i am the champ at the prime series. i have beaten them all on hard mode for 1 and 2 and 3. (first two on the gamecube) and veterans mode for corruption. and because of nistolgia, i will get metroid other m.

But here's my secret what I usually do is try and find more missile expansions and energy tanks then find the nearest save station, go on the internet for Metroid Prime solution guide. Then PRESTO! You can beat the game with no trouble what-so-ever unless you're doing it on hard mode then Metroid Prime in the flesh will be fucking hard to beat.

I almost cry whenever I think about Metroid or Paper Mario. They were the best games ever, but PM gets stale after one playthrough, and metroid got stale after 8.
A long time ago, i went to NC on a trip to see my family. At that time, the games i knew and loved consisted to repetitive games like Mario Kart and Pokemon. At NC, i found a game i had never seen before: "METROID PRIME". i asked if i could play it and my uncle said yes. The first couple of minutes included me learning how to walk and jump... but the next 2 days were... beautiful... to this day, i still havent beaten the game (havent played in a very long) but looking back, i almost cry.
This song holds so many fond memories for me. Metroid Prime 1 is still one of the most amazing games ever made. The way they showed the plotline is incredible any way you look at it and this game has a feel like nothing else ever made. Even if it will never be widely recognized as this, I will always consider it one of the true gems of gaming.
@sephious159 Prime 1 was just years ahead of its time when it came out. It really helped pave the way for a lot of 3D games these days. That's Retro Studios for you.

@Fuuin Other M was not that great, what I didn't understand was, what the hell was with Phantoon?! XD He didn't fit in at all! It answered a lot of unanswered questions for the series, but it wasn't a great game, Team Ninja kind of dropped the ball. They need to have Retro Studios take over Metroid again. The Prime subseries is just tops of the 3D series of Metroid.

@TheComputerNerd6622 If you have a Wii you should get the Prime Trilogy. It's 50 bucks but it's sooo cool and has tons of extra features. I bought it early this month and I looove it.
Also it seems like one of those type of music where after a long and terrible battle (or when the good guys are losing), a holy/peaceful music comes on and brings hope
@waffle314 The Gamecube had some of the most original games on it. It just lacked online and widespread third party support. I still dig this out from time to time, along with Eternal Darkness and Rogue Squadron 2
Man, I never realized just how precious human imagination is until I came back after playing so many games, nothing compares to the complete mastery of the spirit this series took on, I pray that our imagination can only develop further, this is pure magic.
if METROID has an ending sometime i want samus to go back and join the chozo that are still alive somewhere outhere... after all the battles. the suffering, she deserves to live the rest of her life at peace with those who raised her! just repect and hail the chozo......

Chozo Temple is one of the greatest soundtracks to any game. It successfully pierces open Samus' psyche to the players. To me this song makes it feels like, even though the Chozo are long gone, they still watch over and care for Samus.
Sometimes all it takes is a guy with electric piano skills, stratigly placing the right song on the right spot.
I FINALLY got this game months ago, and started playing it just recently. When I got to this part, it was like something clicked and I suddenly understood why people like this game so much.
I still think that Metroid Prime is by far the most atmospheric game I've ever played. Coupled with the music, how it matches to the environments, and little details like being able to see Samus' eyes reflecting off her visor make this game unparalleled when compared to others.

the top 2 reasons this game is so great.. the story was quite good and somewhat touching and the music is also touching in a sort of unexplainable way.....
i would just stand there. listening to this music for hours staring up at the rain drenched sky, i used to bow to all the statues of the Chozo elders. best.......music...ever

That song just make me nostalgic when I was playin MP1. Now I have Trilogy, so I spend most of my time playing on Prime 1 and 3 (I dont know why, but Prime 2 wasnt my favourite). By the way, I played MP3 on hypermode, quite easy, I didnt die once (I did the same for MP1). For easiest gameplay, go to controller options and select advanced, should me a lot easier.
I have to say, the first Metroid Prime is up there in my top 5 games of all time. The others.....I'm not too sure. I think overall Prime 3 was the weakest in the series (albeit the most difficult and completely worth playing through 3 times) and Prime 2 was...strange. People keep saying Prime 2 is difficult but I'd always thought it was too easy. Try hypermode Prime 3 and you'll forget about Prime 2 being hard.

