)

  • @cammpinno No, he wouldn`t. Sampras didn`t have the baseline game to beat these guys. Also, they were better passers. Sampras wouldn`t win slams in this era. Don`t kid yourse,,f you idiot.

  • wat this dA final or w'at

  • Agassi always played extra motivated against Federer.

  • I think federer was at his best here

  • federer dominated this year

  • The audio seems off-balanced. I believe it has to be fixed.

  • pleasant....R.F beat few times agassi, but never easily. Here, after this match, he defeated in straight sets Henman in semi-final.

  • Guys just to clear matters Federer Vs Nadal matches history

    Hard Courts 3-3

    Grass Courts 2-1

    Clay 2-10

So it is just not fair playing 12 matches on clay , Fed is better on grass and hard courts while Nadal is Better on CLAY courts

  • @ahmad8000000 according to your logic, Nadal and Federer are just as good as each other on hard courts. Nice try.

  • @ahmad8000000 ya unfortunately, the # of matches Fed loses to Nadal on clay probably screws around with Fed's mind. it's like a smaller version of what Fed has on Roddick. lol

  • Well, tennis' popularity dipped from like 2000-2003, so thats probably why the stadium was so empty.

  • @JForcE777

federer is pretty much the one man holding tennis' popularity up now

when he quits, i expect great drops in crowds again

nadal can beat federer on court, but he isnt close to matching federer anywhere else

even if federer isnt the greatest player that has ever lived, he is definitely the greatest tennis diplomat that has ever lived

  • @foul01 true... but we need del potro back... if him and nadal stay fit and healthy i think the crowds will come to see them

  • Where is everyone? It's Agassi v. Federer!

  • What the hell happened the whole stadium was half EMPTY?! Is this really US Open 2004?

  • @AdvertChild98 Even I'm surprised because this should have been big because people were wondering who's the next American to win? and many thought it would be Agassi and I AM SO SURPRISED THAT IS IT IS SO EMPTY EVEN FOR A MATCH OF 2 GREAT LEGENDS

  • agassi is not as kind as he always appeared to be. admitting the use of crystal meth was just a means to raise the selling of his book.

he knew he'd get negative response for that..

though, i admired him on the court. his game was so extremely fast..i'd love to see him on the tour again.. =/

  • do you think the guy needs money? if he did he wouldn't be adding millions to his foundation.

  • true, but people are greedy, they always want more.

    there exist enough similar examples..

  • He could have more, but he chooses to give, so he obviously isn't greedy.

    You = bandwagonner

  • how simple-minded are you??

just because he has his own foundation it doesn't automatically mean he isn't greedy or doesn't want more money. like i said, there are sooo many expamples.

ppl often pretend to be the good samaritan and add money to foundations or something. no one needs bad publicity when its not necessary.

..and how dare you call me a bandwagonner?!

why do you insult people for no reason?

  • I'm not insulting you, maybe you're just really sensitive.

And I disagree, he's added million upon million to his foundation and will do so probably until he dies.

Anybody with half a bran can tell that a man of his stature would not risk losing respect and legacy in tennis just for an extra couple of dollars, because it's just pocket change to him.

And like you've said "soooo many examples" yet you've given none and none of them matter anyway. You judge an individual as an individual.

  • yeah, i guess you're right.

still, i think someone pushed him to admit the use of crystal meth..maybe the publishing company. since him being a tennis legend it won't hurt his image acknowledging it.

but i always loved watching him playing tennis.

he and safin had a lot of influence on my gameplay in my early years :)

  • He simply wanted to get it off his chest. And I disagree, many (idiotic and sheepish) people look down on him now. (People who know nothing about sport and some who are drug users themselve). Meth isn't a performance enhancer, more like something that would seriously deteriorate your performance. And Agassi was winning nothing during this period of time either. He was going through a tough part of his life and I can accept that.

  • @deagmomo

    what examples?

  • @deagmomo

Anyone that's won even one grand slam has enough money to live for the rest of his life. Why would he want even more money? He's got so much he donates a large portion of it.

  • @deagmomo

lol, people who use crystal meth are unkind?

  • Buzzybee286 I think their recent tussel at Wimbledon demonstrates that Roddick just cant get past Roger at GS level (and he played much better in 08 than 04). Ngfan, Agassi is not an á$#hole' he is a legend of the game and an inspirational sportsperson, and how do you mean Roger should have won, last time I checked Roger DID win.

  • suck a good match but federer shudve played agassi in agassi's best years :) (best match in history then!!!)

