Though i dont have experiences to share that could back my view, I think Kyo has a good heart, he as changed alot since the 90's when he was young with the "dont give a fuck" attitude I mean yes...Kyo is an entertainer...there is a bit of a facade he must have onstage but at the same time it is perhaps part of his nature to be cold. Obviously he is a tad shy around people and camera's. To me thogh I think dir en grey has now grown into their skin and they are humble, modest kind hearted guys

Just because you are one doesn't mean you HAVE to be in front of cameras all the time. He's not seeking for fame. It's not that he doesn't care, I think he doesn't like the stereotypical 'famous' label people put on him XD; I'm sure he's a very modest guy.

A friend of mine waited overnight at a venue in Chicago in the winter a few years ago when they toured in the U.S. - At that time, she was the only person waiting and Kyo went out of the tour bus to give her some hot tea that they had because it was very cold outside. Of course he went right back to the bus after giving it to her, probably due to shyness - The point is, he is a really kind person at heart, but is most likely just apprehensive of some of the psycho/weeaboo fans.
If people would like to know more about Kyo they should read the 2009 Kerrang article. It was very personal and seemed to reach much further than any recorded interview that I have watched.
In my opinion personally, this is the best Ive seen him look! He actually looks friendly and personable rather than with the freaky contacts and the makeup..but I know it's J-rock so they have to bring the costumes with the stage performance :)

It's almost unbelievable, how this man messes my world up with his beauty every single day. @LEluuluu Kyo is a very interesting man to meet. You first notice his height, then how it appears that he has no interest in you whatsoever - but then you shake his hand (the man has a vice-grip, by the way, which was surprising) and thank him. If you're lucky, you'll get a smile and a nod. Very sweet.
It's a fantastic feeling, not only because it's so very rare for this to occur, but there's also a sense of satisfaction and respect which can only come from this brief moment of understanding.

@Esuta I met him about a year ago and he's a very sweet guy, along with the rest of them. I'd say that the rest are definitely friendlier, but Kyo seems a bit more detached from the real world, therefore him giving off that "I don't care" vibe, but he isn't even remotely a douche as far as my personal experience went :)

I have to say i'm somewhat envious, I'm dying to meet the band, especially kyo, as he's such a big hero for me. I don't believe him being a douche, I just believe he is indeed a bit more detached from the real world, lately it seems he's slowly becoming the friendly smiling guy we know from the mr.Newsman period. I'm really glad to hear that he's a very sweet guy. I think it also matters how you react to the band though..

@mistressvader88 well basically most hot springs ban people if they see ANY one (not sure about foreigners) with a tattoo, no matter how small or ridiculous. the reason is that a yakuza member would indimate the other customers and they would have a scary time. once i was in a hot spring and this guy with A tattoo came in and everyone either went away from him or got out. im half japanese and like metal and want to get a tattoo, but i cant let hot springs go :P

I don't find it weird. Fans are great but they aren't the center of their universe. I like Kyo for how versatile a singer he is, how he just wants to make his music and he isn't concerned with anyone's opinion about how he does it. Shinya has always been my favorite though. :D

Kyo's everyone's favorite because he is such a rare sight outside the stage c: . A couple of days ago I saw a backstage video of them from the 5 ugly kingdom DVD, and I found it so odd to see Kyo laughing, talking to people and simply allowing the cameras to film him. That video just made my week <3

@akkibox I did notice how uncomfortable he is in front of cameras. Nevertheless I find that very weird. He's a rockstar, he's supposed to be in front of cameras. That's his job! Sorry, I just get annoyed cuz he's my favorite jrocker out there and I get to see so little of him outside the stage performances. In backstage clips he just seems to be running away from the camera...that is if he ever gets in front of one.

@LEluuluu Kyo is a very interesting man to meet. You first notice his height, then how it appears that he has no interest in you whatsoever - but then you shake his hand (the man has a vice-grip, by the way, which was surprising) and thank him. If you're lucky, you'll get a smile and a nod. Very sweet.
It's a fantastic feeling, not only because it's so very rare for this to occur, but there's also a sense of satisfaction and respect which can only come from this brief moment of understanding.

Kyo is the best. He was so nice to me at the New York City concert. He was hiding in a coner lol and I was looking back and forth at him and my camera for about 1 minute and then out of know where he went next to me. And then I asked to take a picture with him. I was so scared lol but he was really nice and said yes :) maybe it was because he was taller then me... Lol