in my opinion prime 3 is up there with the first. echoes had an unnecessarily high difficulty level and the whole dark/light thing was pretty annoying. of course i still loved it its just those two complaints held it back from true greatness...for me anyway
Maybe it's because it's on the Wii. I also I liked separate beams to switch between, it was a lot funner and more challenging if you had to switch beams in order to kill different kind of space pirates or baddies in general.
I thought Prime 2's difficulty level was refreshing. Nice to have a really hard game once in a while. I agree about the dark/light world though. I hate the ammo system, and while the dark world succeeded in creating a creepy atmosphere, it was basically just a purple version of the light world.
As for why people don't like Prime 3...probably because it lost the isolated atmosphere of the first two, and also because it's a bit more linear.
The ammo system was what balanced the game though. Otherwise you would just use the light beam all the time in dark aether and the dark beam in light. And then you would just destroy everything with annihilator once you got it.
yea i know but what I mean is that sucks especially the combo missiles, it takes 30 units or whatever more specifically the sunburts it sucks like shit isnt it? that its slow as my grandmother and sucks cause the dark troopers dodges it before it kick they ass
@PappinAce That's the reason Other M wasn't nearly as good as the Prime series. With the teammates, the talkative Samus, the storyline; it just didn't feel as isolated and lonely as the Prime series. Prime 1 was true gaming perfection.
i didn't like mp3 because it didn't make you feel as alone as the other ones. in prime 1, you have no contact with the GF. in prime 2, by the time you get to Aether, they're all dead u-mos is there but he doesn't do anything, he just sits there. in prime 3, you get help from the GF and hunters. its not as isolated and doesn't make you feel as alone. the music imo was lacking. i loved 2 the most because it was so hard. it really made you feel alone,and the atmosphere was perfect.
I loved this game. To bad my Gamecube had to die on me right when i started to understand this game.

If you have never played this game before playing Halo 3, or Call Of Duty, or Medal of Honor, you will never get the feeling that many peolpe have had while listenig to this music.

Chozo Temple is one of the greatest soundtracks to any game. It successfully pierces open Samus' psyche to the players. To me this song makes it feels like, even though the Chozo are long gone, they still watch over and care for Samus.
Sometimes all it takes is a guy with electric piano skills, stratigly placing the right song on the right spot.

I still think that Metroid Prime is by far the most atmospheric game I've ever played. Coupled with the music, how it matches to the environments, and little details like being able to see Samus' eyes reflecting off her visor make this game unparalleled when compared to others.

That song just make me nostalgic when I was playin MP1. Now I have Trilogy, so I spend most of my time playing on Prime 1 and 3 (I dont know why, but Prime 2 wasnt my favourite). By the way, I played MP3 on hypermode, quite easy, I didnt die once (I did the same for MP1). For easiest gameplay, go to controller options and select advanced, should me a lot easier.

I have to say, the first Metroid Prime is up there in my top 5 games of all time. The others.....I'm not too sure. I think overall Prime 3 was the weakest in the series (albeit the most difficult and completely worth playing through 3 times) and Prime 2 was...strange. People keep saying Prime 2 is difficult but I'd always thought it was too easy. Try hypermode Prime 3 and you'll forget about Prime 2 being hard.

I didn't find any of the Primes being that hard really. Dark Samus on Hypermode was a challenge, but nothing that bad.

i dont get why no one likes prime 3 as much as the first 2
in my opinion prime 3 is up there with the first. echoes had an unnecessarily high difficulty level and the whole dark/light thing was pretty annoying. of course i still loved it its just those two complaints held it back from true greatness...for me anyway

Maybe it's because it's on the Wii. I also I liked separate beams to switch between, it was a lot funner and more challenging if you had to switch beams in order to kill different kind of space pirates or baddies in general.

I thought Prime 2's difficulty level was refreshing. Nice to have a really hard game once in a while. I agree about the dark/light world though. I hate the ammo system, and while the dark world succeeded in creating a creepy atmosphere, it was basically just a purple version of the light world.
As for why people don't like Prime 3...probably because it lost the isolated atmosphere of the first two, and also because it's a bit more linear.

The ammo system was what balanced the game though. Otherwise you would just use the light beam all the time in dark aether and the dark beam in light. And then you would just destroy everything with annihilator once you got it.

yea i know but what I mean is that sucks especially the combo missiles, it takes 30 units or whatever more specifically the sunburts it sucks like shit isnt it? that its slow as my grandmother and sucks cause the dark troopers dodges it before it kick they ass

@PappinAce That's the reason Other M wasn't nearly as good as the Prime series. With the teammates, the talkative Samus, the storyline; it just didn't feel as isolated and lonely as the Prime series. Prime 1 was true gaming perfection.

i didn't like mp3 because it didn't make you feel as alone as the other ones. in prime 1, you have no contact with the GF. in prime 2, by the time you get to Aether, they're all dead u-mos is there but he doesn't do anything, he just sits there. in prime 3, you get help from the GF and hunters. its not as isolated and doesn't make you feel as alone. the music imo was lacking. i loved 2 the most because it was so hard. it really made you feel alone,and the atmosphere was perfect.