  • young fiery federer

  • @sweetmrniceguy lolll yeh not like the oldddddd 29 yr old federer right? this shows how blind u federer dickriders are when it comes to tennis; federer is old at 28, 29, 30 but i didnt see any of u saying anything about age when roggie was beating agassi at 34 and 35.

  • @thisnamealsotaken Becauae agassi was still playing at the same level he always had been.Federers level droped as he got older

  • @dpistons149 LOL the fed excuse man at his best. u guys are sad.

  • @thisnamealsotaken Ok so what is your point.Federer is the goat, deal with it

  • @dpistons149 my point is in my first comment. ur point about him being the goat right now is 100 procent true and i got the balls to admit that but u guys wont be able to admit the same about that other certain dude when he breaks the record. u will have 1001 excuses ready, thats why i started with disabling atleast one of them with this comment.

  • @thisnamealsotaken

I dunno, Nadal may not be able to beat Federer's record. Tennis is getting a lot more...competitive now, with Djokovic already beating him 5 times this year, and many other players stepping up. Hopefully we'll see more Grand slam champions in the years to come.

  • @TrolloftheTube true, but i do think nadal is up for the challenge. he has shown that in the past as well; in the beginning his game was not good enough to beat fed (with exception of his fave clay) but he worked on it and found a way. hes gonna do same with djok, though djok is gonna be tougher cus he got less weaknesses (almost none to be exactly). lets see what happens, tomorrow an amazing line up of semis. cant wait for the djok fed one especially. prob a djok nadal final.

  • @thisnamealsotaken

I don't really care who wins, I just hope both of the matches go to at least 4 epic sets, although I'm not all that excited about a Nadal/Federer Final, because the last one they played wasn't so great. It seems to me, though, that Djokovic has become to Nadal what Nadal is to Federer. I can't really see Nadal dominating Djokovic anymore, just like I can't see Federer beating Nadal any time soon. But we'll see.

  • @thisnamealsotaken U really havent proved anything.I will be fine saying somebody is better than fed if they are able to dominate tennis and pass him in majors won.

  • @dpistons149 yes i did and by ur last comment u proved my point AGAIN; u added if someone is able to dominate tennis like he did, meaning if rafa breaks the record but does not have a 4 yr ''dominance'' like fed had in 2004-2007 then he wont be the greatest. thats ur excuse nr 1 of 1001.

its really simple my friend; when fed keeps the record hes the goat, when rafa breaks the record then he is the goat. there are no ifs and side excuses and add ons etc etc. just accept it like i do.

  • @thisnamealsotaken You are completely wrong.I never said that rafa hasnt dominated tennis. He is already an all time great but hasnt dominated to the level of Sampras or Federer.IF he is able to pass the Federer in majors won I will have no problem saying that he is better, but Novak has already done to Rafa what it took Rafa YEARS to do to Federer. So rafa passing roger is not certain.Even if roger does get surpassed he will always be in the discussion for the best ever like Sampras.

  • @dpistons149 no im not, u think i am cus ur the classic fed dickrider u only think in his advantage. and u proved my point AGAINNNN in ur last comment by bringin up ANOTHER excuse to downplay rafa and suck more on rogers dick by saying it took yrs for rafa while it took a few matches for novak etc. debating with a roger dickrider is hence a waste of time cus they only see their own truth.

so im only gonna finish with the plain facts again; rafa record, rafa goat. roger record, roger goat.

  • @thisnamealsotaken Lol dude ur full of shit.I owned you

  • @thisnamealsotaken If im a fed dick rider you are a rafa dick rider. How am i down playing rafa you ,he is one of the best ever but still not close to being greater than federer and after the beat down the Djoker put on him AGAIN in the us Open final for the 6th time this year, him passing Fed in majors is in jeopardy now more than ever.If you go back and read the comments i said if rafa is able to pass Fed in Majors i would call him the best ever.So u fail AGAIN at proving anything to me lol

  • @dpistons149 well djoker did beat rafas ass, as well rogers lol. only difference is it hurts more to roger, the way it happened AGAIN lol. u only fail AGAIN cus u dont even know what u said, go read ur own comment moron u will see that u had made up an excuse even if rafa passes ur crybaby bitch.

quiz q: whats the difference between roger and rafa? when they get their ass kicked the first one makes 1001 excuses for it, the other accepts it like a man.

  • @thisnamealsotaken It probably was more painful to Fed because he actually had a chance to beat Djoker unlike Nadal this whole year.I said if rafa is able to pass fed in majors and dominate the sport like him i would call him the greatest. If rafa passes fed in majors,he would have the most of all time and i would call that dominating the sport you dumbfuck.

