aww thank you!!! i'm glad that we can help people in any way!! it makes me feel great knowing that we can help you, even if it is just a little bit!! :)
I have a diagnosis of ED-NOS. My ED runs towards BED/Bulimia. I grew up with a lot of good food/bad food mentality, so for me, cutting out foods would just set me up for negative thinking that my ED would inevitably wrap itself around. I found retraining myself to eat all foods in moderation to be more helpful. Truth be told, I'm still trying to do this. I'm at the point now, where I've normalized (for me) my eating habits.
but, I'm trying to figure out what to do with my feelings instead of turning to food and other maladaptive coping skills to handle them. I still have urges to act on my behaviors, and that really stinks. Anyway, I found the suggestions helpful. Thank you. :)
hey melissa! Thanks so much for your perspective. I've not really dealt a whole lot w/binging so thanks for the insight. I only recently started to find comfort in food (a couple yrs ago-which isn't good either people are better!) and it terrified me...I'm really glad you joined us in breaking the stigma around this =)
Wouldn't eliminating foods cause you to feel like binging more...wait never mind your just gettin to that. lol.
Hey Melissa, great tips on how to prevent a binge. I have a paper that my nutritionist gave to me that talks about how to interrupt a binge. I might translate that to English and make a video response to this video with that.
Journaling has always been a key to my recovery. Great vid!!
