  • Are these metal support stuff that handle the pull up bar come with it ?

  • Anyone if they sell replacement brackets and screws?

  • @MartinArku I would use the brackets personally.

  • @MartinArku I use the brackets, by screwing it to the wall. I've had no problems this way.

  • @extremelyfit Do you use anchors, or do you screw straight into the pilot hole

  • @johnnyarks I guess it really comes right down to personal preference. ;) I don't mind the brackets, its on the inside of a bedroom, not commonly seen to guests. The bar goes up and down easily, and works well for my purposes.

  • @johnnyarks I think while they do the same things, I do like that the P90X bar is removable. So you can remove it from the brackets, and not have the bar sticking out inside your house all day long. :)

  • I got a similiar model to this but different name. How do you screw the plastic anchor in, and what do you do after? And does this work for hollow walls?

Please respone via private message please.

    Thank you inadvance.

  • Just a note for anyone from the UK buying one of these, they really don't fit this easily on a UK doorframe (our doors are a LOT thinner in width). A typical UK door frame is about as wide as the inner bar that the guy is holding at 0:29, so I think typical US doorways seemingly have at least another foot in width.

  • @Yospeck so we can get our fat asses through

  • @thetruth117 UK is pretty much just as fat really...

  • Do you put the plastic screw anchors all the way into the wall? Or into the wall until you get to the square part of the screw anchor?

  • @jxsilicon9 I go flush to the wall with mine. Then place the bracket, then screw it down.

  • Just a word to the wise. The p90x chin up bar installation manual says to leave 13.75 in. between each of the two brackets, which is wrong. Installing mine we did that and found that it was too wide apart, and had to re-drill holes :S

  • @Ddddennis81 Thank you for the feedback, and the information. While I didn't have a problem installing mine, I might have got a different set, or earlier set of instructions. I'll send a note to Beachbody, and mention this, maybe someone can double check the information there.

  • is this really safe? it wont break?

  • @quiterare Mine's still working fine, 2 years and going strong. :)

  • hey i have the p90x pull up bar but not the brackets, you know how i can get the brackets?

  • @bereft560 Sorry, we don't carry just the brackets. You can try Beachbody....

  • screws into drywall... thats sure gonna hold :|

  • @RADO420 Actually, I've personally used this bar for over two years. The screws go into anchors, and then you have the brackets as well. The bar distributes weight, on both sides of the door frame.

  • @RADO420 lol yea, i hear that... it didnt tell you to find the wood studs in the wall, lolol ... just looks like they are putting screws into drywall

  • i dont have a p90x bar but what are those hooks called?

  • @ekubalusabyan Just wall or support brackets is what I call them.

  • does the hook things come with the p90x or you bought it separate?

  • @CobraCommander02 The hooks or backers come with the bar. Thanks for stopping by!

  • i havent screw'd does things on my door, but im still able to use it do to my door frame is long enough to hold the bar...

  • how come it just hooks on like that, is there a way for it to fall off?

  • @babyballer240 The chin up bar rests on the door frame opposite of the hooks, so it is working on both sides. It works great!

  • @babyballer240 No. The way the bar works is when you do pull ups and stuff most of your weight goes towards or into the wall, not away from it

  • Damn, bought the Iron Gym before I saw this video. Oh well, I am fairly light. so no worries.

  • I was told that the wall im screwing into is plaster or something, arnt most doors like that?

  • @oldschooldude2 I have sheet rock, and I used the wall anchors prior to screwing the metal brackets to the wall.

  • Does the video come with the bar or order separately?

  • @SDavalon The bar is included in the deluxe package. Visit extremely-fit(dot)com and search for the P90X Deluxe Workout.

  • I try to Installed the (L) in top of pull bar but it doesn't workout because my the wall in top of my door frame is concrete and i try to push the screw with drill but it doesn't workout , i really love this pull up bar and i want to use it and i live in old apartment so is there is any advice

  • @usfm21 Get some cement screw, and some cement anchors. you can find both at home depot...pretty basic.

  • yea, first of all... those are drywall screws and they are not meant for the instalation of any "L' brackets. Second of all, rarely will you find a stud in the wall, right above the center of your door. They are usually situatedon the sides of teh door frame.

  • You are right, you will likely not find any studs. The installation kit comes with sheet rock wall anchors.

  • @fatpat38

    its not even that,

the main weight of the pull up bar is focused on the actual frame of the door.

The "L" brackets are only in place to keep the pull up bar from sliding out of place randomly when not in use.

  • does it come with those 2 "j" metal brackets??? thanks

  • Yes. It does. :)

  • It may not show anchors, but some are provided. I used them with my installation.

  • About the anchors-- I'm no architect. How do you get them into the wall? Drill a hole and then hammer them in, then put up the J-brackets and screw the screws into the anchors?

  • Use a drill to make a small hole, then tap them in with a hammer. Then the rest as you have stated, J-Backet next, then the screws.

  • Hey yeah, thanks a lot -- it works great!

  • @extremelyfit does this work on concrete wall? i means.. tap the anchor into concrete wall?

  • My question would be whether there's actually solid wood behind that part of the upper door frame to warrant only wood screws be used, ... or if plastic anchors for the plaster wallboard are required. I didn't notice any anchors being used.

  • The manufacturer states that trim is required. Trying it without trim would be up to you, but I could not guarantee it would work.

  • if i used just those metal hooks without trim around the doorway will it still work?

  • Yes, it secures the bar. :)

  • Do we really need to screw those two medal holder?

  • I dont think so... i dont even have a wooden stud above my door trim so i dont even see the point since im just screwing into dry wall.