  • @dpistons149 rafa can pass fed in majors by basically just winning roland garros until he retires, now would u call that dominating? No, U DUMB FUCK.

my god ur an idiot lol.

  • @thisnamealsotaken are u really this stupid?! If rafa wins the french until he retires you wouldnt call that dominating?Thats means he would win a GS every year even into his early or mid 30s something federer couldnt even do.Hes already won the career Grandslam you DUMBFUCK so it wouldnt matter how he passed Fed...IF he does

Im done with your bitchass...reply if u want

  • @dpistons149 Dominating clay yes. But lackluster in comparison everywhere else. Hasn't been able to defend a non clay title ever. Hard to call that dominant.

  • @dpistons149 wow look at u turning 180 degrees. u son of a bitch u said earlier he needs to dominate the way ur crybaby dickbuddy so called did, winning one roland garros doesnt equal that now does it. it doesnt take a genius to know that 10 roland garros and only 4 other slams is not as good as 6 wimbledons, 5 us open, 4 aussies and one rg. even ur dumb ass knows that, but u deny that so it can fit ur idoitic point at the moment.

go suck federers has been cock.

  • @thisnamealsotaken uhhhhhhh... lol.. Someone needs to lighten up..

  • @TheDrowsyMadcap uhhhhh someone needs to be objective

  • @thisnamealsotaken teehee... people love to hear themselves speak.. or in this case.. see themselves speak lol.. Have a good day..

  • @TheDrowsyMadcap silenced one fed dickrider, so now i have to defend myself against the others lol

  • @thisnamealsotaken FED=Goat

  • @dpistons149 well we will see if nadal would be competitive at the age of 30

  • @dpistons149 oh and just to beat u in ur own game; it took novak MORE YEARS to dominate and be nr 1 than rafa. if u take ur mouth off rogers dick u could clearly see that rafa got to mainstream succes around 2005 and was nr 1 in 2008 beating roggie on all surfaces and slams, while novak also came to light around 2005 but got to nr 1 and beating rafa on all surfaces (not all slams) in 2011.

    FAIL loll

    nice try tho.

and nice match yesterday btw lolll.

  • @thisnamealsotaken LoL do you even watch Tennis. How many years was Rafa number 2 and how many years was Joker number 2 It took rafa years to finally take the number 1 spot from fed while is took the joker a couple of months to overtake rafa haha. You obviously have some hatred for Federer which is pathetic but each to their own.I thought i could have a respectful debate with you but I was wrong.Keep Rafa's balls on ur chin.Good day

  • @dpistons149 go look at atp site moron, u can check exactly how many yrs it took novak to come to nr 1 and how many it took rafa. fail AGAIN. rogers dick is more on ur eyes, thats the main prob my friend.

did u enjoy the match yesterday as much as i did lol?

  • @thisnamealsotaken No you fail again. You let ur hate for Fed blind you from the facts. You havent proven anything to me and ur comments are laughable.

  • @dpistons149 ur the one that denies facts, i told u go to atp site and check them for urself. u dont wanna do that cus truth hurts buddy. u let ur hate for nadal blind u from the facts.

  • Agassi used meth what and admitted it only after retiring. What an asshole. Roger shouldve won this.

  • u mean agassi

  • he did

  • @ngfan1

asshole for using meth? you are absolutely retarded.

  • @ngfan1 "Roger shouldve won this." If you're talking about this match against Agassi US Open 2004...you are an idiot.

  • Agassi deserved to win!

  • Audio FAIL !

  • audiooooooooooo

  • damn seats look empty

  • Why does Mcenroe always refer to the Roddick Fed Wimby final 04.... eve today he does that. If someone plays Federer and tried to be very agressive hes always like "(insert name) is trying to play like Roddick did against Fed at Wimby in 04"

  • because roddick should have won that match...he had the perfect gameplan and it worked for most of the match, and if there wasnt any rain delays federer may have lost the match...plus this was the us open, only a few months after wimbledon

  • wish agassi still played..now he's a lil fatter n slower

  • You need to reload this match because the audio is all fucked up!

  • @captainbryce1 and you neednt watch it so shut up

  • Comment removed

  • its been the same deco turf for a while...this surface is no faster than todays because its the same exact surface

  • @rockerduff1231

US Open is slower now than it was in the 90s

  • why do most agassi matches go out of sync

  • This was the best match of the '04 US Open and the only true test Federer faced en route to the title. Judging by the roar he let out after winning match point Federer knew he had it!
